West Maui

4.80
The West Maui Mountains don't seem much when compared to Haleakala, but the area is historically significant: It's closest to the islands of Molokai and Lanai, and even today ferries depart to these islands daily; Lahaina, the former capital of Hawaii and historic whalers town, is located on the west coast, along with many other current-day resort areas; The waters off the coast of west Maui serve as a whale conservation site during the winter and are home to the most beautiful sunsets.
