Awesome adventure, Larry was great! He knew so much about the area and the people that live there. Larry answered our questions as best as he could. He told us funny stories, history and folk lore about the plants and land formations as we came upon them. He was entertaining and we felt safe and comfortable with him at the wheel. We had quite a few times where we could get out and take pictures or explore the area at our many stops during the day. Our lunch was delicious. It was a great opportunity to get to know our fellow travelers while taking in the scenery.

Aloha. I went out with Captain Charlene, Ana, Juan, and Jesse... this was my all time favorite crew and boat experience ever as far as service and comfortability. This crew was Real ... really caring and open hearted... I loved the Snuba, loved seeing the Whales and Molokini, the Aloha burger was onolicious and the ride was smooth and easygoing. We signed up as a family of four. Our six-year-old was especially excited as it was their first experience, but on the way to the location in the rental car, we got lost and it became clear that we wouldn't make it in time for the meeting. We contacted the ranch, but they said they couldn't wait because there were other participants. It was completely our fault, so we gave up and headed to the location with a heavy heart, hoping at least to show the kids the horses. However, during the drive, I received a call from a VELTRA staff member who said they would negotiate with the ranch. After a while, they informed us that the other participants would go ahead, and we would start late and catch up with the group, which the ranch agreed to. We started 40 minutes late, but thanks to that, the kids were overjoyed. I am very grateful to the VELTRA staff for their persistent negotiation. I could feel their dedication. Thank you very much.

Wayne was a great tourguide. He gave us a lot of useful information. There was just a sliver of sun to see on our morning and it was a bit chilly but the hot chocolate and watching how the sun comes up each morning was totally awesome. Despite having to get up at 2 a.m. it was an absolutely awesome tour.

Went on the cruise and wouldn't you know it, the day clouded over Kate afternoon so there was no sunset that might. The food was great and the drinks were great. It was a calm night so eating buffet style wasn't a huge problem. Would be nice to have a table to sit and eat. Saw lots of whales

We are a family of 5 adults and this was our first sunset dinner cruise and it exceeded all our expectations. Everything about the event was exceptional starting by the pickup at our hotel ,the check-in process,the photos,the reserved seating,the drinks,the food and the food servers. We were entertained by the singer/guitar player throughout which was very pleasant. The weather was perfect and we were thrilled when a humpback whale and her baby were breeching within our view. We are looking forward to a whale watching cruise on the Maui Princess in a few days as part of the special package deal. We highly recommend the Maui Princess.

Smooth and efficient pick up (@3:30 am! ) great drivers and a super tour guide/driver (windy roads all the way up to the 10,000 ft elevation summit) topped off with an amazing view and lifetime experience. A lovely light breakfast provided midpoint in the drive and a delicious breakfast after leaving the volcano (lots of choices) at a restaurant in a historic town. The guide was very knowledgeable about Hawaiian history, culture, geogra and plants seen during the drive. If you can only do 1 tour in Maui, this is the one!

In the beginning, I was half resigned to the fact that I could only see the whales spouting from a distance, but then a mother and baby whale appeared quite close to us, which was moving. After that, we encountered a pod of about 7 to 9 whales. I was very satisfied. There was a naturalist on the boat who provided commentary through a microphone, which was enjoyable. I couldn't understand all the details, but when a whale appeared, they would say, "○ o'clock!" and "left! right!" so it was fine.

*At the time of booking, it was noted that there would be an "English guide," but when I arrived at the port for check-in, a Japanese guide was waiting for us. I was grateful for the prior explanation about why whales gather around Maui, their habits, and the best viewing points.*

The captain and crew were absolutely wonderful. Peak whale season and my husband an I were in Maui celebrating our 25th anniversary. Not only was the dinner delicious and the views spectacular but we also were able to watch the whales. Didn't have to pay a separate fee for the spectacular encounters of the whales. This was absolutely worth every bit of the money we paid and will do it again WHEN we return to Kaalapani.

Great experience but not as advertised

The crew was knowledgeable and the captain found some great whale locations. We saw quite a few breaches and other amazing whale activities.

However, the boat we went out with was their dinner boat and did not include the advertised hydrophones or binoculars. Had we known this, we might have booked a less expensive excursion that also didn't have these items.

I participated in this on my honeymoon. I was able to see more whales up close than I expected, and I was very satisfied. The closest whale was about 90 meters away. I got to see the head of a baby whale about 20 times. (It's said that seeing so many is quite rare.) A Japanese guide also joined us on the boat. They explained the ecology of the whales and told us which direction the whales were located.

We were supposed to gather 30 minutes before departure, but it was a bit tough waiting in the blazing sun for those 30 minutes. I thought it might have been okay to step out of line and wait in the shade until we set sail.

It was January 18th, and the mountaintop before sunrise was very cold with strong winds. However, when the sun finally appeared from behind the sea of clouds, it was beautiful and very moving. The sunrise spot was crowded, so we got off the bus and waited in the cold for over 30 minutes. I think it’s a good idea to prepare for the cold with wind protection in mind.

1月18日でしたが、日の出前の山頂は、風が強くとても寒かったです。。が、雲海の向こうから太陽がようやく顔を出したときは、きれいでとても感動しました。日の出スポットは混雑していたので、30分以上前からバスから出て寒い中待っていました。風よけを意識して防寒対策しておくと良いと思いました。
