Local expert tips
- Make sure to wear closed-toe shoes and clothes you’re okay getting a little dusty since you’ll be riding through dirt trails and open fields.
- Bring sunscreen and a pair of sunglasses to stay comfortable out on the trail, since there’s not much shade once you're riding.
- Bring your camera or phone fully charged because there are lots of great spots to stop and take photos along the way.
- This tour is great for beginners, so you don’t need any ATV experience, but guests need to be at least 12 years old to join.
- Try to arrive about 20 to 30 minutes early so you have plenty of time to check in, meet your guide, and get set up with your helmet and safety gear.
- If you are coming from Kona or Waikoloa, plan a stop in Hilo Town before or after your tour to check out local shops and grab a bite at one of the nearby cafés or restaurants.
