There was no mention of Japanese-speaking staff, but the person who picked me up at the airport spoke fluent Japanese, and the other passengers were all Japanese. (I used the same company for my return trip, but there were mostly foreigners.) As a result, I arrived smoothly at my hotel in Honolulu without any issues. I received a shell lei upon my arrival at the airport.

I usually ask a Japanese tour company for transportation, but this time I used a domestic flight in the United States and there was no transportation available due to the late arrival, so I requested this service. They called my name right at the exit and guided me. The shuttle had only an American couple besides me, and the driver was very upbeat, chatting with the couple the whole time. Occasionally, he would ask for my agreement or pose questions, but he spoke so quickly that I often couldn't catch what he was saying, which was a bit troublesome. We were really looking forward to the trip. When we got there we sat for quite awhile waiting for late people and people running back and forth to their car. I know this is not the tour company’s fault but annoying still. As we set off it started to rain. This turned into one of the worst rain storms the island had in years. Flash floods and power outages etc. The tour probably should have been cut short but they did bring hot coffee and ponchos which was great. Lunch was good and the guides giggles and Troy tried to make the best of things. I would have really enjoyed doing this when it wasn’t pouring

However, I was dropped off quite a distance from the check-in counter, so I had to walk quite a bit while pulling two suitcases, which was a bit disappointing.

The canyon horseback riding was amazing. After a 30-minute explanation, we had an hour of riding. I was also able to enjoy shopping and dining in Haleiwa. I could shop at the pineapple farm, and finally, I got to see sea turtles. It was a fulfilling day.
