Hawaii
When I arrived at the meeting place, there were many people from other cruises, and I felt anxious about whether I was in the right spot. I felt relieved when the pickup bus arrived about 10 minutes late.
The entrance was guided by a Japanese staff member who led us to our seats in Japanese, and we were able to enjoy the show right under Aloha Tower.
The meal was buffet-style, and the staff served us, so I was satisfied as I could eat until I was full.
The show was entirely in English, but the way the host and performers engaged the audience was great and enjoyable. There was a couple's romantic time scheduled, and as expected from foreigners, everyone stood up with their partners as soon as the music started, hugging and dancing without any shyness, which I thought was wonderful to watch.
The dance also explained how Hawaiian culture has been built and how it has mixed with the cultures of other island nations, which was very interesting. Being by the seaside, we were able to see a beautiful sunset, which was fantastic. I wished there were more drink options. Fortunately, the weather was nice since it was outdoors.

入場は日本人スタッフの方が日本語で席まで誘導してくださり、アロハタワーの真下でショーを楽しめました。
食事はブッフェスタイルで、スタッフさんがついでくださりお腹いっぱいに食べられたので満足です。
ショーは全部英語でしたが、司会やパフォーマーの方の盛り上げ方が上手で楽しかったです。
スケジュールの中にカップルのラブラブタイムがあったのですがさすが外人さん。みなさん曲が始まった途端カップルで立たれて抱き合って曲に合わせて照れる事なく踊りはじめられたのをみて素敵だなーと思って見てました。
ダンスも今まで、ハワイの文化がどのように築き上げられてきたか、どのように他の島国の文化と混ざっていったのかを説明しながら踊られていたので、とても興味深かったです。
海辺なので綺麗なサンセットも見れてとてもよかったです。
飲み物の種類がもっとあるとよかったなーと思いました。外なので天気が良くてよかったです。

My kids wanted something quicker, and the guides are so great!
I had always wanted to see whales at least once in my life! I imagined witnessing their majestic leaps from the ocean and their tail fins sinking like ginkgo leaves. When I had the chance to go to Hawaii in January, I thought this was my opportunity and signed up. I waited on the deck for two hours, filled with excitement and anticipation, but unfortunately, they never appeared. I understand that encounters with nature depend on luck, but it was disappointing. Still, I believe I will see them someday, and I would like to sign up again. The tour was easy to understand and friendly, and the boat was large, which gave me a sense of security.

The Makapu'u Lookout, included in other tours, is a viewpoint located at the base of this cape. While it offers beautiful scenery worth visiting on its own, the view towards the ocean is limited due to the small hill in the direction of the cape. The trail on this tour goes around that hill, and especially in the latter half, you walk along the cliffs towering over the vast ocean (the path is well-maintained, so it's not dangerous) and ascend to the highest point overlooking the lighthouse. Brett was an excellent tour guide. Funny engaging and informative. It is a long day as the island is rather large. Greenwell Farms (coffee farm) was our first stop. Excellent coffee! Brett explained the growing and harvesting process, followed by tasting and souvenir purchases. Then on to the Punalu'u sweetbread bakery for treats. I lived the Lilikoi flavored pastry. Nice gift shop also. Next stop was Punalu'u black sand beach with a bonus sleeping turtle. Quick provided tasty lunch at a shady state park. Next into Volcano National Park. Brett has fantastic volcano pics. Kilauea was steeming and erupted hours later. Traveled down a large lava tube, very cool. Huge old lava fields. Next on to Rainbow falls and majestic Akaka falls on the East side of the island. On the North end, we visited Waipi'o lookout for sunset. It was along day, but excellent. Strongly recommend. Brett made the trip very enjoyable.
It is a long day, lots to see.
Wonderful experience and the lead guide was very good in explaining the area, the film 🎥 shootings, about the owner of the Ranch.
If it wasn’t for our tour guide, Dave, our adventure would have been very unsatisfactory. There was far far too much driving. The caves were inaccessible for most of us as the rocks were slippery. The stairs were steep, and there weren’t enough hiking sticks to go around. we stopped for quite a bit of time just to have lunch, which to me was very unnecessary. A snack would’ve sufficed. Then we drove, which seemed to be forever to go see the most recent lava flow… Which was quite interesting but somewhat repetitive. Again, if it wasn’t for our tour guide, Dave, his personality, information and enthusiasm It would’ve been a bust. Again far far far too much driving for what we actually could get out and enjoy and see.

On New Year's Eve, I participated in a tour the day after my arrival. The Japanese driver was very reassuring, and it was great to hear various stories about Hawaii. It was my first time on the North Shore, and despite my worries about the weather, we were blessed with good conditions. Even during a relaxed time, we were able to hit all the key points, making it a fantastic start to my time in Hawaii. I'm grateful for that.
In particular, it was excellent to visit the rock that the famous baseball player, Shohei Ohtani, also visited. I was able to build upon the information I received to plan the following days. It turned out to be the best trip to Hawaii. Thank you very much.

I saw many reviews mentioning that the weather is often bad in winter, but on January 3rd, when I participated, it was clear and we were able to reach the summit without any issues. The sunset seemed to fall into the clouds, but it was incredibly beautiful. Our guide, Sho-you, was entertaining during the journey and very considerate, making the travel time enjoyable.
As for stargazing, I thought it might be hard to see because the moon was bright, but we were able to see various constellations, and the moon, Saturn, and Jupiter looked stunning through the telescope. The guide's explanations about the night sky were very interesting for us!
The BLT sandwich we had at the summit was seasoned perfectly and tasted better than I had imagined (laughs). I haven't received the photos yet, but I'm sure they captured some wonderful moments.
The tour itself and the guide were fantastic, and we had a great time, but there was a slight disappointment. I was a bit late for the scheduled meeting time of 14:30, so I called to inform them, but the person who answered the phone (not the guide) was quite rude. In the end, we arrived almost on time, but when we got to the meeting place, the tour vehicle was not there... After several calls, it turned out that the meeting time we were given was incorrect, and it was actually 15:00. They did apologize, but I wondered if they had noticed it when I first called, it might have prevented any unpleasant feelings (the notification about the change in meeting time came later...).
Also, I had signed up for the English tour, but when we joined on the day, it turned out to be a Japanese tour. Since three out of four participants were Japanese, we ended up enjoying it, but I think it would have been better if we had been informed in advance about any changes.
So, while the tour itself deserves five stars, overall, I would rate it four stars.
冬は天気が悪い日が多いという口コミもたくさんみかけましたが、参加した1月3日は快晴で、問題なく山頂まで行けました。
夕日は雲の中に落ちる感じではありましたが、すごくきれいに見えました。
ガイドの翔陽さんの道中のトークもおもしろく、気配りも素敵な感じで、移動時間も楽しい時間を過ごせました。
星空観測も、月が明るい日だったので見えづらいかなと思いましたが星座もいろいろ見ることができ、望遠鏡で見た月、土星、木星もとてもきれいでした。ガイドさんの星空解説も、我々にとってはすごくおもしろかったです！
そして山頂でいただいたBLTサンド、塩がきいてて想像してたよりおいしかった（笑）
写真はまだいただいていないですが、きっと素敵なのを撮っていただけているはず。
ツアー自体もガイドさんもすばらしく、良い時間を過ごせたんですが、少しだけ残念だったことが。
通知されていた集合時間14：30に少しだけ遅れそうだったので電話連絡をしたのですが、電話口に出た方（ガイドさんとは別の方）の態度が大変横柄でした。結局ほぼ遅れずに到着できたんですが、待ち合わせの場所に行ってもツアーの車はおらず・・・何度か電話連絡して、結局我々に伝えられていた集合時間がまちがっていて、本当は15時だったことが判明。一応謝ってはいただいたんですが、最初に電話した時に気づいていただければいやな気持にならずに済んだのかな、と思いました（集合時間変更の通知は後から来ました・・・）。
また、英語ツアーで申し込んでいたんですが当日合流したら日本語のツアーになっていました。4人中3人は日本人だったので結果的には楽しめたんですが、変更がある場合は事前にご連絡いただけると良かったかなと思います。
ということで、ツアー自体は☆5つだったんですが、総合して☆４つにさせてもらいました。

Hands down…. The best activity my wife and I have had in our 6-day vacation in Maui. David was an exceptional tour guide! Not only was he incredibly knowledgeable about all the hiking spots and locations, but he was also entertaining and genuinely friendly throughout the trip.
