The cool thing about this helicopter flight is that you get to see a lot of volcanoes national park in a relatively little amount of time. Especially since the lava wasn't flowing a lot that day, flying over the greyish lava wasteland made it a lot easier to spot minor lava flows (see picture).

Since it was raining that day, there was too much steam for us to fly directly over the caldera, but otherwise the flight was great. If conditions are stable, I definitely recommend a helicopter flight as the best way to see the volcano. There's a lot you can only see from up in the sky.

The Volcano National Park was closed, and since we couldn't get close, we participated in a helicopter tour that approached from the air. The price was high, but seeing the Kīlauea volcano from above was an amazing experience and memory.

Due to the weather, there were clouds, so the photos taken with my smartphone didn't turn out great, but I could really feel the power of the volcano with my own eyes, and I'm so glad I participated.

The pilot was very safe, and no one got sick. I also appreciated the service of taking photos in front of the helicopter at the end.

火山国立公園が閉鎖され、近くに行けないため空からのアプローチでヘリコプターツアーに参加しました。料金は高いですが、上から眺めるキラウエア火山の様子が実際に見れたのは素晴らしい感動と思い出になりました。

I was the only Japanese person, but the staff was very considerate, such as providing Japanese subtitles for the pre-lecture video. The pilot's clear English and the easy-to-capture flights over the volcano created a comfortable and pleasant free space. I was able to take better photos of the crater than I expected! I definitely want to use this service again next time!

1st time in a helicopter. 1 more bucket list item checked off. The views were spectacular and we were very fortunate to have the weather & Mother Nature in general on our side that day. Our captain/pilot was great and very knowledgeable. He encouraged us to ask questions & answered them very well. I personally think the whole experience was worth every penny but then again, we were a party of 2. Either way, I would highly recommend Bule Hawaiian and this flight package in particular. Got to see everything they advertised. Aloha!

The crew at Blue Hawaiian were courteous & professional and our Pilot Patrick was great - who was always checking to make sure everyone was comfortable during the trip and had ample opportunity to see & photograph each viewing site.

I parked the rental car at Hilo Airport and took a helicopter from there. The weather was decent, and I could see the coastline well from above. The eruption of Kilauea volcano has calmed down, and I couldn't observe any lava flows. I could see some smoke and part of the crater was glowing red. I imagine that during periods of active volcanic activity, it must have been quite impressive. From above, I could clearly understand the history of eruptions on the Big Island through the spread of lava and the distribution of vegetation. It was about a 45-minute tour, and I enjoyed it thoroughly. I would like to experience it again during a time of active eruptions.

Overall, very satisfied with the value of this trip. I have ziplined in Mexico and in Belize City, and this trip was very comparable in terms of value, excitement, and thrill.

The Hawaii zipline consisted of 7 lines, the first few were relatively short. Although short, breathtaking views. The last three were much longer, more scenic, and best of all, amazing view of a BEAUTIFUL waterfall! The day I went was very gloomy and did have some slight visibility issues due to fog, but the experience was amazing.

This was more expensive than my foreign ziplines, but as I mentioned, it was a great value for the experience relative to the other ziplines I have done.

Thinking back on what I could have paid for other Big Island adventures, no regrets on this trip and would ABSOLUTELY do this one again.

Lastly, the staff were great! Very expeditious, always safety first, and very friendly.

I rode in a helicopter for the first time. The day before, when I arrived at Hilo Airport, I went to Lobby 2 to reconfirm my reservation and check in, where I was able to complete part of the check-in process, including a weight measurement. On the day of the flight, after about ten minutes of instruction, we headed to the helipad. The staff were polite and efficient. I thought I might get motion sickness, but the pilot was skilled, and it was very comfortable. It was indeed cold up in the air, and combined with the wind, there was a bit of light rain, so a jacket is essential. However, I was amazed to see the heat from the crater and the gently undulating red lava, wondering how easily one can feel nature like this! The English instructions were clear and explained point by point, and since we all wore headsets, we could chat together. I think it’s great that if you experience it as a group, those who understood can share in Japanese. At first, I was nervous in many ways, but I felt like I could experience the nature of the Big Island of Hawaii, seeing Hilo city from above and confirming the traces of lava flows from various eras all at once, which you can't feel from the ground.

He was very knowledgeable about the culture and being a native new the area well. He answered all our questions an excellent host to us and friendly to everyone who we met on the way. He was also very personable and a family man talking about his family and sharing with us how he helps the children in his spare time on the island. He is a true asset to the company and to his heritage of the island. Taking a private tour is definitely worth your money and time spent on the island! Mahola! Lee

My 9:30 reservation was canceled due to a flight cancellation, and when I changed it to 10:30, that flight was also canceled... I was asked if it was okay to change to 14:30, but I could only go on a short course, so I reluctantly said yes! The flight wasn't as scary as I thought, which was good, but... they circled around to show us the red spots of the volcano, and I got motion sickness (T ^ T). The seat behind me had no door, so it was windy and cold... It really depends on the weather...

Because it is a calm period for volcanic activity, I believe you can only see the red, molten magma on a helicopter tour. I was also impressed by the vast black plateau. The pilot made sure that everyone in the seats could see the magma and waterfalls by circling around. The man in the back seat was so focused on taking pictures that he seemed to feel a bit unwell later on due to the circling, but he said he had a great time. Thank you very much.

I signed up for the tour because I wanted to see the lava. Although I couldn't see the ocean entry, it was amazing to view the crater and the waterfall without a door, so it wasn't through glass. I was lucky enough to see a rainbow as well. I wore a thick hoodie, but I think it would have been better to wear a windbreaker or something a bit warmer since it was quite windy.

The ocean entry was thwarted by the capricious Pele, who stopped the flow of lava, resulting in a disappointing aerial tour with almost nothing to see.

In November 2017, I booked a helicopter tour to see the lava flowing into the sea and the magnificent nature of Hawaii Island. However, the result was that there was no lava flow at all, and the tour only included a view of a small waterfall called Rainbow Falls. Since Rainbow Falls can be accessed by car, I really wanted to encounter nature that could only be reached by helicopter. The flight time was also quite short, about 45 minutes from takeoff, which is too brief. If you're going to go, you need to choose a longer tour to truly enjoy it. Riding in a helicopter is nice in itself, but longer tours can be quite expensive, so it's a tough decision.

2017年11月に溶岩が海に流れ落ちる様子とハワイ島の壮大な自然を見るためにヘリコプターで申し込みしました。
結果、溶岩は全く流れ落ちる事無く、壮大な自然もレインボー滝という小さな滝を眺めただけのツアーとなりました。
レインボー滝は車でも行けるのでヘリでしか行けない自然に出逢いたかったです。
ヘリの飛行時間も離陸から約45分でこれでは短すぎますね。
行くなら長時間のツアーにしないと堪能出来ませんね。
ヘリに乗るという事自体が良ければ良いですが、長時間ツアーですと費用がかなりかかるので迷い所です。

We really enjoyed our trip to Volcanoes National Park! We walked in a lava tube with headlamps on at night and the kids absolutely loved it. Then we saw lava from a viewing deck at the museum using binoculars and I will never forget that. We also felt the steam from several steam vents coming out of the ground, and we hiked through a rain forest down to the bottom of a crater and walked on an old lava flow. Very memorable visit! Our tour guide was very informative and made sure we got to see and do everything.

I can't give a feedback regarding Doors-on because we changed it at the last minute. Of course we paid the difference, but it worth it. Actually, after flying without doors, I could said that I wouldn't take the Doors-on option: the whole perspective is incredible and with doors that view wouldn't have been possible...ok, maybe warmer than withoug doors, but that's it.
However, it would habe been nice to be informed that the middle seat it's only for people who are not so tall: my girlfriend really REALLY wanted to be at the window seat, and I gladly would have given it to her, but it was not possible due to my height. We were told about this the moment before boarding. She was really dissapointed.

The staff were all cheerful and kind. It felt great to glide over the forest under the blue sky. However, the time slot I reserved was likely at maximum capacity, and we had to wait quite a bit each time we went to the new zip line. They said it would take about one to one and a half hours, but it ended up taking nearly two hours.

But since we could enjoy the scenery, I think it was still good? There was also an elderly American grandmother who was trying it for the first time, making it a zip line experience that the whole family could enjoy.
