FAQ

Q. Are you required to wear a helmet during this activity?
A. Yes, all riders are required to wear a helmet for their safety.
Q. How far in advance should I book this activity?
A. We recommend booking at least 1-2 weeks in advance. If you have very specific schedule requirements and are not flexible, please book sooner. Last minute availability is often possible, but limited.
Q. What is the difficulty level of this activity?
A. This is a moderate bike ride, it is mostly down hill and level with two small hills.
Q. What kind of bicycles will we be riding?
A. Bike Volcano uses Giant Sedona comfort hybrid bikes.
Q. Will I see molten lava?
A. The active flow status is constantly changing, therefore lava viewing is unpredictable and is not guaranteed. On the Bike and Hike to Lava Tour you will be visiting the lava fields and the tour guide will search for the most recent lava flows. On the Full-Day & Half-Day Tours you will bike around the rim of the erupting crater and there is a chance of seeing active lava in the crater’s lava lake.
