Hawaii
We seniors received hands-on support and were able to enjoy the experience without any injuries. It was my first time, and the first step was scary, but once I took it, it was exhilarating. I was able to enjoy the zip line against the backdrop of the majestic mountains and the beauty of the sea.
Unfortunately, I couldn't communicate well with the instructor and other participants, but we managed to have fun using simple gestures and a few words.
I highly recommend everyone to give it a try!

Shawn is super polite and well educated in many topics regarding the lava, plant life, history and sites on the islands. He was particularly helpful in suggesting to us to change the itinerary so we could see the active eruption and we are so happy he made the suggestion. 100% well worth the private tour. On the day of the tour, although we were unable to visit Manoa Falls due to local circumstances, the tour company took us to Waimea Canyon as an alternative, which turned out to be a fun experience in a different way! This was our third try to get this ride. Weather kept us from seeing this amazing island and coast. This time…oh my! The weather cooperated and we were given quite a tour. Our pilot, Duke, was terrific. Duke was so knowledgeable about the island. Plus, Jurassic Park soundtrack. Go ahead and splurge for the front seats…you will not be disappointed! Everything ran smoothly from our ferry ride to Lanai, to meeting our guide at the island harbour. We saw Shipwreck Beach and the Garden of the Gods, both worthwhile stops, and were introduced to the main beach park, some of the lovely expensive hotels, and a good look at Lanai City. We enjoyed our guide’s stories about growing up on Lanai, and we loved our free afternoon snorkelling on the excellent reef at the beach. The ride home in the ferry was pretty rough, but that’s to be expected on the afternoon rough and windy waters between Lanai and Maui. It was a very expensive day, in our opinion, and our guide sometimes repeated himself, just to keep the patter going. Nevertheless, we had a good day, and would recommend it to anyone with deep pockets, and a desire to experience Lanai.
We travelled in a suburban, not the jeep-style 4x4 we were expecting. It was very comfortable..
First, the Japanese woman who explained the tickets right after we got off the shuttle bus was very kind, and I felt reassured from the check-in for the experience until we got on the bus back!
However, as she mentioned, there were no Japanese speakers after the check-in, so we had to rely on understanding English, which was quite challenging (laughs). By the way, my husband and I don't speak any English at all 🤣. There were videos in Japanese about the precautions for riding the buggy, so that was fine, but when we stopped at the photo spots, the explanations were all in English, so we managed to understand using Google Translate's speaker.
My husband, who is used to driving, and I, who usually don't drive, took on the challenge, but it was quite a long ride, and driving on the bumpy mountain roads in an unfamiliar buggy was exhausting even for my husband, who drives regularly (laughs). I couldn't enjoy the scenery unless it was on a straight road, and since we didn't stop at the photo spots, I couldn't switch places with my husband, which was tough for me 😭💦.
But the scenery was truly overwhelming, and I'm really glad we went!

バギーに乗る注意点などの映像は日本語のものがあり、そこは大丈夫でしたが、バギーに乗って写真スポットに止まったときその場所の説明などしてくれますが、全部英語なのでGoogle翻訳のスピーカーとかを使ってなんとか聞き取りました。笑
ただ運転に慣れた夫と普段な運転しない私で挑みましたが、結構長い間走りますし、ガタガタの山道を慣れないバギーで走るので、普段運転してる夫でもクタクタになってました（笑）
私はまっすぐな道でなければ景色どころではなかったし、写真スポットまで止まってくれないので夫に変わることもできず大変でした😭💦
だけど景色は本当に圧倒的で行って本当に良かったと思ってます！

From the minute we booked this trip the communication was excellent. We knew exactly where to meet the crew and captain for this excursion. They explained everything about our day so we knew we were gonna have a great trip.
