See Kauai’s crown jewel, the rugged and breathtaking Na Pali coast, then cross the channel to the Forbidden Island of Niihau. Sailing to Niihau is an adventure many never get the opportunity to experience, and this premier snorkel tour departing from Port Allen is the only boat cruise that goes there. Unspoiled and pristine, the coastlines of Niihau and Lehua crater are truly the hidden gems of snorkeling in Kauai. After exploring the underwater world at your secret dive spot, the crew will have a deli-style buffet lunch ready for you. Beer and wine are also served after snorkeling.

Why is Niihau called the Forbidden Island?

The Island of Niihau was purchased from King Kamehameha V in 1864 by the ancestors of the Robinson family, who now own the island. One of the requirements of the purchase of Niihau was the promise to preserve native Hawaiian language and Niihau's way of life. Since the purchase, the island has remained off limits to all but Niihauans born on the island: even Hawaiians from other islands are not permitted to visit.

What is Lehua Crater?

Often referred to as the Molokini of Kauai, Lehua Crater is the remnants of a collapsed volcano located to the north of Niihau. The crescent shape of the crater, similar to Molokini, offers an excellent spot for snorkeling and diving. This is one of the best snorkel locations in the entire state of Hawaii!
