The turtles and snorkeling was amazing. They are very knowledgeable about everything in the water and more. The girls went above and beyond to help the group of people that I went with. Amazing time!

Perfect family outing

They looked out for everyone’s safety but also made sure folks were having fun. Food was good and they had adult beverages for purchase. Very kid friendly - had child-sized snorkel gear and life jackets. The boat was very clean. Not to mention the beautiful landscape as your backdrop for swimming/snorkeling/turtle-watching…pictures can’t adequately capture just how breathtaking it all was. We didn’t want it to end!

Super fun!
Reviewed by: Sheena, 2022/03/28We had a great time on the lunch snorkel tour in Oahu! The trip is exactly as described. Hanging out on the sand bar was incredible and the turtle watching was stellar, we saw many turtles and even a large sting ray. Lunch was tasty and alcoholic drinks were $5 each. Crew was helpful and personable. The snorkeling around the reef was awesome! Bring lots of sunscreen, your own towels, an underwater camera or go pro for pics, and something easy and light to wear before and after getting in the ocean.

Amazing time for the whole family!!
Reviewed by: Patricia, 2022/03/12As a family of 3 young children (10, 7 and 20 months), we wanted to do at least one excursion on our trip and this was perfect for the 20 month old as she was able to swim in the sandbar! There were no issues taking the 40 minute bus and then the 10 minutes boat ride over to Kaneohe. It was very organized and clean! The staff were very professional and nice and when I emailed the company about bringing my baby’s float, they had no concerns! Kaneohe Sandbar was absolutely breathtaking and so beautiful! We even saw lots of sea turtles! We spent some time in the sandbar to swim and they even set up a volleyball net! They also come around and take pictures for you. While you’re out swimming, the other staff is preparing lunch. The food was pretty good too! Next stop was snorkeling and my husband said it was fun with the kids. They even rinse you off after you’ve finished. Definitely pack extra dry clothes as the bus gets cold - I read a review about that and it came in handy. I am definitely going to recommend this excursion to others.

Beautiful snorkel cruise
Reviewed by: Natalie , 2022/02/01The staff was outstanding. We spent the first part going out to the sandbar, playing volleyball ball, eating and drinking. The food was incredible (for being burgers and sides). Next we went turtle watching and saw some massive turtles and manta-rays.
After, we headed to a coral reef shaped like a crescent moon and got to swim around on our own looking at fish and turtles. I definitely wish there was more sea life. But it’s their home not mine.
After we cruised around where they filmed parts of Gilligans Island and saw some amazing houses.
Then we made our way back and couldn’t stop talking about the experience.

Amazing time and views!

Cooked yummy burgers. Took us turtle watching. And last we went to a reef to snorkel and got to snorkel close to turtles! It was amazing! Beautiful views! Makes for beautiful memories! We had the best time! Will def recommend everyone to try it!

Everything you could ask for!

We then had a nice lunch and cruised by some turtles. After all that we got to go snorkeling around a reef. They served alcohol on the boat to top off the experience. 10/10 would reccomend

The best snorkeling tour!
Reviewed by: Irene, 2021/12/25I’ve been to around 6-7 different snorkel tours and the experience at Bob’s tour is by far the best. The tour is well planned, faculties are pretty new and the crew attend to a lot of details - like you’ll get a shower right after you get out of water which helps a lot if you don’t like the sea smell & want to get warm and dry quickly. The lunch is also really delicious. They even provide hot chocolate after the snorkeling, not to mention the beautiful white sand, dozens of turtles and tremendous view at the snorkeling point. Mahalo for the great experience!

Best excursion we ever had.

We got lucky with weather and it was a perfect hot day out (also it's October so it's not scorching out)
Staff is experienced, fun & down to earth. They've been running the boat for a long time and train the younger staff themselves & they're very friendly.
They also have a lot of knowledge about the whole island but just the boat.
We went straight to the Sandbar on crystal blue water which there's lots of deck space to watch. We had the sandbar all to ourselves, set up a net and because our cruise ended up having less people and all adults, we all easily fit in and played a few games together in the middle of the ocean, honestly how much better and dreamlike can it get. We had a blast while others if not playing walked around the sandbar and enjoyed the amazing views.
Had a much needed lunch complete with some wine & enjoyed the sun.
We then went turtle searching and saw quite a few hanging out and breaching, but honestly having time to just enjoy the breeze and take in the views was great. Again, weather dependant but on a good day, boat is sturdy, hardly any rocking, nobody even looked remotely sick.
Then the snorkeling is on a pop up reef, so you can swim around the entire thing. Again, weather dependant but for us, crystal clear waters, some colourful fish, a nice lap in the water.
100% take the fresh water once or twice rinse after the snorkeling it'll make the rest of your boat time feel much more comfortable!
They served hot chocolate after and it warmed our bodies back up.
We all finished snorkeling rather early so instead of cutting our excursion short, they took us on a scenic route and gave us more sights and time on the boat.
Take this cruise if you're into some vball and snorkelling, those things alone & you'll love this!!

Come and try them out. If you want to see lots of turtles then you need to join them.
You will love them and I will definitely join them again on my next trip to Hawaii.

Amazing Experience

It was priced right, just the right amount of time, super amazing staff/guides, and the best value all around. The boat ride is peaceful and quick. The sandbar was amazing and gives you enough time to meet others or practice your snorkeling skills. Seeing the turtles was so exciting and plentiful. The actual snorkeling was really the highlight. It was absolutely beautiful. If you visiting Honolulu this is a must-do activity!

Perfect Sandbar Tour!

Great experience all around - even with COVID-restrictions
Reviewed by: Ivona , 2021/09/07We did a quick Hawaii trip from Dallas over the Labor Day weekend 2021 and only had 4 days, so our time for excursions was limited, however we are so glad we decided to do Captain Bob's Kanehoe Sandbar excursion.
The crew was super friendly and helpful, the boat ride was fun, with beautiful views throughout and the sandbar was an absolute highlight. The burgers & beer were good. During the snorkeling part we got lucky and see not only a ton of turtles (one swam right underneath us while we were snorkeling), but also a group of manta rays and of course tons of colorful fish.
Money very well spent for the value and experience received. If I could change anything at all, I would maybe spend a little more time at the sandbar itself and less time snorkeling, but that's just a personal preference - again, the tour was great. It could also be fun to offer this experience on certain days for adults only.
