It was my first time on a helicopter. I boarded it thanks to the opportunity provided by "Tōdai Ō." We were blessed with great weather, with no wind or clouds, making it a very elegant journey.
It was quite a distance from Kona, and the round trip was challenging. However, I highly recommend it as we got to see the crater from above, as well as the beautiful ocean and ʻōhiʻa lehua. It was an exhilarating two hours from start to finish.

人生初のヘリコプターでした。東大王がきっかけに搭乗しました。お天気に恵まれ、風も雲も無く、とても優雅な旅になりました。
コナから距離があり、往復は大変でした。ですが、火口を上空から眺めたり、綺麗な海やオヒアレフアを見れたり、おすすめです。終始大興奮の2時間でした。

What a thrill it was to fly over the various lava fields and craters on this lovely island. The pilot was very informative and told us stories about some of the people who were affected by these lava flows. He also explained what had happened in the past and what is happening now to the changing landscape as we viewed from above. A highlight of our trip for sure!

From the moment we took off to the theme song of Hawaii 50 (one of my highlights), this ride was sensational. From the front row, we soared over volcano craters, lava flows, waterfalls and macadamia nut farms. To miss out on seeing Big Island from the air in a helicopter is to miss out big time. Save money in every way you can before your holiday to include this in your Hawaiian itinerary. Sara our pilot was super friendly and very knowledgeable about everything we saw below us and very keen to answer all our questions. Although I wondered if the ride would be scary, it was not at all. We sat in comfortable chairs, safely buckled up, and soared through the sky as if on a magic carpet. This helicopter ride was one of the best activities I've ever done in my life and I will never forget it. Thank you to everyone who worked to make this a wonderful experience.

We did the ATV/waterfall Tour as a 4 rider with my husband and my 4 and 8 year old daughters. We wanted excitement and fully expected that to come with some dirt/mud. It did not disappoint! And thankfully they have warm showers available to clean up after. You have options to ride on a quad solo or in a Razor 4x4 vehicle with 2 or 4 passengers. There had been much rain which made challenges for the trails, but the guides worked it out and made sure it was a good time. Andres and Rudy (sorry if I didn’t spell that right) were great. They were very helpful with the small kids making sure they were safe. Due to the extensive and prolonged rain we weren’t able to play in the waterfall, which was a disappointment since that was something we were really looking forward too, but understandable. I wish we would have also done the zip lines and giant swing. Both Looked awesome! Next time for sure!

Tip: wear closed toed water shoes so they can be easily washed off and dried.

The tour was wonderful! Rob, our guide, was very knowledgeable and friendly. We had plenty of time at each of the stops, and really got to explore the island. The hikes in Volcanoes National Park were easy, and we got to see a variety of areas and sites. The waterfalls and black sand beach in the afternoon were beautiful. Absolutely loved the day and the tour!

The overall experience was very good. This is our first Helicopter ride and it turned out to be an excellent one. Though we did not get to see real fire ( no active lava in Hawaii now), we could see the steaming volcano at close up. The pilot Steve was very good, answering all our queries with patience. The narrative was good throughout the trip. Overall 50 minutes was worth the money. I paid additional $100 for copilot seat which was on higher side. This is one reason why I rated 4-star and not 5-star.

If you have small children, I think 15 minutes is enough. They don't have much concentration.

I have the impression that helicopters are expensive no matter where you ride them in the world, but I think it might be a good experience in life.

To be honest, you can see similar scenery from a Cessna, but taking off straight up without a runway feels different!

ヘリは世界中どこで乗っても高いなと言うイメージがありますが、、人生の経験としてあったほうが良いかな？とおもいます。

正直な所、セスナでも同じような風景は見れますが、助走無しで上に飛ぶのはまた違う気がします〜！

What an amazing experience! It was so interesting to learn about the volcano, the island and all the beautiful landscapes. It made me want to learn more about it all. Our pilot was very professional and fun. He had a plethora of knowledge about the island and we felt very safe in his hands. It was a fabulous tour.

It was very impressive that a tour guide has shared a lot of stories about cultures of Hawai'i during the entire tour program. The courses were absolutely nice. The view of a coffee farm was so beautiful and the dinner was much nicer than I expected. When it comes to stargazing tour, the tour guide moved the spot for better sightseeing and it was brilliant. Even though I am not a native speaker, I fully enjoyed this tour program and I highly recommend this one to everyone.

The staff, Scott, Skippy and co were fantastic. Very entertaining as well as thorough and confident in their jobs. My first 4 lines were horrible (I nearly pulled out), very rough and uncomfortable. After #4 Skippy realised my trolley was broken and gave me his own which made the rest of my journey much more comfortable, although I think he may have walked the rest of the track home.... thanks Skippy :)

The staff only speaks English and doesn't understand Japanese at all, but it works out somehow. The zip line above the waterfall is really beautiful. It gradually gets longer. The staff is young, but they work hard. It was disappointing that the photos, which were supposed to be sent via email, were not sent.

説明は英語だけ一切日本語わからないスタッフですが　なんとかなります。ここだけ　滝の上ジップしてすごく綺麗です。だんだん長いジップになります。スタッフも若いですけど一生懸命やってくれます。写真はメールで送るとのことでしたが　送られなかったのは残念でした。

The weather was worrisome with many clouds, but the sky tour was amazing.
I wonder how the back four-seat area feels when you're in the middle?
Sitting in the front passenger seat made me feel like a pilot.

After reading the detail for this tour we were extremely disappointed with what we experienced. We were a party of 4 who were split over 2 different tours. We thought this was due to weight restrictions which we couldn't understand because we are all average but in hindsight realise it was because we all wanted doors off. The pilot was great gave lots of detail and interesting facts. The flight was wonderful experiencing doors off just unfortunate the tour has not been revised since the lava stopped flowing and you spend the majority of the flight flying over blacken ground which becomes boring very fast. We were looking forward to seeing the waterfalls but this was a quick fly over and back to base so felt let down with this also. We had another couple on our flight as did my sister on her flight and all eight of us were extremely disappointed with what our tour delivered for the cost. The company really need to change the itinery for this tour to make it an experience to remember as it obviously once was when the lava was flowing.

Since my mother has difficulty walking, a tour that involves a lot of walking was not possible, so I signed up for this one. It takes about an hour and a half to drive from Waikoloa, but the road is almost straight, so I was able to get there without any mistakes using Google Maps. There are no doors, so the wind comes in strongly, making it quite cold. My mother seemed to really enjoy the best position next to the driver, as she could see both the front and the surroundings. We were also able to see how the lava flows into the sea while circling around the crater. Definitely worth it!

足が悪い母がいるので、がんがん歩くツアーは無理なので、こちらに申し込みました。ワイコロアからレンタカーで1時間半くらいですが、ほぼまっすぐの道なので、Google mapで間違いなくいけました。ドアなしなので、風はガンガン来ますので、寒いです。母は運転手のとなりのベストポジションで前も周りも見えてすごく楽しかったみたいです。火口もくるくる回ってくれて、海にどのように溶岩が流れていくかも見れました。価値あり！！

This was a great helicopter ride over volcanoes, waterfalls, and the rain forest. The staff treated us great, including safety procedures. I can say I was nervous. However, the staff was assuring to me along with making sure all of us were safely seated. I highly recommend this excursion. It was a great day. Love, love, loved it. I would do this again.

Take the 'Plunge, have a go. An efficient team, supportive, knowledgeable and local. We, 4 of us, all enjoyed the experience, always felt safe. If you haven't experienced zip lining before (We all had) this was a great way to be introduced and build up to the longer and higher lines. Great views, a fun time.

It was amazing! Jamie and Elijah were wonderful guides! Such a magical way to experience the beauty of Hawaii! It was the perfect amount of time and the most beautiful scenery. Great for all ages! 10/10 recommend!

Fun, exciting ride...fascinating volcanic sites and amazing number of waterfalls!

The flight time passed in the blink of an eye!
It was my first experience in a helicopter, and I really enjoyed it.
I think it would be great to take more rides and land near volcanoes and waterfalls.
We chose this option due to budget constraints, but we are still satisfied!
I was worried about my English not being very strong, but I felt connected to nature, and the time flew by, so I think it won't matter for those who are anxious about language.
We gathered early in the morning at Hilo Airport, and since we were staying on the Kona side, we drove there in the morning.
I have a bitter memory of getting pulled over by the police for speeding on the way, so for those who might be thinking the same, please be careful with the change of speed limit signs...

フライト時間があっという間に過ぎました！
ヘリコプター自体始めての体験でしたが楽しめました。
もっとのって、火山や滝やらで降りるほうも良さそうだなと、改めて思います。
我が家は予算の都合で
こちらにしましたがそれでも満足しています！
英語そこまで強くないのも心配でしたが、自然を感じていて、あっという間でしたので語学が不安な方でも関係ないと思います。
朝早くにヒロ空港集合で、コナ側に宿泊していましたので車で朝のドライブがてら向かいました。
道中で警察にはられていて、スピード違反になった苦い思い出がありますので、同じように考えられてる方は標識の変わり目運転ご注意ください。。。

We participated as a family of five. The pilot was not Japanese, but he provided polite guidance, which made us satisfied. The explanations about the shapes and colors of the lava were also easy to understand.

家族５人でさんかしました。パイロットは、日本語ではありませんでしたが、丁寧に案内して下さり満足でした。
溶岩の形や色の違いの説明も分かり易かったです。

My son and I had the best time ever. The instructors/guides were experienced and made the ride exciting. The water fall swim was perfect.... Can't wait to get back to Hawaii to experience their ziplines.

Please be sure to pack a separate set of cloths because it can get very messy....

My 7-year-old son was also very excited.
The atmosphere was great as we went through nature.
The feeling of heading towards the vast ocean at the end was wonderful.

I was really looking forward to the zip line.

I felt anxious participating since there were only English-speaking instructors, but my son was shocked to hear the other American participants and the instructors laughing and talking together. He heard someone say, "I'm a monkey from Japan, yay!" ... My son is 12 years old and understands a little English conversation. Fortunately, the female instructor was a bit considerate. It's very disappointing, but I have no words to express it.

ジップライン 大変楽しみにしていました。

英語のインストラクターしかいない事に不安を感じつつ参加しましたが、 英語を話せない日本人という事で、 参加している他のアメリカ人の参加者とインストラクターが話をして大笑いしている内容を聞いて息子がショック受けていました。 「 私は日本から来た猿ですウキウキ！」との発言をしている言葉を聞いて・・ 息子は12歳ですが英会話が少し解るのです。 女性のインストラクターが少し気を使って頂けたのが幸いでした。 非常に残念ですが 話す言葉がありません。

Sarah was the Most informative pilot ever out of our 6 helicopter experiences in Hawaii. The views of the craters at Volcano National Park we’re amazing and the number and size of the waterfalls at the end was unexpected and spectacular. All in 45 minutes! We drove the saddle road from Waikoloa for an hour and forty minutes to take the helicopter out of Hilo for a much lower cost than from the Kona side.

My husband and I moved to Kailua-Kona last year and are still in discovery mode, so we were happy to play tourist for a day to join this tour. Although the rides were long (it is a big island), the stops were all interesting and worthwhile, the other guests were friendly and engaged, and - notwithstanding all of our pre-move diligence and studying - we learned a ton from our fabulous tour guide, Kent. Kent was extremely knowledgeable, enthusiastic, engaged, warm, and courteous - we thoroughly appreciated the positive impact he had on the day's adventures.

Professionals at work!
Booked the eco star helicopter and had a grwat quiet flight with very good views from the back window and middle seat.
Weather was good so we had a clear view.
The pilot expained everything well and I felt safe at all time

Chad and a guys name I can’t remember (lol, sorry guy but he was nice) met us at the general store and took us to the Blacksand beach. At first, my wife was very claustrophobic and was having trouble snorkeling but Chad worked with her and was very patient and before long she was swimming like a guppy! We had a wonderful time and saw a bunch of turtles! I recommend this tour. It was better than what the cruise ship offered for less money. We would definitely go again.

This was an amazing excursion for our family! We have visited Hawaii several times, but this was our first horseback riding experience. It definitely did NOT disappoint! The guides were patient and helpful throughout the trip. They gave a detailed safety briefing and Jaime took time with my younger daughter to practice a few commands so she would feel more comfortable. The views during our ride were beautiful and breathtaking at times! We had a great time at the waterfall as well. There was plenty of time to swim, play in the waterfall, kayak and use the paddle boards. They also had life jackets if needed. I could go on forever about how much we loved this trip! I highly recommend it for anyone who is looking for a fun way to see the beauty of this island.

This was a great experience for the entire family. Our two girls did not have any riding experience and were really nervous. The guides gave a very detailed safety briefing and made sure the girls were comfortable before the trip started. The guides were always close by to help them guide the horses when needed. The scenery on the entire trip was the most beautiful I have seen since being on the island. The stop at the waterfall was incredible. We had plenty of time to enjoy the paddle boards, kayaks and swim under the waterfall. This experience was the highlight of our trip and I highly recommend to those considering it. I recommend wearing pants if you have them.
