Begin your evening with a shell lei greeting upon arrival at Smith’s Tropical Paradise. Guests can enjoy a narrated tram ride or stroll through 30 acres of botanical gardens near the Wailua River, once reserved for Hawaiian royalty. The setting provides the perfect start to your luau experience.
Watch as Smith's Luau family members uncover the kalua pig from the traditional underground oven known as the imu. This ceremony highlights an ancient Hawaiian cooking method that has been passed down through generations, offering guests an authentic cultural moment at the heart of the luau.
Relax with mai tais, wine, beer, or soft drinks at the open bar while the Smith family entertains with Hawaiian songs. The music creates a festive atmosphere as you mingle with other guests and prepare for the evening’s feast, enjoying the sounds of island traditions passed down through the music.
Enjoy a hearty and tasty Hawaiian buffet featuring kalua pork, teriyaki beef, chicken adobo, mahimahi, poi, lomilomi salmon, and tropical desserts. Traditional favorites are served alongside local specialties, all while live Hawaiian music creates the perfect atmosphere for your dining experience.
End the evening with the Rhythm of Aloha show in the open-air torchlit amphitheater. Experience colorful Polynesian performances featuring hula, Tahitian drum dances, and the dramatic Samoan fire knife. This vibrant showcase celebrates the cultures of Hawaii and Polynesia under the Kauai night sky.
The luau concludes with a heartfelt farewell, as torchlight fades and the night sky glows above Kauai. Guests return to Nawiliwili Harbor carrying the aloha spirit and memories of Hawaiian food, dance, and family traditions shared throughout the evening.

- Children of all ages can participate in this activity.
- The tour is ADA accessible, and due to limited availability, we require that ADA vehicle reservations be made a minimum of 48 hours prior to the activity date.
- For electric wheelchairs or scooters: The combined weight of the wheelchair and guest cannot exceed 500 lbs (226.5kg). and the maximum width of the wheelchair cannot exceed 29 inches (73.5 cm)
- This tour is available only to guests arriving on the Pride of America by Norwegian Cruise Line.
