It was early in the morning and the outside was completely dark, so I felt quite anxious about interacting with the locals. However, once it was over, it turned out to be a very smooth tour. The driver was really friendly and cheerful, and he provided appropriate advice while mixing in some jokes, which was a great help. When we reached the summit, it started to rain heavily, and we ended up soaking wet on the way down. However, the view from the top was amazing, and that moment when I could see the entire cityscape of Waikiki was truly moving.

What an amazing experience! We had the perfect weather conditions to watch an amazing sunset and an absolutely clear night to see the stars. BUT what made this trip unforgettable is James our tour guide. He is funny knowledgeable and kind. He made sure we were able to capture moments throughout our trip. He is an amazing photographer and was intentional in capturing our photos with the sunset and with the millions of stars! You have to book your trip with Hawaiian Eyes Tours.

I waited 30 minutes for the bus from the airport to the hotel. That was still okay, but despite the fact that the Ramada Plaza Hotel is relatively close to the airport and near Ala Moana Center, the bus took a long detour, dropping off everyone else before stopping at the hotel. It should have taken less than 30 minutes if it went straight, but it took 1 hour and 20 minutes, which made me really angry.

The return trip from the hotel to the airport was just as bad. I waited and waited, and when I called, they said it would arrive in about 20 minutes, but it ended up being about 50 minutes late in total. The meeting point was supposed to be the "hotel front rotary," but they only came to the road in front of the hotel and apparently left without even looking for me. If I hadn't called, they probably would have never come. I will never use this service again.

I participated in the Mauna Kea stargazing tour led by the tour guide Yorkie. It was great that Yorkie could speak Japanese, allowing us to hear explanations about the constellations in our language. During the drive up to the summit, he reminded us several times about measures to prevent altitude sickness, and we all practiced deep breathing together. Thanks to that, we were able to enjoy the tour energetically. The sandwiches were delicious too. He also shared a lot of information about local shops! It was a fantastic tour where we got to see the best sunset and starlit sky, and I was very satisfied.
