We had a fantastic tour with a fun and experienced crew. Saw the sights, heard the history and made us want more. Thank you Kona and Captain for building our memories on Kauai. Those dolphins and whales provided a great show!
Remember if you wear hats to fasten them as the wind may well take them!

My husband and I took the ATV tour between rain storms last week. I think that made it extra special because of all the water we drove through. Our tour guides were very friendly and knowledgeable. They kept the tour fun and safe for all. The history behind Kipu Ranch and the many movies and TV shows filmed there was very interesting. The waterfall was very nice even though the pool below was muddy from all of the recent rain. I would highly recommend this tour. Even in our early 70's, we easily drove even the roughest terrain in the very comfortable and save Kawasaki ATVs!
Wear dark or throw away clothing. The red mud stains everything. Sunglasses are a plus.
While in Kauai with family we decided to try the Smith Family Fern Grotto River Cruise, which was an awesome choice of entertainment. We love history and learning about places we visit, so we were pleasantly surprised when the beginning of the cruise was a full narration of the interesting history and geography of the Waimea River. The crew led us to the breathtaking Fern Grotto and enhanced the experience with beautiful music. On the way back to the dock we were entertained with music and dancing, which was very fun. The trip ended much too soon! The cost was very reasonable. We would highly recommend this trip!

I set up to have a lei greeting and it was absolutely perfect. They text me to make sure they knew when we landed and were waiting for us when walked out. It was a great way to start the trip!
Eddy was great. Talked with us about the Island. The entire crew took good care of us and made the ride fun. Perfect Day!!

Loved the cruise to the Fern Grotto, the food was excellent and lots of it. The drinks were great. Above all were the performers. Wonderfully talented people that put on an action packed show of Hawaiian culture and traditions.

Fun activity for families. The tour operator does a good job of talking about the history of the area. Also, very scenic. Very worthwhile. Great job!
We had a wonderful time on the excursion. The staff were friendly and helpful. I loved the music and interaction with the staff on the boat. The Fern Grotto and the story told of the history was great!! I will definitely tell others about this great experience.
Cody and team were funny and attentive. The tubing was a blast. Definitely bring a long sleeve rash guard or if you get cold quickly seriously consider renting wet suit top. About 3 in our group of about 20 got quite cold. Rest of us were fine. This is a must do when on Kauai.
Bring sweatshirt on the bus for ride back. Do not leave food unattended at picnic area.
We used this service for 2 half-day tours on Kauai. It was a super great experience!
Scott, our guide and driver, was incredibly knowledgeable about the island and its history, as well as being an excellent wheel-man. He was very helpful especially in getting our canes and walkers out of the vehicle and re-loading them multiple times during the rides. He also went out of his way to take us to some excellent places we didn't know about, and the views were outstanding!

Great time kayaking down the river. Fun and muddy hike to a beautiful waterfall. We had lunch there and a swim and then started the trip back. Harrison was our guide so knowledge and helpful. Recommend this fun adventure.
Make sure you have good shoes for hiking in the mud.
Wonderful~! The whole trip was wonderful~! Guides and driver were funny and welcoming, knowledge about everything was great! Would do it again~! Tunnels were not confining for members of group who were worried about claustrophobia. Lunch was great! Saw little tiny piglets on our drive. Beautiful views, gear was in great condition, did rent shoes (worked great). Drive was lovely, Felt safe the whole time. Relaxed and had a Wonderful time!
Enjoyed the music and dancing as well as the informative narration. The natural beauty of the river and grotto is spectacular. Walking through the Rain Forest area gave you a sense of peace.
Well organized even if our party did not show up at same time. We were a party of 12. Dinner was efficient. No coconut cake tho. My son and his new bride got married that day and so the luau served as their reception. We were thrilled this couple was made note of. We were happy with our choice of luau. Maholo.

My family and I had an absolutely incredible time. The guides were amazing. The views were absolutely incredible. This is a must do when visiting the island.
Smith’s Family Garden Luau was a wonderful Kauai experience. The tropical garden setting was beautiful and inviting, creating a relaxing atmosphere.
The boat ride along the river offered beautiful views of lush tropical landscapes, and the live Hawaiian music and hula added an authentic, festive touch.
The show was engaging, energetic, and beautifully showcased the Hawaiian culture!
This outrigger canoe surfing ride was such a fun and authentic Hawaiian experience!!
The treetop ziplines were thrilling with incredible views, and the guides were professional, fun, and made safety a clear priority.
The Fern Grotto trip was a lovely experience from beginning to end. First: the price is right! There are so many expensive things to do on Kauai, but we thought the $35 per person fee was worth it. The boat is wide and very stable (no waves!!) and is covered overtop (no rain and no sunburn). However the sides are completely open and we enjoyed the air and very slight breeze. The captain gave nice narration on the way to the grotto with interesting facts about the area. On the trip back, there was a hula show with singing. It was more like a family show than a Hollywood production which was fine with us. I was amazed at the care and assistance provided to a lady in a wheelchair, several who had walkers, and some with canes. Once arriving at the Grotto, the boat crew guides you on a cement path to the viewing area. Then they sing the Hawaiian Wedding Song which was nice. My younger brother was married at the Fern Grotto about 40 years ago, so that was meaningful to me. There were restrooms at the Grotto area. No food or drink is served. Tour lasted a total of 2 hours. Plenty of parking.
We are so glad we started our vacation with a traditional lei greeting! The girls loved it, and grandma did too!! Dan was amazing to work with and so understanding when our flight was delayed and reassured us that he would be there to greet us. He was and it was so worth it to see everyone’s smile!! Would highly recommend and would do it again in a heartbeat! Thank you so much!!!
This was the perfect fit for us and our 3 year old. The boat is kid friendly and the fern grotto is easily accessible with a short walk on a paved path. Great opportunity to see something up river for those with small children or any mobility limitations.
