Horseback riding in Hawaii, whether on Oahu or here on Maui, is truly relaxing. After a brief lesson on basic horse handling, we got to ride. I think there was an explanation before we mounted, but I couldn't catch it in English. Suddenly, the horse took off with a shout of "Alright, let's go! Hold on to the reins and saddle tight, GO!" I clung on for dear life, probably for just a few seconds? Afterward, the cowgirl asked me, "How was it?" and when I replied, "I was a bit surprised," she burst out laughing (^ - ^).

But the scenery was amazing! I thoroughly enjoyed the leisurely horseback ride. The friendly cowgirl took quite a few pictures for us too♪ I recommend wearing clothes that you don't mind getting a bit dirty, as there will be dust.

ごくごく簡単な馬の操作をレクチャーの後乗ります。
乗る前の説明があったのか？英語が聞き取れなかっただけだと思いますが、途中で「さあ走るよ！手綱と鞍しっかり掴んでね、GO!」といきなり馬が走り出します。
必死にしがみついて、多分数秒ぐらい？
走ったあと、カウガールに「どうだった？」と聞かれ「ちょっとびっくりした」というと大笑いしてました(^-^)

でもまあ景色は最高！のんびり乗馬を存分に楽しめました。
写真もけっこう何枚も撮ってくれて、気さくなカウガールでしたよ♪
土煙で汚れるので、少し汚れてもいい服装で行かれることをお勧めします。

Spectacular Haleakala Sunrise Tour with Park Admission & Breakfast at Cafe O'Lei

We were picked up at our hotel at 3:00 am as promised and then taken up the mountain to see the sunrise. We were lucky as it was a clear day and we got to see the sunrise without issue. Once we arrived at the site, we were given coffee and danish to warm us up. We then took our place with the others and saw the magnificent view. We then got back on the bus and went up to the summit to take a few more pictures. On the way down our driver stopped at two more scenic points so that we could see down into the crater. It was quite a view. At the end of the trip, we were taken to a restaurant on a golf course and fed breakfast. The entire trip lasted about 7 1/2 hours. My one complaint would be that the bus was small and the seats were very tight. Some of the taller and larger people on the bus really had to be uncomfortable for the entire ride as two people could not fit comfortably in one row and there was no leg room at all.

However, I am still reviewing because we were devastated we couldn't go and Veltra was so helpful in assuring us of a full refund and gave us ample notice. Bravo to them :) SO disappointed!

A friend of mine recommended the Molokini Snorkel & Turtle Town Cruise. It was a first for all of us snorkeling and the crew set aside time to tell us what we needed to know. They did an excellent job and made sure they stayed close to the children. All equipment needed was available and demonstrated. The continental breakfast and lunch were very good and arranged in an appealing manner. The crew was very attentive to everyone on board. We had a great time and when we return, will definitely do it again....

A must do on a trip to Maui

I went on the afternoon excursion. Haleakalā was not visible because of clouds that had come in, but the pilot had said there was good visibility that morning. Instead we spent more time getting wonderful close ups of magnificent waterfalls. The helicopter was beautiful and only 4 weeks old. Blue Hawaiian staff were great. The second half of the trip was the luxury van along the road to Hana, this van had only 6 passengers which made for a nice intimate trip. Our driver Kelly, was fantastic, knowing the road very well, as he has been driving it on excursions for over 20 years. We stopped places most do not get to see. I highly recommend this trip and it was one of the highlights on this trip.

I went on this ride several years ago and it was even better than I remembered. We got to see a sunken ship. We saw several different kinds of fish as well as a few sharks. We had a really good time. You can tell that the people who do this for a living really love their jobs! If you are going to Maui and do nothing else this is the one thing you ABSOLUTELY must take part in!

I expected it to be bigger & have more to it but the experience was still really nice & you get to see some really interesting species along with a hammerhead shark, turtles & the tunnel where they fish, stingrays & sharks swim all around you.

I participated on the first day of my trip.
The show during the sunset was wonderfully beautiful.
Also, there were no other Japanese people around us, which made me feel like I was abroad and I really enjoyed it.
The host asked the couples celebrating their wedding anniversaries how many years they had been married, and there was a surprise where everyone celebrated together. I was particularly moved by the couple celebrating their 54th anniversary who shared a sweet kiss.
I definitely want to go when I get married!
As for the food... the bread was fluffy and delicious, but the other dishes had an American feel and weren't very tasty.

I enjoyed the ride very much. It is a very beautiful ranch to see. I recommend taking the morning ride (the one we took), since it does get very hot as the day goes on. My horse was a very good follower and listened good. Our guild was fun, information, and funny. If we needed any kind of help he was right there when you asked. He also was a very good photographer for all of us when we stop to take pictures. I would also recommend being in the front so it isn't so dusty. I was in the back and got dusted out a few times so I just kept my distance from the person in front of me and it was fine after that. Did I mention how beautiful the views were? Also, the drive there seems like you've gone too far but you can't miss the gates with the Mendes Ranch name on it. Small parking lot so park by the entrance, for easy exiting. The whole staff was very nice and helpful. I would definitely do this again!

It was a garden party filled with a variety of events held around sunset. The venue was a top-notch scenic spot where we could enjoy various shows and a buffet meal while watching the sunset over the sea. Additionally, the performers seemed to be a lineup of stunningly handsome men and beautiful women. Most participants were from the mainland United States, and since the event was conducted entirely in English, my grandmother, who doesn't understand much English, might have been a bit confused.

I saw three shooting stars. After that, the sky gradually brightened, and I was able to see the sunrise I had longed for. The summit is very cold, so it's better to prepare for the cold. (Even with a T-shirt, Heattech, fleece, scarf, and gloves, it was still quite chilly.) I actually wanted to go on a Japanese tour, but I couldn't book it for the desired date... However, I really wanted to see the sunrise. I was anxious about the English tour, but coffee and bread were provided on the bus, and I was able to achieve my goal of seeing the sunrise. There was no explanation about the stars, but if you're just looking to see the sunrise, I recommend it. After the sun rises, they take you to a scenic viewpoint. I was also satisfied with the breakfast after descending the mountain. The scenery was truly magnificent.

Bob and I went to Maui to have an amazing anniversary trip and this was the highlight of our trip. The personal attention that we received from our tour guide, Ed, was beyond expectations. We learned about the island and it was in a pleasant atmosphere. The sights and weather were beautiful and we will never forget the time we spent on this trip. The Orchid farm was awesome and the owners were very informative. My orchids were delivered after I returned home and they greet me each morning with the beautiful smell and sights of them. This was the best hours of our trip and we enjoyed every moment of it. Thank you Ed for making our anniversary one to remember.

Our guide Ed was very informative throughout the tour. I would recommend taking a tour rather than driving it, the bus drivers know the roads well so you feel safe. Other people have mentioned it was a bumpy ride but i didnt think so. There is nothing much in Hana itself, its more the journey getting there, great scenery...

We participated as a family with our children (ages 8, 10, and 12). After a brief explanation, we immediately started trekking on horseback, one by one.

We went down steep slopes and galloped up, just moving forward continuously.

The horses were very calm and experienced, so it was probably fine, but I must admit I was a bit anxious at first. However, the children seemed to enjoy themselves wholeheartedly without any fear. By the end of the one-hour trek, I was completely relaxed and able to enjoy it as well.

The guides were all cheerful and friendly, which made it fun. They even spoke a little Japanese.

Overall, it was an incredibly enjoyable experience with the stunning backdrop of the ocean in Maui!!!

We were excited to try snuba for the first time as a family of five, but the boat rocked quite a bit, and one of the kids ended up with severe seasickness, so we couldn't really enjoy it in the end.

Both my husband and I can speak some English, so we thought we would be fine without a Japanese guide. However, we couldn't keep up with the explanations and jokes about snuba due to the loud engine noise on the boat, and we regretted that decision.

The visibility of the fish wasn't as good as we had hoped, and we were imagining schools of fish around coral reefs like we saw in the Philippines, so it didn't reach the level of being impressive for us. I think it would have been the same with snuba. (However, there were participants who were amazed, so this is a subjective impression.)

Also, the seawater was quite cold, and we felt very chilly after getting back on the boat, so thick towels and warm clothing are essential.

On a positive note, we finally got to see a sea turtle from the boat towards the end, which was rewarding! It was adorable.

So, for us, the satisfaction level wasn't very high this time, but that doesn't mean the tour itself was bad.

The staff were really kind, cheerful, and cool, and they were considerate of our seasick daughter, which made our experience very pleasant. Other participants also seemed to be having a great time.

If you're not worried about English and seasickness, I think you'll definitely enjoy it!

スヌーバに初挑戦しようと張り切って家族５人で参加しましたが、船がかなり揺れたため、子どもの一人がひどい船酔いになってしまって、結局それどころではありませんでした。

夫も私もある程度の英語はできるし、日本語のガイドさんがいなくても大丈夫かな？と思って参加したのですが、スヌーバの説明やジョークなど、エンジンの音がうるさい船上では全くついていけず後悔しました。

期待したほどに魚影も濃くなく、フィリピンで見た様なサンゴ礁に群がる魚群を想像していた私たちにとっては、感動というレベルではありませんでした。
スヌーバでも、それは同じだったのではないかと思います。
（でも、参加者の中には、スゴイ！と感激している人もいました。これは主観的な感想なので、なんともいえません）

また海水が結構冷たくて、船に上がってからとても寒かったので、厚手のバスタオルや防寒着は必携です。

でも、ウミガメには、終わりがけにやっと船の上から会うことができたので、報われました♪可愛かったです。


今回、そんな訳で、私たちにとってはあまり満足度は高くありませんでしたが、ツアー自体が悪かったわけでは決してありません。

スタッフのみなさんは本当に親切で明るく恰好よく、船酔いした娘にも気遣ってくれたり、とても気持ちよく過ごすことができました。ほかの参加者もみんな楽しそうでした。

英語と船酔いに心配がない方であれば、きっと楽しめると思います！

It was advertised as a BBQ lunch included, but even though the morning group started their lunch, I was never called over and ended up just watching with my fingers crossed...

My shyness and lack of confidence in English held me back, and in the end, I ended up riding without lunch.

Fortunately, the horseback riding experience was very satisfying.

I hope that in the future, there won't be any more situations like this for Japanese people.

Loved the crew, had a great time. We had a small tour of 12 which was nice and made for tons of room on the boat. Molokini was ok. Tons of boats in that area so I thought it was too crowded, however visibility was amazing saw tons of fish. Loved makena and the turtles. Only saw 4 total but totally worth it. Good lunch and breakfast, good Mai tai's too. As I said good crew made the day more enjoyable. Definitely recommend over the bigger tours.
