The crew was outstanding, the vessel was perfect for viewing, and the whale activity in late January '23 was second-to-none! I highly recommend this experience to both novice and seasoned whale watchers. Pro tip: if there is any shot at rain, invest in a poncho. Regardless of weather, this trip is definitely worth it.

Each raft is powered by twin turbo-charged Cummins diesels with 630 h.p. and coupled with their length, the Explorer Super Rafts are the fastest, safest, and most comfortable rafts in the State of Hawaii. U.S. Coast Guard certified to carry 42 passengers; but, limited to 36 passengers for the comfort of our guests.

A. The M/V Explorer I is a 49-foot Scarab Racing Hull Raft Coast Guard certified for 49 passengers, which is limited to 38 passengers for comfort. The vessel is powered by twin 315 H.P. turbo-charged diesel engines, has comfortable seating for all passengers, and an on-board restroom.
