Enjoy a guided tour of Hawaii Island’s east side, where you’ll visit Waipio Valley Lookout, Akaka Falls and Rainbow Falls, explore the Hawaii Tropical Botanical Garden, savor malasadas and a hearty lunch, sample tasty treats, and take in the beauty and culture of Hilo with time to shop and explore.

Once you are picked up, start your morning with a sweet stop at Tex Drive-In, a local favorite known for its fresh, pillowy malasadas. These sugar-coated Portuguese-style donuts are served warm and make the perfect light breakfast before your journey through the Big Island’s scenic east side begins.

Soak in the incredible views of Waipio Valley, once home to Hawaiian royalty and revered as a sacred site. With its dramatic cliffs, lush valley floor, and sweeping ocean views, this overlook offers one of the most iconic photo stops on the island and a deep connection to Hawaii’s heritage.

Walk a lush loop trail through a tropical rainforest to see two of Hawaii Island's most impressive waterfalls, Kahuna Falls and the towering 442-foot Akaka Falls. This scenic path is surrounded by towering bamboo groves, wild ginger, and tropical plants that define East Hawaii’s natural beauty.

Cool down with a refreshing stop at Kula Shave Ice in Hilo, where you can purchase a handcrafted shave ice made with all-natural syrups and fresh island flavors. Though not included, this sweet and colorful treat is the perfect way to experience a local favorite on a warm island afternoon.

Explore one of Hawaii’s most stunning botanical sanctuaries nestled along the scenic Hilo coast. The harden is home to exotic flowers, vibrant orchids, and towering palms, all set within a rainforest. Stroll winding trails and coastal boardwalks in this tranquil paradise rich in natural beauty.

Enjoy a relaxing picnic-style lunch featuring sandwiches & wraps made with locally sourced ingredients. Vegetarian options are available, and the peaceful outdoor setting, surrounded by lush tropical greenery, offers the perfect spot to unwind, recharge, and enjoy the natural beauty of East Hawaii.

Visit the famous Big Island Candies factory in Hilo, sample their iconic chocolate-dipped shortbread cookies, and browse an array of handcrafted confections made with the finest local ingredients. It’s a sweet and satisfying stop to pick up gifts or indulge before heading back to Kona and Waikoloa.

Make a final scenic stop at Rainbow Falls, one of Hilo’s most photographed and iconic natural landmarks. This cascade plunges 80 feet over a lava cave said to be the home of Hina, the Hawaiian goddess of the moon. Easily accessible via a short trail, it offers a memorable way to finish up your day.
