Local expert tips

• Children 8 to 12 years old must each be accompanied by a paying adult over 18 years of age.
• If other people are joining you during the visit, but not for the Sea Lion Encounter, they will still need to have tickets for admission to Sea Life Park, so be sure to purchase admission for them.
• Check-in starts one hour prior to your encounter, but you should feel free to arrive as early as you’d like so you can have time to explore the other park attractions, shows, and exhibits. For a full park experience, plan to arrive early! The park gates open at 10:00 AM.
• Swimwear is not required for this experience as you will not be entering the water to swim with the sea lion. However, there is water around and you will be touching and interacting with the animal so please bring clothes you don’t mind getting wet or dirty. Rinse stations and changing areas are available throughout the park for your convenience, so please bring your own towel if you would like to rinse off after the encounter.
• If you would like to bring a change of clothes or a towel, lockers are available for rent for a nominal daily fee. You can also use these to store items such as jewelry, hats, sunglasses, or any of the other personal items not allowed in the encounter.
• Recommend attire: Wear (or bring) something comfortable that you don’t mind getting dirty or a little wet! Also bring a towel if you would like to rinse off after your encounter.
• Nearby Hawaiian Attractions: There are plenty of other great attractions located nearby, which you can add to your itinerary after your park visit. Make sure to stop at the Blowhole Lookout and Makapuu Lookout, or check out the beautiful Ko’olau Mountains. Or, stick around for the Aloha Kai Luau featuring thrilling, world-class performances paired with a feast of authentic and delicious native Hawaiian cuisine.
