For guests taking transportation from Waikiki hotel: Please be at the designated area at least five minutes before the pickup time. Look for KBOS employees wearing Red or Blue T-shirts saying KBOS. If you are late for your pick-up, you will have to arrange your own transportation taxi at your own expense and no refunds or reimbursements will be provided.Parking information

If you are driving on your own, please be aware that parking is limited at Heeia Kea Small Boat Harbor. Arrive at least 15 minutes before check-in, as free public parking can fill up quickly. Be sure to park only in designated stalls to avoid a parking ticket or the possibility of being towed.

Q. How long is the boat ride out to the Kaneoha Bay Sandbar from Heeia Kea Boat Harbor?
A. Depending on the ocean and wind conditions, it is a 10 to 15 minute boat ride from the harbor to the sandbar.
Q. Is it better to go to the Oahu sandbar in the morning or afternoon?
A. Both times are equally fun and enjoyable, but you can look up the tide charts for your tour date to see when it is low and high tide.
Q. Are there life jackets available on board the boat?
A. Yes, there are life jackets for both adults, children, and infants on the boat to the Kaneohe Bay Sandbar.
Q. Will I need to wear a life jacket during the tour?
A. Guests will only need to wear a life jacket if they are participating in any activities. This includes, but is not limited to, SUP, kayaking, snorkeling, and the banana boat and tubing rides.

A. Yes, as long as there is availability, you can book a banana boat and/or tubing ride during your visit to the sandbar. You will need to pay for the services with cash or credit card, and prices are subject to change.

A. Yes, there are both restrooms and changing rooms, but there are no showers available to rinse off.
Q. How deep is the water at the Kaneohe Bay Sandbar?
A. Depending on the tide, the water can become so shallow that the sandbar is exposed, rising up to five feet high.
Q. Will you see turtles when you snorkel at the sandbar?
A. While Hawaiian green sea turtles are often seen while snorkeling at the sandbar, sightings are not guaranteed.

A. Yes, you can wear a full face mask when snorkeling, but guests should be aware of the various safety issues associated with using one including risk of carbon dioxide buildup, reduced breathability, sight issues, etc.
