  • You must be able to walk 1.5 miles on a forest trail, and paddle a tandem kayak together with a partner for 60-90 minutes.

Q. Do I need to be able to swim to participate?
A. No, being able to swim is not required but it is recommended for your own safety and comfort. Swimming is done at your own risk, so please be careful and take the proper precautions if you are not a strong swimmer.
Q. Are you required to wear a life jacket?
A. Yes, life jackets will be required to be worn at all times.
Q. How many people are there in a tour group?
A. There is a minimum group size of 4 people and a maximum of 18 people, based on double kayaks.
Q. What happens if the kayak flips over?
A. You are not strapped into the kayak and are wearing a life vest. Your guide will happily assist you in getting back into the kayak and ready to go again.
Q. What should I wear to this activity?
A. Wear swimwear under comfortable clothing suitable for hiking. Bring shorts, t-shirt, a windbreaker or light raincoat.
Footwear with tread for muddy conditions. A sports-type sandal with heel straps or aqua socks with tread works great.
And don’t forget a hat, sunscreen, bug spray, and a waterproof camera.
Q. What type of Kayaks and Equipment are used?
A. The kayaks used are tandem, open-cockpit (sit-on-top type), self-bailing kayaks with foot pedal controlled rudders to facilitate safety and ease of operation. Fiberglass paddles are lightweight with a tether and you will receive a life vest, and dry bag to keep your personal items dry.
