We stayed in the center of Kona and had a pickup around 1:30 PM. Therefore, we had enough time to participate in the dolphin swim tour at the nature school in the morning. After the pickup, we took a restroom break at a shopping mall (there was also time for some shopping) before heading to Mauna Kea. During the drive, we enjoyed the guide's fun stories and excitedly made our way up to the mountainside. After eating our lunch and putting on warm clothing, we got back in the car and finally set off for the summit. By the way, from this point on, you shouldn't sleep due to the altitude, but perhaps because the air was thin, and also because I had just done the dolphin swim, I felt incredibly sleepy and it was tough both going and coming back. However, the guide cheerfully woke us up by saying, "Is everyone awake?"

That day, the wind was strong, and it got extremely cold as we ascended. I think participants, especially those who are not good with the cold, should prepare plenty of warm clothing and gear. If you underestimate it, it will be really cold.

First, we watched the sunset sinking into the sea of clouds at the summit. I was moved by the sea of clouds all around me, and even more so by the sunset sinking into it. It was such a beautiful world. After enjoying the slowly sinking sunset, we descended a bit to observe the starry sky. It was my first time seeing so many stars. The guide used a laser pointer to explain the constellations, and even without any prior knowledge, he made it very easy to understand and interesting, so we had a really enjoyable time. We watched the starry sky while sipping warm tea and having cookies, and he even took photos for us.

Afterward, with a sense of reluctance, we got back in the car and were taken back to our hotels, marking the end of the tour. The sunset and starry sky were truly, truly beautiful! I want to join the plan for the starry sky and sunrise next time. I was entertained by the guide's stories throughout the trip! Thanks to him, we had a fulfilling day! Thank you!

コナの中心部に宿泊していたわたしたちは、13時半ごろのピックアップでした。
そのため、午前中はネイチャースクールのドルフィンスイムのツアーに参加しても時間に余裕がありました。
ピックアップ後はショッピングモールにてトイレ休憩をとり（多少のショッピングも楽しめる時間設定でした）マウナケアに向かいましたが、道中はガイドさんの楽しいお話しも聞けてワクワクしながら山の中腹まで一気に進みます。
お弁当を食べて防寒具を着て、また車に乗り込みついに山頂にむけて出発しました。
ちなみに、ここから先は寝てはいけない標高になるのですが、やはり空気が薄いからか、さらにわたしはドルフィンスイム後というのもあったのか、行きも帰りも死ぬほど眠くて辛かったです。笑
でもその度にガイドさんに、『みなさん起きてますかー！』と元気良く起こされるので心配は無用です。

この日はとにかく風が強くて、標高が上がるにつれてとんでもなく寒かったです。
参加される方、とくに寒いのが苦手な方は防寒着やあったかグッズをたくさん用意してきた方がいいと思います。舐めてかかると本当に寒いので。

まずは山頂にて雲海に沈む夕日を見ます。
視界一面の雲海に感動し、そこに沈んでいく夕日にさらに感動しました。
とっっっっても美しい世界です。
ゆっくりゆっくり沈む夕日を堪能したら、次は少し山を降りて星空観測です。
あんなにたくさんの星を見たのは初めてでした。
ガイドさんがレーザーポインタを使い、星座の説明もしてくれるのですが、事前知識がまったくなくても、とても分かりやすく面白くお話ししてくれるのですごく楽しい時間を過ごすことができます。
暖かい紅茶とクッキーを頂きながら星空を眺め、写真も撮ってくれました。

その後は名残惜しいながらも車に乗り各ホテルまで送迎していただき、ツアー終了です。
夕日と星空、本当に本当に綺麗でした！
次は星空と朝日のプランに参加したいです。
終始ガイドさんのお話しに楽しませていただきました！
おかげさまで充実した1日を過ごすことができましました！

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to encounter any whales. Since it was towards the end of the season, I think it's understandable.

Also, the large boat swayed quite a bit. I think motion sickness medication is definitely needed.

Next time, I hope to visit Hawaii during a better season and try again! For those who love boats, just being on board can be quite enjoyable, and since it's a half-day course, you can make good use of your time, so I recommend it!

At first, the owner, Mark, humorously and carefully explained how to use the reins and how to position ourselves based on the slope of the path. The horses are trained for polo and are all very well-behaved. We navigated up and down, sometimes progressing in a line along quite muddy paths. Leading the way was the staff member, Angel, who provided detailed explanations about the forest, stories of the royal family that once lived in the area, the wild boars that inhabit the region, and even about poisonous mushrooms. While there were moments of tension on the muddy slopes, we felt a strange sense of accomplishment afterward. There were also children in our group, around the middle school age, who enjoyed the horseback riding. A family horseback riding experience will surely become a lifelong memory.

After the luau, I took pictures with the dancers on stage. I even got a tattoo stamp on my arm, just like the Hawaiians (it was water-based ink, so it came off quickly afterward). It was so much fun!

It was a very enjoyable tour!
Since I stayed at the Sheraton, I was the first to be picked up on the way there and the last on the way back.
We picked up participants one after another at 3 to 4 locations, and I had a great time chatting with our guide, Jin, so the trip to the Onizuka Center felt quick.

At the Onizuka Center, we enjoyed a delicious Japanese lunch box and miso soup, received warm clothing, and were fully prepared for the summit.
Honestly, I was worried about altitude sickness before going.
After reaching the summit, I did feel a bit lightheaded, but thanks to Jin's advice to focus on my breathing, it wasn't as bad as I expected!

The weather was poor down below, but from the summit, we were able to see a beautiful sea of clouds and enjoyed a wonderful sunset.
The starry sky was slightly affected by the bright moon, but Kon's explanations were easy to understand, and I was very satisfied!

I highly recommend this tour for anyone visiting the Big Island.

P.S. I apologize for not being able to say goodbye to Jin at the end.

3〜4箇所で次々参加者をピックアップし、担当者のジンさんとみんな楽しくおしゃべりしながらだったので、オニヅカセンターまであっという間でした。

オニヅカセンターでは美味しい和食弁当＋お味噌汁をいただいて、
防寒具を配られ、準備万端で頂上へ。
正直、行く前は高山病が心配でした。
やっぱり頂上へ着いてからは少しフワフワする感じはありましたが、ジンさんのアドバイス通り呼吸を意識してたからか思ってたより大丈夫でした！

ちょうど下界は天気が悪かったため、山頂からは綺麗な雲海が見えて、とても素敵なサンセットを拝めました。
星空は満月に近かったため、月灯りに少し邪魔されましたが、コンさんの解説がわかり易く大満足でした！

ハワイ島へ行かれる方には是非オススメのツアーだと思います。

It was a participation on a very nice day. The horse I was connected with was the oldest one. However, you wouldn't think he was old just by looking at him. Most importantly, he was very smart, which surprised me. I learned how to give instructions, but even without doing anything, he maintained a great distance from the horse in front of him and did a wonderful job. I think it's a tour that beginners can join with confidence. Next, I would like to participate in a coastal horseback riding tour!☆

I had seen some reviews mentioning that sightings were not guaranteed, and since I made a last-minute reservation for April 4th, I was prepared for that possibility. However, quite early on, the captain announced, "We have spotted a whale at 3 o'clock!" There were about five or six directions given, and we could see the spouts! According to the naturalist's announcement, the whale was about 45 meters away from the boat. While we didn't see any flashy features like the tail fin, it has left me looking forward to next time.

I opted for no breakfast, but since those with and without meals are on the same floor, I think it's fine to skip it if you don't mind looking over at others. I believe breakfast only takes about 15 minutes, so it wasn't a big deal to go without it.

朝食なしにしましたが、食事ありとなしの人が同じフロアなので、横目で見るのが平気であればなしで良いと思います。朝食を食べる時間は15分程度だと思いますのでまぁなくても良かったかなという感じです

I was really glad to be able to see the deep blue, incredibly beautiful sea. It was truly stunning. However, I couldn't see anything else at all. It was frustrating not to receive a reboarding ticket for when I couldn't see anything, regardless of whether I could go or not; it felt like the promises weren't being kept. Since one of my family members gets seasick, we opted for no meals, but the seating was mixed up between those who had meals and those who didn't. My little child was looking enviously at the people around us who were eating, and I felt a bit disheartened. I wish they could have at least separated the seating a little within the area...

深い青のすごくきれいな海に出られたことは良かったです。本当に綺麗でした。ひたすらそれだけで全く何も見れませんでしたが。見られなかった際の再乗船チケットもらえず、行ける行けないは別にして約束事を守ってもらえないのは不快です。船酔いしてしまう家族がいるので食事無しにしましたが、食事ありなしの人たちの席がごちゃ混ぜで、すぐ周りで食べている人たちをウチの小さい子供が羨ましそうに見ていて、あ～ぁと思いました。何となくフロアの中でも席を分けてくれればいいのに・・・

It was nice to be guided from the information center to the bus stop right after arrival, but even though there were already four people (from three hotels) gathered, we were made to wait for nearly 20 minutes. I always use this service, but I can't help but feel that the quality is getting worse and worse.

I used Roberts for all transfers between the airport and hotels on the Big Island and Oahu. The pickup at the airport and the hotel was timely, and I was able to use the service without any worries. It seems they have a large number of vehicles, so I wasn't kept waiting due to other passengers' schedules. I would like to use this service for future trips to Hawaii as well.

I used Roberts for all my transfers between the airport and hotels on the Big Island and Oahu. The pickup at the airport and the hotel was timely, and I was able to use the service without any worries. It seems they have a large number of vehicles, so I wasn't kept waiting due to the schedules of other passengers. I would like to use this service for my future trips to Hawaii as well.

This hike takes you through the rainforest side of Maui. Our guide, Sarah, was very knowledgeable. She was able to answer our questions about the plants and animals along our hike. The waterfalls were beautiful. The jumps into the pools were a lot of fun and the guides gave good instruction on jumping which made me feel confident. The food was substantial for the duration of the hike. We were provided bananas and pineapple, both which were delicious. I had the peanut butter and jelly sandwich, which was hearty for a PB&J. My husband had the turkey sandwich, and the slice of turkey was surprisingly thick making for a filling meal. Take advantage of the bug spray they provide. My husband didn't get bit, while I, not being as diligent with coverage, got a few bites. This was the last activity we decided to add to our itinerary and it turned out to be our favorite tour of our vacation.

There were several Japanese-speaking staff members, and thanks to their guidance in Japanese, I was able to fully enjoy the tour. The main place I wanted to visit was the filming location of Jurassic Park and Jurassic World.

We traveled to the Jurassic Park filming site by large bus, where the guide took photos with a dinosaur figure.

At the Jurassic World filming location, the set where the Indominus Rex was contained remained intact, and we were able to drive inside. It was like an exploration course on a mountain road among several options. It felt like we were heading towards the bumpy road deep in Kualoa Ranch. While we couldn't get out of the car there, we could take photos from inside. I was sitting on the left side, so I was able to take pictures with the Indominus Rex's claw marks in the background.

I am very satisfied because I wanted to visit this set from Jurassic World. I hope this information can help others who are looking for the same experience, as I had a hard time finding it myself.

メインで行きたかったのはジュラシックパーク・ジュラシックワールドの撮影地でした。
ジュラシックパークの撮影地は大型バスで行き、ガイドさんが恐竜の人形を持って撮影してくれました。

ジュラシックワールドの撮影地ではインドミナスレックスが隔離されていたセットがそのまま残っており、そこの中に車で入ることができました。
それは、コースがいくつか選べる中の山道の探検コース？のようなものでした。クアロアランチの奥のデコボコ道まで進もう！みたいなものです。
そこで車を降りることはできませんが、車の中から撮影できました。私は左側に座っていたので、インドミナスレックスの爪痕を背景に撮影できました。

ジュラシックワールドのこちらのセットに行きたかった為、とても満足です。
こちらの情報を探してもなかなか見つけることができなかった為、同じような思いの方のお役に立てればと思います。

The Yamapi guide is fun! They also provide details about Haleakalā. The sunset isn't just about the sun setting; there are explanations about the color gradients in the sky and the Earth's formation, which were very educational. I can't go to Maui often, but this is a tour I want to join again next time. The sushi in the bento was delicious!

At first I was disappointed to hear my tour was cancelled due to the tour guide falling ill, but a second message on my machine said the owner, Marie, would be personally taking over the tour and would be picking me up right on time!

Marie was a great host/teacher who knows the great photo spots of Oahu and at what time of the day to be there. She taught me so much about my DSLR that I had no idea about. And the gorgeous sunset was just the perfect way to top off the session.

On March 31, I used the return shuttle from Hilton Hawaiian Village to Honolulu Airport. Unlike the comfort of the outbound trip, the return was the worst experience.

We were scheduled to be picked up at the Grand Islander bus stop at 9:25, but the shuttle did not arrive even after 10 minutes past the scheduled time. After about 20 minutes, I contacted the local inquiry number to check, and that’s when the driver finally showed up.

When we got into the vehicle, we were probably the last passengers. However, the driver left the vehicle and did not return for about 15 minutes. In the end, we departed the hotel over 30 minutes later than originally planned. Is this what they call "Hawaii time"? Is waiting 30 minutes considered normal? There was no explanation or apology from the driver. The family traveling with us also seemed to have waited quite a while and said they would definitely not use this service again.

９時25分にグランド・アイランダーバス停でピックアップの予定でしたが、予定時間から５分過ぎ、１０分が過ぎても一行にシャトルは現れず。２０分位過ぎたことろで、現地問い合わせ先に連絡して確認してもらっていることろにドライバー登場。
案内されて車に乗り込むと多分僕たちが最後の乗客。にもかかわらずドライバーは車から離れて１５分くらい戻らずという状況。結局当初の予定よりも３０分以上遅れてホテルを出発。これがいわゆるハワイ時間なのか？３０分待ちは当たり前ですか？ドライバーから説明や謝罪もない。同乗していたファミリーもかなり待たされたらしく、次は絶対に利用しないと言っていましたよ。

On March 25, I used the service from Honolulu Airport to Hilton Hawaiian Village. I missed the sign for the reception counter and wandered a bit, but I quickly found the counter and completed the check-in without any issues. The shuttle stop was also nearby. There were only two couples, including us, and I thought we might have to wait until more people arrived, but the shuttle arrived in about ten minutes and we headed to the hotel. There were already about three groups on the shuttle, but there was plenty of space inside, making it comfortable. The roads were clear, and we moved smoothly to the hotel. Although we waited for about ten minutes, the cheerful staff kept the conversation lively with local topics from Hawaii and Japan, so we didn't get bored at all.

受付カウンターのサインを見落としてしまい、少しさ迷ったがすぐにカウンターを見つけて無事に受付完了。
シャトル乗り場も近かった。私たちと他のご夫婦の2組しかおらず、もっと人数がそろうまで待たされるかと思いきや１０分ほどでシャトルが到着してホテルへ出発。シャトルにはすでに三組ほど乗っていたが、車内は余裕ありで快適。途中の道路も空いていて順調にホテルまで移動できました。
10分程の待ち時間でしたが、陽気なスタッフがハワイと日本のローカルな話題で盛り上げてくれ、
