The Xplore ride was really fun and brought out the kid in me! If you know a little about VR and Mixed Reality, this experience starts off with Mixed Reality with nice fish and marine life around you and some light educational sections on Waikiki and the beaches. The ride does transition into full VR at times with underwater volcanic vents, above ground volcanic eruption, a 360 visual aerial view above the islands (nice!), and an underwater route with all sorts of aquatic creatures around you, known to be local to the islands and some nice coral (this was my favorite part). There is more light educational pieces dispersed in these full on VR parts as well. The movement of the bus really gives you the sense of “traveling” through the VR worlds and even the fish “swimming” through the bus in Mixed Reality was enhanced by the movement. Our host was wonderful and really explained everything well! The driver was very friendly too. The experience can be heard in Japanese or English. Too me, the only negative, though the headsets are of very high quality, was the pass through video of the outside was a bit unfocused when it was too far in the distance (like the ocean views near Diamond Head). Final thoughts are that it is definitely worth it and please consider supporting this business and others that bring the beauty of nature and the immersion of technology and imagination together!

The flow was from Dole Plantation to exploring Haleiwa. Due to multiple courses sharing the same shuttle, the stay at Dole Plantation was only 30 minutes. I hurried through shopping and had some soft serve ice cream, so it would have been nice to have about 15 more minutes there.
The time spent exploring Haleiwa was a generous 4 hours, which was just right for enjoying the ocean, visiting cafes, and having lunch.
Gem, who provided the shuttle service, was very knowledgeable and shared information about Hawaii's history, climate, and other interesting facts along the way, which was extremely educational!

Dole プランテーション→ハレイワ散策という流れでした。同じ送迎車複数のコースの方がいらっしゃる関係でDole プランテーションの滞在時間が30分でした。駆け足でショッピングをしソフトクリームを食べたので、あと15分くらい滞在時間があったらよかったです。
ハレイワ散策はたっぷり4時間あり、海を見たりカフェに行ったり、ランチをしたりして過ごすとちょうど良かったです。
送迎をしてくださったGemさんはとでも知識豊富でハワイの歴史や気候、そのほか他人に教えてくなるようなハワイについての情報を道中で教えてくださり、非常に勉強になりました！

The route from the Onizuka Center to the summit was quite off-road, so it was definitely the right decision to join the tour. The outerwear we were provided was very warm. Along the way, he helped us purchase donuts and poke bowls at a supermarket as we headed to the summit. Perhaps because it was a day when the moon didn't interfere, the road was congested, so we took photos with the Haleakalā sign with the people we were with. I arrived in Honolulu on a domestic flight.

There should have been a staff member in a yellow aloha shirt right outside the baggage claim, but there was no one! I had no choice but to follow the large sign to the pickup location shown in the photo above. However, feeling that just waiting wouldn’t get me anywhere, I went back and forth between the baggage claim area and the designated pickup spot twice.

I reluctantly called Roberts' company on an international phone call (English only). After informing them that no staff were present and exchanging messages for a while, it seemed they contacted someone, and a staff member finally appeared in a hurry. They made excuses that one staff member was off that day and that this one person was handling everything, possibly forgetting about me... which they probably did.

The staff member had a list of names and flight times, and even though my flight had arrived seven minutes early, it seems they overlooked me. It had been 45 minutes since I picked up my luggage before I got on the van. The staff member forgot my order and was only attending to other customers, leaving their post, and by the time I was searching and waiting, the shuttle bus had already departed. Moreover, the pickup location that day was different from usual.

Ultimately, it was about an hour after I picked up my luggage before the van departed. The destination was a place that should take about 20-30 minutes by car (right in the middle of Waikiki), so there should have been plenty of buses, but it turned out to be only one per hour.

With Uber and Lyft, you have to go up to the upper floors via the elevator to get a ride, which was also a hassle. I thought the Roberts shuttle bus would be reasonable and good for going to Waikiki, but it was truly the worst. The cost was not much different from what I found for Lyft at that time.

Moreover, when I told the driver that I had been waiting for an hour and asked how much longer I would have to wait, instead of apologizing, he clicked his tongue. その日はスタッフが1人休みだったとか言い訳をして、そのスタッフ1人で対応していて、私の対応を忘れていたのか・・・忘れていたんでしょうね。
そのスタッフは、名前のリストやフライト時間の記録を持っていて、私のフライトも遅れたのでなく、7分早く到着していたのに、見落としていたようですね。
バンに乗ったのは、荷物を受け取ってから、45分間経過していました。
係員が私のオーダーを忘れていて、他のお客様のみの対応をしていて、持ち場を離れ、既に、私が探したり待っている間にもシャトルバスは出発済みとのこと。
しかも、その日のピックアップは場所はいつもと違うという状況でした。
最終的には、荷物をピックアップしてから1時間位経過してバンは、出発しました。
目的地までは車で20〜30分位で着く場所(ワイキキのど真ん中のありふれた場所)だったので、本数が多いはずですが、結果的には、1時間に1本だったみたいです。
UberやLyftの場合、エレベーターで上の階へ上がって配車してもらうので、面倒なのもありました。
そこで、ワイキキへ行くならば、Robertsのシャトルバスがリーズナブルで良いかと思いましたが、本当に最悪でした。
コスト的にも、その時、検索したLyftとあまり変わらなかったです。
しかも、ドライバーさんにも、1時間も待っていることを告げ、あとどの位待つのか聞くと、謝るどころか、舌打ちしてました。
最後、降りた際にお礼の挨拶をドライバーにしましたが、ニコッともせず、睨むような顔をしていました。
ドライバーもドライバーで、自分のミスではなくても会社のミスなのに、舌打ちや睨むのは可笑しいと思いました。
Robertsは2度と使いません！

The scenery is breathtaking, and you can easily reach mountains over 4,000 meters. They provide excellent cold weather gear. The guide's attention to detail was wonderful! Although the guide was foreign (English-speaking), it wasn't a problem as long as you could understand a little. Instructions were given in Japanese at key points.

Please experience the scenery and highlights for yourself. An impressive landscape and a grand panorama await you. It probably won't come across in photos...

It was almost a full moon, but if there's a next time, I'd like to aim for a new moon!

圧巻の風景で、気軽に4000m以上の山に到達できます。
寒さ対策もバッチリして貰えますし。ガイドさんの気配りが素晴らしかったです！
外国人ガイド(英語)でしたが、少しのヒアリングが出来れば問題無かったです。

風景や見どころは行ってみて体験してみてください。圧巻の風景と大パノラマが広がります。
