These sets of two lei are perfect for couples visiting for their wedding, on a honeymoon, or celebrating an anniversary! Your friendly greeter will wear a purple aloha shirt and meet you outside of your gate at the Maui Kahului Airport. You will enjoy a traditional fresh flower lei greeting as it is placed around your neck, and then offered assistance to baggage claim or given directions to your connecting flight. Experience the spirit of aloha with an authentic airport lei greeting!

Types of Hawaiian flower leis & garlands:

Classic Orchid Lei: The most popular option, the class orchid lei is a single strand of fresh orchids that are strung together in a beautiful Hawaiian floral garland.
Deluxe Orchid Lei: Using triple the amount of flowers compared to the classic orchid lei, this epic Hawaiian flower necklace is both lush and gorgeous.
Kukui Nut Lei: A kukui nut lei is a traditional Hawaiian garland made from the nuts of the kukui tree, also known as the candlenut tree. The nuts are polished and strung together to create a beautiful and durable lei that is both a long-lasting and wonderful accessory.
Ti Leaf Lei:Crafted from traditional Hawaiian green ti leaves, the ti leaf lei is made by twisting and braiding the leaves into a long open-ended rope that is draped over your shoulders, and a popular choice for gentlemen!

How does it work?

1. Choose the lei you like for each person in your group.
2. Share your flight details, recipient name and contact information.
3. Enter your payment details.
4. Look out for the confirmation email in your inbox.
5. Arriving in Maui at the Kahului Airport: Look for your greeter as you exit the terminal area, in front of the baggage claim entrance. They will be wearing turquoise and blue aloha wear, holding a welcome sign personalized with your names on it.

Can I order a lei greeting for my family or friends who will be visiting Hawaii?

Yes! Please make sure to inform the recipients (at least one person on the flight) to watch out for a sign with their names on it. This is crucial. Otherwise, travelers might just pass by the sign and not notice it! When you order your lei greeting online, make sure to provide the recipients' names, date of arrival, airline, flight number, and estimated arrival time.

Last Minute Booking Fee: A charge of $10.00 will be assessed when reservations are made within 48 hours of the requested time of the lei greeting.
We recommend placing your order as far in advance as possible. Orders must be placed at least 48 hours prior to the scheduled flight arrival time.

You can keep your flower and ti leaf lei fresh for days. Simply sprinkle them with water, place them in a plastic bag or container, and refrigerate. Kukui nut leis are not perishable and can be worn for years to come.

This activity is wheelchair accessible.
Wheel Chair Accessibility: All facilities at the Kahului Airport are ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) compliant.
A charge of $10.00 will be assessed when reservations are made within 48 hours of the requested time of the lei greeting.

Additional notes

Flowers selected for leis are based on freshness and availability.
Occasionally, substitutions of flowers are necessary due to availability.
If an airport greeting is not possible for whatever reason, leis will be delivered to the guest's hotel. Guests also have the option of choosing an Airport Departure Greeting instead, and departure flight is information required.
All participants must arrive on the same flight. Guests arriving on different flights must be booked separately.
Lei greeting service is at the Kahului International Airport only, not available from Kapalua-West Maui Airport or the Hana Airport.
Last possible lei greeting service at the airport is until 23:00 (11:00PM). If the guest's flight are delayed, Honolulu Lei Greetings will wait as long as the greeters are able.

Other requirements

If this is a surprise greeting, you must inform the recipient to look for a sign with their name on it. There will be no refund for missed greetings due to uninformed recipients.
Honolulu Lei Greetings and VELTRA.com - Hawaii Activities are not responsible for no-shows. Customer must be responsible to alert VELTRA.com - Hawaii Activities, or Honolulu Lei Greetings of any flight changes. No-shows are non-refundable.

Q. Are greetings recommended for those with allergies or sensitivity to fragrances?

A. For those with allergies and sensitivity to fragrances, we recommend booking the Kukui nut, Shell, Ti Leaf, Cigar or Purple Orchid leis. Leis made of Tuberose have a very rich and concentrated fragrance.

Q. How long will my lei last?

A. Leis made of purple orchid flowers will generally last a day and maybe even longer if well cared for. Spray your lei with water or cover with damp paper towels and store it in the fridge for later use. Ti leaf leis are considered good luck and can last much longer. With proper care, Kukui nut leis and shell leis can last forever.

Q. How will I recognize my greeter?

A. Your greeter will be standing in front of the baggage claim area with your name on a sign. They will be wearing purple and white aloha attire.

Q. What if my flight is delayed?

A. Your flight number and airline is being tracked so that your greeter will know your exact arrival time. In some instances, for excessive delays into after hours, greeters will try to deliver the lei to your hotel or arrange a departure greeting instead. However, any switches in flight numbers, please contact us right away.
