I participated in a sandbar tour for the first time. The staff were fun and lively, and I had a wonderful time. As for the main event, we saw so many sea turtles that it felt almost staged! (laughs) The sandbar was beautiful, and the snorkeling that followed was safe and well-organized, making it enjoyable even for my 5-year-old child!

The guidance was clear and easy to understand in Japanese, allowing me to enjoy the half-day experience. I participated with my mother and daughter. This was the second time for my mother and daughter at the sandbar, and since the water level was up to my mother's chest last time, it seemed scary for them, so we booked a course that matched the low tide.

Thanks to that, the water level was below our knees, and the weather was great, allowing us to have a wonderful time.

We also got to see sea turtles and enjoyed snorkeling around the coral with my daughter.

The tour staff were very friendly and took photos for us. If there's another opportunity, I would definitely like to participate again.

He seemed nervous with the unfamiliar life jacket and snorkel, but the class representative, Julie, kindly supported him, and we were able to see dolphins up close. Unfortunately, we could only see sea turtles from the boat because my child gets cold easily, but we spotted about four of them. The spam musubi for a light snack was also delicious. The other participants and the staff were very friendly, and the final hula was a lot of fun. I definitely want to participate again once my son can swim better! Julie, please wait for us until then!

I checked the low tide times during my stay and chose a day when the tour coincided with low tide. The water level at the sandbar was up to my waist, but it was beautifully clear and I was truly impressed. The hamburgers for lunch were delicious, and I was very satisfied! Although it rained on and off that day and there was some wind, I was told that the diving spot wasn't very clear, but I was still able to play with a lot of fish, and it was really fun. My husband, who cannot swim, was encouraged to try snorkeling, and he looked genuinely happy to see the underwater world for the first time in his life! The hamburger for lunch was also delicious, and I am grateful to all the staff.

In June, I participated in this tour. When I first tried snorkeling, I struggled and couldn't really see much underwater, which was a disaster. So, I really hesitated about joining this time, but after reading other people's experiences, I decided to go for it.

As a result, I received really kind and thorough instruction from Chieko and Dan, and I am truly grateful to them. I was scared to even put my face in the water and thought I might not be able to do it, but Dan told me to breathe slowly and relax, holding my hand tightly. Then, the tour with six people started! Chieko took over and guided us, swimming while holding our hands. Gradually, my fear disappeared, and when we spotted fish, Chieko would call out and even tell us their names, which made me very happy.

Since the rocks are very close, I recommend borrowing a wetsuit. It helps those who are not very good at swimming to float more easily and prevents injuries. The snorkel I borrowed here ensures that as long as you can breathe through your mouth, no water will come in, so for those who are anxious like me or not confident in swimming, you can definitely participate. If I could do it, anyone can... haha.

Swimming for almost an hour can be quite tiring, but seeing the fish makes all the fatigue disappear. If you want to get out, they will take you back to shore.

Lastly, there can be some seasickness, so I think it's a good idea for those prone to motion sickness to take medication beforehand. 結果、本当に親切丁寧に教えてくださってチエコさんダンさんには本当にお世話になりました。顔をつけるところから怖くて無理かなあ？と思っていたところ、ダンさんがゆっくり息をしてください。力抜いてくださいと言って手をしっかり握ってくださいました。そして、6名でのツアースタート！チエコさんに交代してみんなの後をしっかり手をひっぱって泳いでくれました。だんだん怖さもなくなり、魚をみつけてはチエコさんが声をかけてくださって、お魚の名前も教えてくれたり、うれしかったです。岩がとっても近いのでウエットスーツを借りることをおすすめします。泳ぎがあまり得意でない方は浮きやすくなりますし、ケガ防止にもなります。こちらでお借りしたシュノーケルは呼吸さえ口で出来れば絶対に水が入ってくることはありませんので、私のように不安のある方、泳ぎが得意でない方、参加を迷われてる方、大丈夫です。私でもできましたから。。。。笑
1時間近く泳ぎっぱなしでかなり疲れますがお魚さんを見たら疲れも吹っ飛びますよ。上がりたくなれば沖まで連れて行ってくれます。
最後に波酔いがありますので、船酔いしやすい方は薬を飲んでいくといいと思います。
本当にチエコさん最後の最後まで手を引っ張って泳いで下さりありがとうございました。はじめて海の中をお魚さんと一緒に泳げるという体験をさせていただきました。感謝しています。

I participated with my 6-year-old daughter, who just turned six, and my parents in their 70s, making it a three-generation outing.

Renting a wetsuit was essential, especially for slim individuals, children, and the elderly. It gets surprisingly cold floating in the sea for a long time without a wetsuit, and after seeing the dolphins, when the boat moves to the snorkeling spot, it’s really cold with the wind on a wet body. By the way, it was sunny at the end of June. Everyone on the trip was wearing one.

My daughter wore a swimsuit, a short-sleeve rash guard, rash leggings, and a rented wetsuit that was long-sleeved and shorts. Even with that, she was shivering and had blue lips after getting out of the water. I thought maybe I should have gotten her a thicker, warmer long-sleeve and long-pants rash guard. Since children are just floating and not swimming hard, they get colder more easily.

After snorkeling, my daughter was so cold that she wanted to take off her wet swimsuit immediately, so she quickly changed into her regular clothes on the boat while shivering, put on a windbreaker, and finally stopped shivering once she wore a down jacket. I think it would be reassuring to bring a compact ultra-down jacket from Uniqlo for children who get cold easily.

A children's pool towel with a hood and snaps is convenient for changing anywhere. A super absorbent, quick-drying, ultra-thin chamois towel was also very handy. No matter how many beach towels you have from the hotel, it’s never enough.

By the way, my daughter could do a face-down flutter kick and had her first snorkeling experience at Hanauma Bay the day before. My husband went into the sea first, and the staff helped lower my daughter from the boat, where my husband caught her below. From the boat to the water's surface, it’s close enough that you can sit and your feet won’t reach, but it’s not a scary height. Everyone else jumped in from standing, but since we were last in line, my mother and I sat down and slipped into the sea. They also provide floatation devices. The support and encouragement from the staff were experienced and made me feel really safe while snorkeling.

I recommend the dissolvable motion sickness tablets. I usually get seasick even with a float, but this time I was perfectly fine.

Juri, the class representative, was just like a class representative should be—very caring and someone you can rely on. I was really satisfied with the thoughtful consideration and kindness she showed, and I’m so glad I participated. The bus ride was refreshing and fun, with a very clear guide. I made truly wonderful memories.

今回、こちらの口コミをとても参考にさせていただきましたので、私の感想も少しのせてみますね。

6歳になったばかりの年長さんの娘と、70代の両親と３世代での参加です。

ウェットスーツのレンタルは必須でした。特に細身の方。お子様やお年寄り。必須です！
海で長時間浮かんでいるのも、ウェットスーツが無いと、思いのほか寒くなってくるので耐えられないのと、イルカを見た後、船がシュノーケルスポットへ移動する時も、濡れた体で風を受けるので、ウェットスーツ着ていないと寒くて無理です！
ちなみに6月末で晴天です。　
参加者全員着用してました。

娘は水着+半袖ラッシュガード+ラッシュレギンス+レンタルのウェットスーツは長袖半ズボンで、それでも海から上がるとガタガタ震えて唇青くて。。
もっと上下厚手の保温タイプの長袖長ズボンラッシュにしてあげれば良かったかな～くらいな感じです。子供は特に浮かんでいるだけなので、一生懸命泳がないから余計寒いのですね。

シュノーケルが終わると、娘は寒すぎて、濡れた水着をすぐに脱ぎたがりましたので、船上で震えながらもパパッと普段着に着替え、防風ウィンドブレーカーをはおり、更にダウンジャケットでようやく震えが止まった様子。
寒がりなお子様にはコンパクトなユ○クロのウルトラダウンみたいなのを是非念のためお持ちになると安心だと思います。

フードやスナップのついた子供用のプールタオルは何処でもお着替えが出来て便利。
タオルも超吸水、超速乾、超薄のセームタオルが便利でした。ホテルのビーチタオルでは何枚あっても足りません。

ちなみに娘は顔付ばた足が出来る程度で、前日にハナウマ湾で初めてシュノーケルを経験した所。
パパが先に海におりて、船上からスタッフの方に娘を抱き下ろしてもらい、パパが下で受け取る形。船から水面は、座って足は届かないけれど、かなり近いです。皆さん立って足から飛び降りる感じですが、順番の最後だったので、私や母は座ってから、足からスルッと海に降りました。怖くない高さです。
浮き棒等貸して下さいます。
サポートも声掛けもベテランで、本当に安心してシュノーケル出来ました。

舐めるタイプの酔止めはおすすめです。普段浮き輪でも酔う私ですが、今回はバッチリでした。

学級委員のじゅりさんが、まさに学級委員って感じで、とっても面倒見がよくて思わず頼りたくなる本当に素敵な方で、細やかな配慮と優しい気配りで、こちらに参加して本当に良かったと大満足でした。
バスの中でも爽やかで楽しくて、とても分かりやすいガイドをして頂きました。本当に素敵な思い出が出来ました。

また次回も必ずイルカ中学を選びます！本当にありがとうございました！

During my second visit to the Big Island, I participated in the manta night snorkeling that I had wanted to join for a long time. At first, I was a bit anxious because we couldn't see them, but towards the end, the mantas came multiple times, making it the best day ever! I was truly moved to see that they really exist! The ocean around the Big Island is wonderful! In June, the water wasn't too cold, but the return trip on the rubber boat was uncomfortable and made me feel sick. Also, I arrived by rental car, but I panicked because I couldn't find the landmark sign. Has the sign changed? Please check for the sake of future visitors.

A big shout out to Coreen (I hope I spelled correct), my 7 year old daughter freaked out when she hit the water so the wife and my 5 year old son went on, after my son was done holding onto me I took him back to the boat it was at that time that another of the crew members had a baby octopus and my son freaked so back on the boat he goes, but the good part was Corren had my 7 year old daughter with aspergers in the water and ready to swim over to us, when she saw the turtles and fish she freaked so back to the boat she goes, but it was truly amazing and we will do it again. No complaints about the boat, captain and crew. It was all professional and attentive. Food was great, beer selection included local and usual brands. As advertised, they don't overcrowd the boat, so there's plenty of room for the passengers. I do recommend a light jacket and hat. Unless you stay in the cabin, you will get wet. How much will depend on where you sit/stand. Amazing views to be seen and we were lucky enough to see a school of porpoises jumping around the ship. Sunset off the aft (back) of the ship was worth it.

Exceeded my expectations on all levels. The staff were knowledgeable about history, myths, sea life and safety. Not only did I learn so much on the trip, but I felt safe, well-fed, well-cared for, and had a lot of fun! The service and food were outstanding. I can't recommend this trip highly enough.

We participated as a couple. After arriving in Hawaii, we struggled with the time difference and contacted them to see if we could change our schedule from morning to afternoon. Fortunately, we were able to move it to the following afternoon. They were flexible and accommodating, which we greatly appreciated.

Upon meeting Chieko, whose reliable yet gentle demeanor put us at ease, we were able to express our concerns right away, and she was very considerate throughout. After joining Dan and a family from Seattle, we received excellent support and were able to enjoy snorkeling with peace of mind.

We were thrilled to see a honu and even downloaded photos from Facebook. I took motion sickness medication, but my husband ended up feeling seasick, and I apologize for any concern that caused. However, we had a wonderful time! Thank you!

We had Kevin and Jared lead our snuba diving experience. They were extremely friendly and knew everyone in our group on a first name basis. My wife and I were a little nervous before arriving because we had never done anything like this before. The experience was amazing! It was easy to breathe under water and Kevin and Jared provided all kinds of tips for getting water out of your goggles, breathing, communicating, swimming, ear pressure relief and more. I would go back in a heartbeat. The tour is also led by a guide (Kevin). He points out creatures and picks them up (if possible/safe) along the way. He also swam slow to allow you to explore and not get exhausted. The guides are constantly checking on you throughout the entire trip. FIVE STARS!

Even children could stand easily, and since there were no waves, they were able to practice swimming and seemed to be having a lot of fun. Tours that include lunch on the boat often don't offer great meals, but this tour provided freshly grilled hamburgers. There are also paid options for wine and beer, making it a tour that both adults and children can enjoy. I would love to repeat this experience next time.

We took a boat to a wonderful sandbar!
It was cloudy, so the photos didn't turn out great, but in reality, the water was clear and beautiful!
The Japanese guide really got everyone excited, took lots of photos, and it became a great memory!
The snorkeling was amazing with beautiful fish swimming around and the coral was stunning!
The BBQ hamburgers we had on the boat were very American and absolutely delicious!
The guide's child was there too, and they were adorable!
They even showed us the location of the turtles using a clock as a reference!
