Lanai Off-Road Adventures

Our driver took us to the cat sanctuary and then picked us up and took us to the Four Seasons to chill until it was time to head to the ferry. He then came back and took us to the ferry. This was all very much appreciated!

We were interested & curious about the recent history of Lanai - from Dole to Murdock to Ellison. Lucky for us, Josh and his family lived it all & he was kind enough to share with us. The only negative is parking at Maalaea harbor. Unless you're on the first trip in the morning at 0630, plan on a long walk from your car to the boat. They use a smartphone payment app for all parking in the harbor. At $1 per hour, the rate isn't bad - but the process of in-putting your credit card & rental car license plate info can be a problem, especially if you're running late. We were there at 0545, began boarding at 0600, and under way at 0630 on the dot. Give yourself plenty of time.

Clyde was a perfect host for our Lanai Island Tour. Very considerate and tried to pull everyone in on the conversation. It was great to have the tour given by someone who lives on the island and provided us a lot of ba... moreckground on what it's like to live there. The island was a complete surprise as to its landscape.

Very good pre-tour instructions and easy to receive the ferry tickets and tour voucher. The driver/guide was excellent, giving the small group choices on what to do. Love the places we visited and the stories told by the... more guide. Ample time to explore Lanai City before being driven to Hulopo'e Beach to explore - and close enough to walk back to the harbor to take the ferry back to Maui.

No exaggeration, we were treated like ROYALTY!! From the moment we arrived at check-in until we disembarked from the return ferry ride we experienced CONSTANT care and courtesy from the ferry crew and especially our tre... morekker-drver/tour-guide Russ , who went to extraordinary lengths to ensure our comfort and enjoyment , always giving us plenty of time to explore and indulge at the many places we visited. He even surprised us by returning to the beach shortly before ferry departure time to offer us a ride over to the ferry dock, for which we gratefully accepted! To say that he went "above and beyond" would be an understatement.
And all the people we encountered in Lana'i City ( at cafe , gallery , stores ) were so friendly , kindly and hospitable towards us...we felt sincerely welcome , and thoroughly enjoyed our visit , and hope to return for a longer stay.
Our emphatic thanks to Russ ( he was there to greet us when we stepped off the ferry ) and the ferry crew , who were right on time and very professional , for helping us have a fabulous and very memorable visit to Lana'i !
