Reviewed by: Jackie, 2014/04/01Despite the cloudy and Rainy conditions the staff made it an excellent and enjoyable experience! The sandbar volleyball was fun! The only critique I would have is to clean the bathrooms more regularly as they were backed up and it made the whole inside cabin smell.

Wonderful Activity

Kudos to the captain and his crew. Despite the choppy sea, he was able to find us a peaceful spot to do all activities. Standing at the sand bar was a very unique experience. I would do this tour all over again.

Absolutely Breathtaking!
Reviewed by: Phillip M, 2013/09/21The Kaneohe Bay Sandbar Captain Bob's Snorkel Cruise is, by far, one of the most amazing and fun tours I have taken during my visit to the beautiful island of Oahu! From lunch at the sand bar with a game of volleyball, to an area where we saw turtles of all sizes and a HUGE Manta Ray, to the coral reef for some snorkeling, the snorkel cruise was non-stop fun! The crew was so nice and I cannot thank them enough for their help, guidance, and dedication to making sure everyone had a great time! This will definitely be a tour I will go on when I go to Hawaii again. I definitely recommend this cruise!! :-)

Excellent adventure

It was a great adventure, the staff were great , we liked Jenner entertaining us on the bus going there, the Sandbar was great, the snorkel/fish was the best we have seen in Hawaii,, we saw turtles and the lunch was very tasty,,we had a great day,, well worth the money and then some.

Everyone was excited for a day on the water, even though the weather didn't look too great. The Sandbar was fantastic, it's a unique experience being in the middle of the ocean, walking around. My husband had NEVER snorkeled before and found it hard to put the experience into words; he saw fish he'd only ever seen in documentaries and he was fascinated by the colours and the way they would swim around him... he's now officially addicted. Lunch was really good; well organised, quick and tasty. Our little one kinda freaked out on the boat and the staff were great with cheering him up. Jenner played his guitar while we ate and I've never felt more relaxed and like I was "in Hawaii". We saw turtles, the coral reef we moved to after the sand bar was unbelievable - the marine life is abundant and a hot cocoa at the end of a day snorkeling in cooler water was a perfect e

Amazing people and amazing time!
Reviewed by: Stephen C, 2011/09/13First of all this was my first time snorkeling and my wife's 2nd or 3rd time! I was really nervous and the girls did everything they could to make sure I was comfortable in the water and made sure I had a great time! The sandbars were great! The best part where the surprise sea turtles! The reef was beautiful! We saw a ton of fish and a sea turtle! I highly recommend Captain Bob's to anyone! The music during the BBQ was great and so was the food! The girls where funny and really enjoyed what they were doing! If you guys go make sure to bring your sunblock!

Great Overall Experience
Reviewed by: Wanda, 2011/07/09Our experience with Captain Bob's Snorkel Cruise was awesome. The staff was laidback and friendly and made our experience great. They played volleyball on the sandbar with us, cooked us an awesome burger and gave great tips and help to make our snorkle experience the best. Could have done with a little less of Jenner's singing, since he seems to like to "ham it up" a bit too much.
I look forward to my next trip to Oahu so I can do this tour again.

Great to get out of Waikiki!
Reviewed by: Mr. Anonymous, 2011/06/29This was my second time on Oahu, and the first trip I mostly spent all my time in and around Waikiki. This tour was great in that it got me all the way to the other side of the island for a change of pace.
That side of the island....they called it Kaneohe Bay I think, man, it was beautiful. The water was so clear, and I got to see all kinds of fish I had never seen before too.
I didn't want to spend a ton of money either, and so this was a good deal for the price, as lunch was part of it...and tasted good too! The people were nice and helpful, and the sandbar was probably my favorite part. Good tour.

Great Snorkeling / Great Value

Allthough there are many choices for snorkeling you could take while in Hawaii, and on Oahu, I really think this was good for the price. The crew, the lunch, and especially the place where we snorkled - Kaneohe Bay. Fantastic! The sandbar was fun, I think they should spend more time there, or incorporate another tour that would be just for those wanting to lounge around on the sandbar and have some drinks and food. We are glad that we went on this activity, and would do it again!

Best day on the island!
Reviewed by: Amy, 2011/02/16I went on Captain Bob's Snorkeling Adventure with 4 friends last week and we all agreed that it was the BEST day we spent in Hawaii. The crew was FANTASTIC; fun, entertaining, knowledgeable, laid back... perfect!
The ocean volleyball and snorkeling at our own reef was a welcome change from the crowds in Waikiki.
I highly recommend this trip to everyone visiting Oahu! We have all decided to bring our kids and do this trip again on our next visit to the island.
Thanks to Daniel-son, Jenner, Macho Taco, Kelly and the rest of the crew for a perfect day!

Great Time
Reviewed by: Dawna, 2010/10/23My husband & I were coming to Oahu, Hawaii for the first time. He is a certified scuba diver, but hadn't done any snorkel or scuba for years. We wanted to do a snorkel trip, since he enjoys it. I had never snorkeled, & from the reviews I read, I thought this trip would be enjoyable for both of us.
We had a lot of fun - on the boat, in the water, talking with the crew & fellow "snorkelers." It is a great trip for beginners - you get good instruction & practice before you are taken to a coral reef.
Bonus: we got to see several Green Turtles on our way to the reef. We would do this trip again!

Best activity on O'ahu!
Reviewed by: Rosie, 2010/09/10I have been to a Luau, Sunset Dinner Cruise, Dinner Show.. quite possibly all over O'ahu! This is by far, the best activity I have ever done. The crew was very friendly and informative..Most of them are interns so they actually do their job for free!
Once we board the Barefoot 1 which is actually a pretty small catamaran but don't let this discourage you because once your on your way to the submerged sandbar..everything is perfect! Imaginine drinking a nice cold refreshment and for you alcoholic drinkers, a nice beer, out in the middle of Kaneohe Bay. Sitting on the Sandbar with the nice breezy tradewinds while taking in all the beautiful views!! TALK ABOUT RELAXATION!!
Once we had our freshly grilled burger lunch at the sandbar, we head pass toward Turtle reef, where we saw at least 10 huge sea turtles! Amazing time, Great experience
Reviewed by: Melissa, 2010/08/13I attended this snorkeling activity with my boyfriend (he had done it before and wanted to go again). Our tour guide on the bus was hysterical. So much fun and information was provided by him. I liked that he remained part of the experience by coming on the boat with us. The staffing was incredible as well. Tons of fun and very helpful. I was glad that they provided lunch as well. Quick and easy burgers, some fruit, sodas, etc. And of course, the snorkeling was beautiful! I would recommend it to anyone, of any age. If you can't swim, or haven't snorkeled, don't worry! They provide easy instructions to learn how to snorkel quickly, and they have both noodles and lifevests if you can't swim! You may even luck out and sight some sea turtles on your way to the reef!!! If you're considering this activity, go for it! You'll love it!

Fabulous Aquatic Adventure

The friendly crew of the Barefoot I made us feel welcome from the time we arrived at the dock. It was a very windy day, but, the catamaran was steady. The energetic, enthusiastic and entertaining crew covered the basics of snorkeling and equipment during our ten-minute cruise to the submerged sandbar in the middle of beautiful Kaneohe Bay. The sandbar stop was the perfect opportunity for first time snorkelers to practice in a comfortable environment and the waist-deep volleyball was a real hoot! The crew grilled our burgers and served lunch at the sandbar. Much to our surprise and delight our cruise director, Jenner, serenaded us with voice and guitar while we ate. A fun time

The staff is always lots of fun and playful and really care about the customers. They always make sure you have a good time and there is lots to see and do. If you don't want to snorkel, you are welcome to sun bathe on the catamaran, no one forces you to do anything.
The staff answers all questions and it's a very fun afternoon adventure.

Amazing Fun!

A Most Memorable Weekend

Captain Bob's tour was an adventure full of variety for even the local resident. The sandbar was amazing and a great place to start the activity. We were surprised at the size of the sandbar and even though our tour was a crowded we had ample space to enjoy our own privacy and each others company. There was also volleyball set up in the middle of the ocean for playing and group enjoyment.
We then went to a spot where we saw an abundance of sea turtles. As locals of Hawaii, turtles are no big surprise and are often seen in our waters everywhere. However, when we cruised over the area - they were such an amazing and beautiful sight, that we started to ooh and ahh!
The actual snorkeling was also an experience. The reef that we were brought to was private and well marked and preserved. It was beautiful to swim around the edges and explore. It was the

Most relaxing and unique time!
Reviewed by: Charity, 2009/09/12Captain Bob's was one of the highlights of our trip. The crew was very laid back and extremely helpful (served us beer in the water). One girl even got stung by a jellyfish and the captain carried her all the way back to the boat and immediately rendered first aid. 60 of us total and it was not crowded at all. Burgers were good, people were awesome and the snorkeling was spectacular. Saw a few turtles and other beautiful fish. Volleyball on the sandbar was pretty fun too!! All in all my husband and I really had a great time. Would highly recommend it to anyone!!!!!!!!

Beautiful scenery
Reviewed by: Danielle, 2009/04/27We really enjoyed the activity and the scenery was beautiful. It was great to view the island from a different vantage point. The friendly staff and food was great! It was definitely worth the money.You can be as active or as relaxed as you want to be.The staff was great with the kids.Unfortunately , it rained on our day so it kind of put a damper on things. The staff did their best to make it up to us. I would only recommend to bring extra clothes and a raincoat of some kind just in case.
