The Flight

Departing from Waikoloa, you will fly across the island, between Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa volcanoes, towards the area of recent eruption. You will see all of the past lava flows from previous eruptions as you make your way to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park to check out the devastation caused by the 2018 eruption. Flying towards Hilo, you will see where past lava flows have come within miles of destroying homes and neighborhoods on numerous occasions. The flight continues on over the picturesque Hamakua Coast before reaching the famous Waipio Valley.
