We chartered a boat for a family trip with three generations, totaling nine people. We booked the two-hour course, which turned out to be just the right amount of time to relax and enjoy meals on board. However, if you plan to have a longer meal on the boat, a longer course might be better.

We brought takeout food and drinks with us, but there were plenty of utensils provided, and it was helpful that cold drinking water was available. There was also a cooler on board, so we could keep our drinks and fruits chilled. There were two restrooms available, and we were able to bring a stroller on board as well. Although we didn't use it, there was also a microwave (or oven?!) available.

From the boat, you can see Waikiki and Diamond Head. The time spent lying outside while enjoying the panoramic view was absolutely the best!

The boat arrived at the dock about 15 minutes before the departure time. Since there isn't a waiting area like a terminal near the dock, it might be better not to arrive too early.

特に屋外で寝転がりながらパノラマビューを見ながら過ごす時間は最高でした!

船は出発時刻の15分くらい前に桟橋にやってきました。
桟橋付近にはターミナルのような待つ場所がないので、あまり早めに行かない方がいいかもしれません。

Due to a COVID case among the staff, our morning snorkeling tour was rescheduled for the next day. There were five friendly staff members, including the captain, all of whom worked hard. The captain, who is of Native American and Chinese descent, was entertaining and provided excellent service, bringing the catamaran close to the cliffs of Na Pali and splashing participants with waterfall water. We enjoyed a variety of stories about the island and Na Pali. The scenery of Na Pali is featured in many movies, including Jurassic Park, and I believe it is worth seeing at least once.

One thing to note is that I had heard Na Pali can be rough at sea, but since the tour was changed to a relatively calm morning, I felt reassured. However, on the return trip, we faced headwinds and had to ride over waves pushing towards us, which resulted in all of my family getting seasick...

The large catamaran, breakfast, lunch, and the hardworking staff, along with the humorous and talkative captain, were all excellent. However, since we hardly saw any fish while snorkeling and the ride was too intense, I would rate it four stars.

スタッフにCOVIDの人が出たとかで、翌日のモーニングシュノーケルツアーに変更になりました。スタッフはキャプテンを入れて5名、いずれもよく働くフレンドリーなスタッフで、キャプテンは、ネイティブインディアンと中国人のハーフ、話が面白く、また、ナパリの岸壁ぎりぎりにカタマランを近づけ、参加者に滝の水をかけるなど、サービス精神満点でした。話も、島の話、ナパリの話など多様な話で楽しめました。ナパリの景色は、ジュラシックパークその他の映画に多々出てきたもので、なかなか見られないもので一見の価値ありだと思います。
注意が必要なのは、ナパリは海が荒いと聞いていたのですが、比較的穏やかな朝のツアーに変更になり、安心して臨んだところ、帰りは向かい風で手前に押し寄せる波を乗り越え続けるライドとなり、家族全員船酔いに。。。
大きなカタマラン、朝食、昼食、かいがいしく働くスタッフ、ユーモアあり話し上手なキャプテンと、文句なしだったのですが、シュノーケルで魚がほとんど見えなかったのと、あまりに激しいライドで４つ星とさせていただきます。

The view was something else, let me tell. Cruising the coast and seeing the unique geographical features was amazing. I don't know I've ever seen anything like this. The host and crew was super informative and helpful. They even provided and took care of my GF who was starting to feel seasick. They were well-equipped to host everyone, not to mention that they were pretty entertaining and funny. I highly recommend!

We got the private boat and did the sandbar tour & I can’t recommend this enough! We played at the sandbar, toured the waters and got to see turtles & manta rays! Captain Jeff was helpful, fun & informative, the snacks were tasty and the boat was clean and in great condition. Do this tour!! You won’t regret it! It was the highlight of our trip and the best excursion I have ever done in Hawaii! My husband enjoyed it so much he wanted to do it again but we couldn’t book during the rest of our stay because they were sold out!.

The captain and his 1st mate were excellent. The tour it self was very informative. It was beautiful. The only thing i would suggest maybe was to have a variety of drinks. Not so sweet and sugary. Add some vodka.

I made a reservation through the website the day before boarding, as it was cheaper than booking directly with the local tour company due to tax differences. I looked at several options, and this was the lowest price for the same conditions. Still, 30,000 yen per person is OVER.

The reservation process was easy, and I showed the issued voucher to the local tour company, signed, and completed check-in. I checked in at 14:00, one hour before departure, and had a briefing at 14:15. After that, it took about 5 minutes to move to the port. We departed 15 minutes ahead of schedule. Because the waves were high, it felt like being on a roller coaster. We arrived in about 1 hour and 20 minutes. We spent about 2 hours in Napali, and on the way back, we took our time eating a bento while enjoying the sunset, returning by 19:20.

Other tour companies have smaller boats, but you need to be prepared to get wet. The large yacht with a buffet is gorgeous, but it can't get close to the shore, so this tour, which is faster and includes bento and unlimited drinks (including alcohol), was great. There seems to be a morning departure as well, but since it's early, I recommend the afternoon departure with sunset.

他のツアー会社には小型のボートもあるが、濡れる覚悟が必要。ブッフェ付きの大型ヨットはゴージャスだが、岸壁には近づけないので、スピードも早く、お弁当付きドリンク(アルコールも)飲み放題のこのツアーが良かった。午前出発もあるようだが、朝も早いしサンセット着きの午後出発がおすすめかと。

Service was superb, some mistakes happened but all corrected in few minutes and very grateful for the results. The ride was great our captain has a very unique talents knowing names by only observing his passengers makes the ride in the open sea more familial atmosphere, feeling safe plus the views its just amazing. Definitely this a must to do to blow away your personal stresses. Really the whole family enjoyed.

Hokua Private Boat Charter from Maalaea Harbor - Aloha Blue Charters

We were visiting Maui for our 50th Wedding Anniversary and celebrating with our 4 children and spouses and 7 Grandkids - 16 total. We wanted a small boating trip that would accomodate everyone's individual ideas of a snorkeling trip - not too long, too many people, too choppy, etc. Then I found Aloha Blue charters online, it sounded perfect. They had a 2 hour private afternoon boat trip available for a reasonable price for the whole boat. Our Captain Larry and assistants Jeren and Sienna were a delightful team that made our trip very memorable. 13 of us were in the water for a little over an hour enjoying the underwater sealife and the others watched and enjoyed themselves on board. I would recommend this "customized" trip (2-4 hours - snorkeling, sightseeing and/or fishing) to all families visiting Maui that don't want what is offered on most of the more expensive trips advertised. Our guides were truly amazing. They were friendly and enthusiastic. They knew so much of the history of the Na Pali and integrated interesting little facts and throughout the tour.

They provided everything you need from drinks throughout the tour and lunch.

The yacht was larger and more beautiful than I expected, and we were able to spend a blissful time (^○^) Masa, who speaks Japanese, and the kind captain Austin prepared plenty of delicious appetizers for us, and I definitely want to use this service again! It was my first time seeing fireworks up so close!!!! Lying on the net at the front of the yacht while feeling the wind was just the best!!!! I already want to go again soon (^○^)

Captain Jill, Silas, and Jen provided an amazing trip, complete with hundreds of spinner dolphins passing the boat along the way to Lanai.
The snorkeling near Lanai was incredible, with crystal clear water, beautiful coral, sea turtles, spotted eagle rays, huge schools of fish, and a baby octopus! My family and I could have stayed in that first snorkeling spot all day! All of us would highly recommend this trip. The captain and crew were knowledgeable, professional and fun. It was one of the best snorkeling trips we have ever taken.

We had an amazing time the guys were great. The sails went up and off we went. They served us drinks right away and they were also great. The food was good and hot and the guys ate clearly very experienced and kept us safe we really had a fun fun.
I would highly recommend this Sunset sail for anyone that wants to have a great experience and get some wind in your face. The wind Was up so that made it better.

Unfortunately, we didn't get to see any whales due to bad luck, but we enjoyed the sunset in a pleasant atmosphere with the cheerful staff. Since we didn't see any whales this time, they gave us a ticket that allows us to join the tour for free the next time we come to Hawaii, as long as the tour is still available. I hope we can participate again!
