There was soooo much to do at the park we couldn’t even do it all. I wanted to see the birds and the sharks the most. I think the program was geared towards kids...so I let my inner child out to play. The sea lion of course was my favorite part. He was super smart and it was clear that him and the trainer had such a great relationship, almost like a little puppy eager to please. He did show more interest in the trainer than any of us, but that’s to be expected we even still got to pet him!

- Due to the physical nature of this activity, pregnant women are NOT allowed to participate in this program
- Anyone acting in a manner that threatens the safety of the animals, themselves, or other people (including; without limitation, unruly or disruptive behavior, or failure to follow directions), may be removed from the activity without a refund
- No cameras allowed in this program
- No jewelry is permitted when participating in the Sea Lion Encounter program. This includes, but is not exclusive to, necklaces, bracelets, hats, glasses, sunglasses, hair ties, rings, wedding rings, piercings, 3D nail art, etc. All items must be removed prior to participating in the program. If you don't remove any of these items, you will not be able to participate in the program, and no refund will be issued. No exceptions. This policy is for the safety and well-being of our resident animals.
- All guests must be in good physical condition. For disabilities, please contact reservations. A questionnaire will be required to be filled out by guest to assess and advise approval to participate in requested program. Q. Can I bring strollers, wheelchairs, and wagons into the park?
A. Sea Life Park allows guests to bring strollers, wheelchairs, electric scooters, and wagons into the park. Wheelchairs can be rented for $5 per day.
Q. What Am I Not Allowed To Bring Into Sea Life Park?
A. We kindly ask our guests to refrain from bringing alcoholic beverages, food, firearms, and pets into the park as these are strictly prohibited on our grounds. Please note that tobacco is not sold in the park and that smoking is only allowed in the parking lot, at Makapu’u Meadows, and in the Main Gate landing area.
Q. Can I store my belongings somewhere?
A. If you’ll be bringing any valuable items inside the park, we strongly suggest storing them in one of our rental lockers. Lockers are available to rent for $6 per day. Sea Life Park can not be held responsible for lost items, so please ensure they are safely stored during your visit.
Q. Is it safe to play with a sea lion?
A. While it is never advisable for any non-expert to interact with wild animals in their natural habitats, this particular sea lion has been carefully trained its whole life to be friendly and safe while interacting with humans. Make sure to follow all policies and instructions from your animal care expert/trainer, and listen to the safety briefing, to ensure a safe and enjoyable time for all.
Q. It says I have to check in at least an hour ahead of time. What do I do until the program starts?
A. Sea Life Park is full of things to do! Check out some of the other animal encounters, such as the reef lagoon or the aviary, or learn all about native limu (seaweeds). Or, if your party has some younger members, get some wiggles out at the Adventure Kids Play Zone.
