Cousin Dave from Roberts Hawaii our tour guide was great, has an awesome sense of humour.
Visiting a Kona Coffee house, trying the different types of Kona coffee was educational. Also the macadamia fruit cake samples yummy .
The sacred refuge of Pu’uhonua o Honaunau National Historical Park so peaceful. Standing on the black sand beachfront beautiful.
Next stop was St Benedict’s Painted Church dating back to 1899, still standing and used for mass. Stunning.

Pu’uhonua O Honaunau National Park
An ancient Hawaiian village of refuge. The Pu’uhonua protected the kapu breakers, defeated warriors, as well as civilians during the time of battle.

- The tour is ADA accessible. Due to limited availability, we require that ADA vehicle reservations be made a minimum of 48 hours prior to date and time of service.
- For electric wheelchairs or scooters: The combined weight of the wheelchair and guest cannot exceed 500 lbs (226.5kg). and the maximum width of the wheelchair cannot exceed 29 inches (73.5 cm).
- Puuhonua O Honaunau is limited accessibility due to sandy surface.
- Children under the age of 4 are FREE and must be seated on an adult's lap. If the guardian requires a seat for a child under the age of 4, the regular rate will be applicable.

- The tour departs from Kailua, Kona Pier at 10:00 AM.
You must book your tender reservation with the ship at least 24 hours prior to tour time to ensure you are at the pier side in time for your tour pick-up.
Inform the ship staff that you require a tender reservation (a tender reservation is a reservation with another vessel that will transport you from the ship to pier side.)
