There were few Japanese people, and many locals... The show that starts with the entrance of Kamehameha was quite good. It wasn't very large, but it was compactly organized, and we could see well. The food was Hawaiian, and it was delicious. The show featured hula dances that told the story of humans being born from taro, hula dedicated to Kamehameha, and hula from various islands like Tahiti and New Zealand... all were skillful and full of highlights. I highly recommend this luau when visiting the Big Island.

Since it is located in the Royal Hawaiian Center, I made a reservation at Wolfgang's Steakhouse, and after dining, we went for cocktails and the show. I went with my daughter and my grandson, and although my daughter belongs to a generation that doesn't know Elvis, she enjoyed it as she recognized some of the songs. My grandson also had fun doing the hand movements from Michael's "Thriller." Of course, I belong to the generation that grew up with Elvis and Michael, so I had the most fun. The hula was great too, and the fire dancer was impressive. After the show, I purchased a photo with Michael, which became a wonderful memory. I would love to go again when I visit Hawaii.

The entire show was well-structured, combining experience, participation, and viewing, and we had a great time. If the food had been a bit tastier, it would have received a "perfect!" rating.

I accidentally forgot to bring my winter clothes, so I layered two T-shirts, wore a fleece, and covered myself with a hotel bath towel to enjoy the view. It was 8 degrees, so I managed somehow.

There were several buses from the same tour company, and many individuals came as well, exceeding the space available for viewing. People gathered tightly next to the visitor center to watch, but even though it was cold, it's better to secure a spot early rather than waiting in the car until the last minute. There were many large individuals, making it difficult to peek through the gaps to take photos.

うっかり防寒着を持参するのを忘れて、Tシャツ２枚を重ね着、フリースを来て、ホテルのバスタオルを被って鑑賞しました。8度でしたのでどうにかなりました。
同じツアー会社のバスが数台、個人で来ている人たち、観覧スペースの広さ以上にたくさんの人が来ています。ビジターセンターの横で鈴なりになって鑑賞するのですが、寒くてもギリギリまで車中で待たずに、早く場所を取ったほうがいいです。大柄の方が多くて、隙間から覗いて写真を撮るのが大変でした。

This tour is the best way to get the full Pearl Harbor experience. Our guide was very knowledgeable and answered all our curious and random questions. He did an excellent job of corralling such a large group in time to move from one exhibit to the next. We would have been lost without him. My favorite part of the tour was the boat ride out to the Arizona Memorial. Even though the memorial was closed at the time, seeing the Arizona Memorial and Battleship Missouri up close out on the water was quite humbling and awe-inspiring. Visiting Pearl Harbor is a top Oahu destination, and this tour is the best way to go!

I highly recommend this dinner cruise! This cruise is unique in that it’s a formal dinner, a sunset cruise, and a luau all wrapped up into one delicious and entertaining evening. I’m vegan and always skeptical of trying vegan options, but this dinner far exceeded my expectations. The jazz band did not disappoint either. Good music goes a long way in my book, so I can easily say the saxophonist was actually my favorite part of the evening. The band happened to play one of my favorite songs and it made my day, the icing on the cake.

I participated in a helicopter tour from Hilo 20 years ago. At that time, I got motion sickness and remember feeling pale when I got off the helicopter. So this time, I recommended my daughter take motion sickness medication before we joined. However, the helicopters nowadays don't shake at all! Or maybe this particular helicopter was just superior. In any case, it was incredibly comfortable. Our pilot was Mr. Mochizuki, who is Japanese. The amount of information we could understand compared to an English-speaking pilot was completely different! It seems that it's not always possible to have a Japanese-speaking pilot, but we were lucky. By the way, applying through Mr. Mochizuki's homepage seems to increase your chances. Mr. Mochizuki, who has lived in Hawaii for a long time, impressively conveys the true state of volcanic activity. The highlight was the Kohala Falls. It felt like I had become a drone myself... The scenery was truly indescribable. The grass and trees swayed in the wind created by the helicopter's propeller as we landed right next to the waterfall. The black and brown lava was not the only color; there was also the green of the Big Island. This tour certainly costs a lot. However, it is an experience that far exceeds its value, and I highly recommend it to everyone. Lastly, please prepare a tip for the pilot. My mom and I have been to Hawaii many times but this time I felt like a lei greeting would be nice! So I surprised her with it and I am happy I did. Searched online and found this site. Great aloha welcome before baggage. She was so surprised to see her name! I upgraded to the larger lei. The greeter was very friendly and took several pictures of us. The leis are beautiful and have lasted 4 days so far and still look great. (Little bit of water in a plastic bag in the hotel room fridge) We actually wore them to a luau last night! Received lots of compliments on them. Will use these guys again.

I arrived about 10 to 15 minutes early, and there weren't many people yet. People started gathering around five minutes before the event.
I had a standard seat, but it was close to the stage and very easy to see! I think the seats themselves are not that different.
The food was delicious, and I had a really enjoyable time! The Polynesian dances from various regions were wonderful!

I participated on July 31.
There were so many participants that the car was full.
Since the pickup was at 2 AM, I was fast asleep in the car.
By the time we arrived at Haleakalā, it was starting to get bright, and we were able to see the sunrise about 20 minutes after getting off the bus.
I was worried because there were a lot of clouds, but it was a beautiful sunrise.
The temperature was extremely cold!
With the wind, it felt like winter!
A down jacket is absolutely essential.
I took photos while shivering. (laughs)
After watching the sunrise, we returned to the car and received bread and coffee.
I was very happy to have warm coffee!
After that, we went down to have breakfast and returned to the hotel around 10 AM.
It was a wonderful experience.

サンライズを見て、車に戻るとパンとコーヒーが貰えました。
あったかいコーヒーがとても嬉しかったです！
そのあと朝食を食べに麓におり、ご飯を食べて10時くらいにホテルに戻ってきました。
とてもすてきな体験でした。

Mauna Kea on the Big Island of Hawaii had a magnificent natural feel, but here we had to compete for space with many people in a narrow passage. The shuttle was only a few minutes late, and the guide was cheerful and kind, but I think if we had arrived a bit earlier, we could have secured a better spot and enjoyed the starry sky more. Considering the price, it was a bit lacking.

The fire dance was the only good part.

However, there were very few drink options for the all-you-can-drink, and it took an astonishing amount of time to reach the buffet. Everyone entered early, so it felt like we wasted hours. (Originally, the meal was supposed to start an hour after the drinks, but there were delays and waiting in line.) This was surprising to the point that it couldn't just be brushed off as "because it's overseas."

The crowd was mostly Americans, and everyone seemed to be waiting reluctantly. An American lady next to me shouted, "I'm hungry!"

I went with my husband at the end of July, and since it was a venue that could hold hundreds of people, we left with a wry smile, thinking they must be making quite a profit. The seats I bought were $100 per person. The reviews were quite good, so it was baffling.

こればかりは、「海外だから、、」ですまされないレベルで驚きました。
満席の客層はほぼアメリカ人でしたが、皆仕方なく待っているといった感じでした。横のアメリカ人のおばさまは、「アイムハングリー！」と叫んでいました。

7月末に主人と行きましたが、何百人も入る開場なので、相当の儲けだね～と苦笑いしながら帰ってきました。私が買った席は1人100ドルでした。口コミはなかなか良かったので、意味不明でした。

I stayed at a different Hilton, but the location was a bit hard to find. I chose the middle course, and I was able to get priority for the buffet, so I recommend it. I was seated to the side, but there were dancers in every direction, so it was totally fine!

I recommend going at least once!

別のヒルトンに泊まってたのですが、場所が少し分かりづらかったです。
真ん中のコースにしたのですが、優先的にビュッフェを取れたのでおススメです。横の席だったのですが、全方向にダンサーさんがいるので、全然大丈夫でした！

Paradise Cove Luau on the Beach at Ko Olina Resort

This was my family’s first real luau at a beach and we enjoyed every minute of it. All of the activities are very well planned out so that no one misses out on any part of the luau experience. We purchased the Standard Package, which was supposed to be side view seating, but because of the stage position... we had an amazing up close view of the whole show. It was great that we wore sandals as it was on a sandy beach, I’m also glad we went with the Standard Package because the greeting lei we received upon entering was a beautiful seashell lei that unlike the floral lei, would not dry up and it turned out to be an amazing and unexpected souvenir. Regarding the grub, it was delicious and although it was supposed to be an AYCE buffet, there was hardly any side dishes or chocolate cake desert left by the time our table went up to the buffet. I guess my only complaint was that it could have been better directed during the buffet. Everyone looked starving and didn’t really follow the order the host’s instructions. Our family and a few others who were patient and followed directions were screwed by those who couldn’t wait to be called to the buffet and doubled up on every entree and side. Other than poor planning during the buffet, what I did get to eat was delicious!!! We cannot wait to do this again!
