This was our 2nd luau during our trip. Unfortunately, it was only mediocre. With the setting beside a Hotel, it lacked any cultural flavor. The emcee was just that. We felt like we were watching a performer. The food was lack-luster but the performers were amazing ! The mai tais barely qualified as "cocktails". Would not recommend this luau unless it's your best choice for convenience.

The sunset cruise we took was awesome. They have excelled my expectation on every aspects: the boat, crew, food, entertainment, etc. The cruise ended with the beautiful Hawaiian sunset over the vast Pacific Ocean. We even got to see a pod of dolphins as a bonus. I'll recommend this to anyone who is looking for a nice all-around sunset cruise. Mahalo!

This was out first Luau and after reading other reviews, knew this was the one for us. From 5:00pm to 9:30pm we had the time of our lives. All the activities before dinner were so much fun. Kids loved everything as did us adults. The dinner itself was fantastic. The Pork was some of the best I have ever had. The dancers and the show was excellent. Well worth the money we paid. Would do it again in a heartbeat.

To my surprise, everyone on the bus was foreign! We were the only Japanese people. The guide was of Japanese descent and spoke Japanese, which was helpful. However, the conversation on the bus was in English, so I couldn't understand what they were talking about, but it was definitely lively. I was glad to have a little chat with the two beautiful women sitting in front of me! The show was great, and the various activities before the show were also enjoyable.
Thank you very much, guide. If there’s another opportunity, I would appreciate your assistance again.

On July 2nd, The historical sunset cruise we took was fabulous right until the end but we were very disappointed that the captain elected to dock five minutes too soon. A fantastic sunset was in the making and if we had slowed down five minutes we would have been treated to a terrific sky. Everyone with a camera was out on deck with cameras ready, and we just pulled right in to dock watching the sun slip behind the island instead of over the water where it would have been had we stayed out five more minutes. I know for certain many others were unhappy with this handling of time. Why we had to dock so quickly is a mystery to me.

Since I came to Hawaii, I wanted to experience the essence of Hawaii, so I chose a luau show.
I drove there with a rental car. The parking fee was only $5 after getting a stamp at the luau reception.
Before the show started, there were various experience corners like a coconut breaking demonstration, leaf crafting, and practicing with fire dance batons.
I even chatted with some Americans sitting next to me in broken English...
Ah, it was a moment when I really felt like I was in a foreign country! I felt like I was in Hawaii! ♪

I participated with my daughter, who is in the second year of junior high school. I knew this tour would be quite an adventure for Japanese people, but it exceeded my expectations as a native tour. On the large bus, we were the only Japanese, and after the guide mentioned that they didn't understand Japanese, there was not a single word of Japanese for the entire 7 hours. I was quite confident in my English skills, but the rapid-fire talking on the bus, the American jokes, and the translations couldn't keep up. Moreover, the guide encouraged a sense of camaraderie by suggesting handshakes and shoulder rubs with our neighbors to liven up the party (luau)! This was also true at the venue, where we sat at tables by bus, making communication essential. It was challenging in many ways, but it was a fresh Hawaiian show even for me, who has been to Hawaii five times. As someone else wrote, the important thing is to remember your bus number and return time (around 9:30). Once you arrive, there are many free activities until meal time, so participate actively! There are shows like climbing palm trees and net fishing signaled by the conch shell, so be sure to check those out! It's important to participate actively. The Polynesian Cultural Center explains the history and differences of the islands clearly, but this tour was all about participation centered around dance, so they can't be compared. It was a tour that made me truly feel the American spirit of enjoying the moment. If you can think, "It's okay if I don't understand English," it becomes easier. It might be better to have a larger group to enjoy together!

The Smith family embraces you with their Hawaiian charm as soon as you meet them! The river trip to the Fern Grotto was a beautiful experience. We were celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary so when the singers sang the Hawaiian Wedding Song it was very special! The Hula dancer on-board was not only beautiful, but very talented as well. Even my husband participated in the learning of the Hula dance - much to my delight! I would do this trip again if ever given the chance. Truly memorable!

I ordered this as a surprise for my daughter. Didn't catch the greeter's name as we were exhausted, but her friendly face was waiting right by the exit gate with a sign that had my daughter's name clearly marked. Our flight had been delayed, and while she was friendly, she appreciated that we weren't feeling our best. I ordered the standard lei for my daughter hoping it wouldn't set off her allergies. Smelled great, looked beautiful and no reaction. She took us to baggage claim and made sure we had transportation to the hotel. I would definitely do this again for other friends or family coming to visit.

Not really what i had expected. I found it to be rather boring. Would have really liked to see more of the Men dances than there was. Didn't really care for all the other country style dances was really looking for more of a Hawaiian, Polnysian style luau. The fire dance was cool. Think kids would find this show rather boring. The plantation was really really pretty i would recommend that you tour that.

I'm not sure if there was a misunderstanding or what, but our driver ( I also paid for transportation) said that our guide couldn't make it, so he took us on a tour when we got there. I felt the tour was rushed and not very impressive. I suppose for the half day, you shouldn't expect much.
He then took us to dinner a little late, and we were seated in the waaay back of the line, which makes a difference. The tables go to the buffet in order, so if you are towards the back, it's slim pickin's. The buffet itself was average, although considering what we paid, was below average for the price. I didn't get to see anything of the cooking of the pig or anything about the traditions, again, maybe because I was late.
