I couldn't see any big jumps, but I was able to see spouts near the boat multiple times. The guide spoke English, but they showed us a Japanese explanation file. It was also nice to be able to view Mauna Kea from the sea.

大きなジャンピングは見れませんでしたが、何度も船の近くで潮吹きを見ることができました。
ガイドは英語でしたが、日本語の解説ファイルを見せてくれました。
マウナケア山を海から眺めることもできて良かったです。

We participated as two mature couples. It was our first experience, but the explanations in Japanese provided a sense of security, and we were able to enjoy the exciting experience. Drinks and desserts were also provided, and we enjoyed the rock bath on the lava.

熟年カップル２組で参加しました。初体験でしたが、日本語での説明もあり安心感を持って体験エキサイティングできました。飲み物やデザートも用意されており溶岩の上で岩盤浴も楽しみました。

This time, we signed up for the early morning plan with four people. Since there were no others, it was just the four of us, allowing for a one-on-one style instruction on how to kayak, and they stayed close by the whole time. We paddled out into the vast Pacific Ocean, and it felt very safe and comfortable. At first, it was tough getting up early in the morning, but I was deeply moved when I saw the sunrise. I haven't experienced the afternoon plan, but I think the early morning plan is better because the waves are smaller and you can see the sunrise.

Unfortunately, we didn't see any dolphins this time, but it seems that in general, the early morning offers more opportunities to encounter dolphins, so if you're going, I think the early morning is the best choice.

今回、４名で早朝プランに申し込みました。他には、居なかったので、僕たち４名だけだったので、マンツーマン的に、やさしくカヤックの乗り方の指導とずーと、そばに寄り添って貰い、太平洋の大海原に漕ぎ出していきましたが、とても安心で、快適でした。最初、朝早くて、辛かったですが、朝日を見たときは大感激でした。午後プランは、経験していませんが、早朝プランの方が、波も少なく、朝日も見れるのでお勧めだと思います。
また、今回は残念ながら、イルカは見ることが出来ませんでしたが、通常だと早朝の方がイルカに出会える機会も多いみたいなので、行くのなら早朝が良いと思います。

The morning cruise was wonderful, blessed with great weather. A rainbow appeared, the sky was beautiful, and it felt great just to see people doing yoga on the beach or taking a walk. Once we headed out, we saw whales swimming in the ocean everywhere.

These are completely wild whales, right? I felt like I was in the great outdoors and lost track of time. The boat rocked quite a bit, so I couldn't take photos myself, but there was someone on board with a high-performance camera with a telephoto lens who captured some amazing shots. Everyone got the data from that person and we excitedly talked as if we had taken the photos ourselves.

The cruise also included drinks and light snacks, making it a very satisfying experience.

朝のクルーズは、天気に恵まれて、素晴らしいものでした。虹が出て、空の景色は良いし、浜辺ではヨガをやる人達がいたり、散歩するだけでも気持ち良かったです。さて、沖へ出て、海を泳ぐクジラがあちこちに居ました。
これって、完全に野生の鯨ですよね。なんか、大自然の中にいるんだ！という感覚になって、時間を忘れました。けっこう船が揺れたので、自分では写真は撮れませんでしたが、同乗してた人の中にかなり高性能の望遠レンズ付きカメラを持ってた人が、素晴らしいショットを取っていて、みんなその人からデータを貰って、あたかも自分が撮ったみたいな話をして盛り上がりました。
飲み物や軽食も付いていて、とても満足なクルーズでした。

Around 5 PM, we left the harbor and watched the sunset over the ocean. There were about four to five boats offshore. The wind was a bit strong, and the waves crashed violently against the Sheraton Hotel's pier. Feeling a little cold, I tightened my wetsuit up to my neck. Around 6 PM, enveloped in twilight, about 20 participants took turns entering the sea and gazing at the surface. Perhaps due to the weather, the manta rays were not appearing easily... Shortly after, they showed up in slightly deeper waters (3-5 meters?) and passed by. As my body temperature dropped and about 40-50 minutes had passed, suddenly, a manta ray performed a backflip right beneath me! I was moved by the manta's spirit! For those prone to seasickness, feeling cold, or afraid of the ocean, I think it's good to approach this experience with a bit of caution. That said, since it's nature, whether you get to see the manta rays beautifully is a matter of luck.

１７時頃港を出て沖で日が沈むのを眺めています。沖合には４－５隻のボート・船。風はやや強く、シェラトンホテルの岸壁に激しく波が打ち付けられます。少し寒いな、とも感じてウエットスーツを首元までしめます。薄闇につつまれる１８時ごろ（だったと思います）、２０人ほどの参加者が順繰りに海へ入り、海面をみつめます。天候のせいか、なかなかマンタは現れててくれません。。。それからほどなく少し深い（３－５ｍ？）ところに現れては、通りすぎていきます。体温も下がってきて、４０－５０分が過ぎるころ、いきなり自分のからだの真下あたりからバック転をしながら、マンタがサービスしてくれました！マンタの心意気に感動でした！船酔いする方、寒がりの方、海が怖い方、ちょっとだけ用心して臨むとよいと思います。とはいえ自然のことなので、マンタが綺麗に見えるかどうかは運次第です；

This time, I went to Hawaii for my honeymoon and booked this tour. It was an experience beyond my imagination. It was so wonderful that I forgot to take pictures. Wild dolphins swam around us, performing three flips, and it was so mystical and amazing that I thought I was dreaming. Our guide, Daisuke, and the captain were perfectly in sync, and they were incredibly knowledgeable about the ecosystem, providing detailed explanations to all our questions. They took us to the best spots to see the dolphins, and coincidentally, there were whales nearby that day, so we got to see not only dolphins but also whales. It was truly the best experience. I definitely want to participate again.

今回はハネムーンでハワイに行き、このツアーを予約させていただきました。
想像以上に素晴らしい体験ができました。
素晴らしすぎて写真を撮るのを忘れてしまいました。
野性のイルカが何頭も私達の周りを泳ぎ、3回転ジャンプをして見せてくれたり、これは夢なのかと思うくらい神秘的で素晴らしかったです。
ガイドのダイスケさんと船長さんの息もぴったりだし、生態についてもものすごく詳しいので何を聞いても詳しく説明してくれました。
イルカを見る場所のベストポジションに連れて行ってくれましたし、たまたまこの日は鯨が近くにいるとのことでイルカだけではなく鯨も見
せてくれました。
本当に最高の体験でした。
ぜひまた参加したいです。

Most participants are elderly individuals who cannot engage in snorkeling or other marine sports. At the deepest point, we dive down to about 30 meters to see sunken ships and other sights on the seabed. There is also a Japanese audio guide available, so I don't think there will be any issues. If you request a pickup, you will arrive about an hour before the meeting time, and there will be an additional 45 minutes after the return. I think it would be efficient to enjoy some tea nearby or take a stroll around Kailua-Kona during this time. The hotel we stayed at only had high-end souvenir shops, and since we weren't planning to stop by Honolulu, it was great to be able to buy souvenirs all at once at the ABC Store inside the King Kamehameha Hotel.

参加者は、シュノーケルやその他のマリンスポーツができない御高齢の方がほとんどです。いちばん深いところでは、海底30メートルくらいまで潜ります。海底に沈んだ船なども見ることができます。日本語のイヤホンガイドもあり、困ることはほとんどないと思われます。送迎をお願いした場合、集合時間の一時間前くらいに着き、帰りもさらに45分ほど時間があります。この時間に、近くでお茶を飲んだりカイルア・コナの散策もしてしまうと効率が良いと思います。私たちが泊まったホテルには高級なお土産屋さんしかなく、ホノルルにも立ち寄る予定がなかったので、キングスカメカメハホテルの中のABCストアでまとめてお土産を購入でき、良かったです。

I definitely saw it. The head, dorsal fin, and tail fin, among other things. However, I saw it jump from a distance after moving back a bit, and I thought I should have waited a little longer...

確かに見えましたがね。あたま、背びれ、尾ビレなど。でも、引き返し少し離れて遠目でジャンプした姿が見え、もう少し待ってればと、、、

After reading experiences about the smartphone tour and knowing it was a boat departing from Keauhou Bay, I thought it would be perfect for me since I easily get seasick and feel cold, so I made a reservation. However, on February 16, the day I made the reservation, I received an email via VELTRA at 9 AM notifying me that the tour was canceled due to bad weather. The message stated that I would receive a full refund, and there was a link below for rescheduling the reservation.

I quickly made a reservation for the following day, February 17, and soon received a confirmation reply through VELTRA. However, the next day, there were zero manta rays. When disembarking, I was told, "The office opens at 8 AM tomorrow, so please call." But the next day, I had a tour with Kona Brewing where I would be drinking, so I couldn't drive afterward, and I had to return home the following day.

In a bind, I sent a question email to the VELTRA representative who had sent me the cancellation email, but I received no reply. I had seen too many experiences on VELTRA and mistakenly thought that if I didn't see manta rays, I could try again anytime, similar to other tours. However, for this tour, the information about being able to retry within seven days if I didn't see manta rays only appeared if I opened the "View Details" section on my smartphone.

(There was also information in the Q&A about what to do if I didn't see manta rays, but I noticed it too late...) The guide might have explained the details about retrying when disembarking, but I couldn't understand because I'm not fluent in English. It's my own mistake, and there's nothing I can do about it, but I'm really disappointed that I didn't see any manta rays. Next time, I plan to choose a tour where I can retry anytime if I don't see manta rays.

スマホの体験談を読み、ケアウホウ湾から出る船とのことで、船酔いしやすく又寒がりの私にはこれだ！と思い、予約しましたが…。
予約をした２月16日は、VELTRA経由で朝９時にメールで天候不順で中止との連絡が。
金額は全額返金との文面、更にその下には日程を変更して予約する場合のリンクが貼られていました。
すぐに翌17日の予約を入れ、程なく予約確定の返事もVELTA経由で頂いたのですが…。
翌日決行するも、マンタはゼロ。
下船時『明日８時から事務所が開くので、電話してください』というような話をされましたが、翌日はコナブリューイングのツアーでお酒を飲むため、その後の運転はNG、そして次の日にはもう帰国せねばならず。
困り果て、中止メールを頂いたVERTRAの担当者さんに質問メールを入れましたが、返事はなく…。
VELTRAさんでツアーの体験談をいろいろ見すぎてしまったことで、マンタが見られなかった場合は、またいつでも挑戦可能という他のツアーの体験談と勘違いしてしまい、このツアーも再挑戦はいつでもOKなのだと思い込んでしまっていました。
このツアーは、スマホだと〔詳細を見る〕というところを開けないとマンタが見れなかった場合７日以内に再挑戦可能という文面が現れません。
（Q&Aにも、マンタに会えなかった場合のことが書いてありましたが、気づくのが遅かった…）
ガイドさんは、下船時に再挑戦に際しての詳しい話もされていたのかもしれませんが、英語が堪能ではないので、理解できず。
自分のミスで、仕方ないことですが、マンタが見られず、本当に残念です。
次回は、マンタに会えなかった場合は再挑戦がいつでもOKなところを選ぼうと思います。

Snorkelling in the night with manta rays was an awesome experience.
Everything was perfectly organized: Captain and "Mermaids" were professional, nice and helpful.
We did it with our two kids (8 and 11) and they loved it.
Big mantas swam a few cm from us: in many occasions it looked like it was better to keep the breath in order to avoid touching them!!
It was super-fun and safe.
I recommend this activity to everybody!!!!

The weather was great, and I was thrilled to see multiple whales up close! I decided to remember the experience rather than just capture it on camera, so I would love to join again if I get the chance! I didn't understand English, but thanks to the friendly crew staff, I had a wonderful time!

I was skeptical about whether I could really see whales up close, but I was able to see them several times. The drinks and snacks on board were plentiful, but unfortunately, I couldn't enjoy them much because the boat was rocking quite a bit.

本当に近くでクジラが見れるのか、疑心暗鬼でしたが何度も近くでクジラを見る事が出来た。船内の飲み物やスナック類も充実していたが、船がかなり揺れていた為実際にはあまり飲むことが出来ずに残念だった。

I've always wanted to learn how to surf and Jason was totally awesome and fun to work with. Although there were high surf warnings and strong current warnings going on at the time, I nailed a perfect 10, according to him, on only my 5th wave. I later got 3 in a row, including standing up, surfing the wave, and laying back down again without falling in the blue water below. I quickly caught on to many of the trends, such as interpreting the waves and knowing when to go for it. The first thing to do with learning most any skill is to find patterns.

Jason called me a natural at it, and I believe it, given how quickly I learned and how enjoyable my experience was. It did take me a bit of time to get used to getting up to the standing position from laying down, but the classroom-like aspect of the first segment really helped with that.

I would say the hardest part about this whole thing was finding a parking space for where you'd be doing the actual surfing itself. If you're lucky, you could find parking along the street close by, but chances are, you'll need the parking lot that's close to around 700 feet away, but what's a little walking when you've got a lot of paddling to do? It's a nice warm up, at least, to prepare yourself.

I chose the one on one option mainly because I felt it was going to be a skill I wanted to use in other locations. Little did I know, it actually ensured I could do this as everyone but me canceled due to the surf conditions.

This was a wonderful end very enlightening and historical luau.
This show was beautiful and colorful!
We appreciate the wonderful choices of foods and the special choice for my husband's vegetarian meal.
The locale was extra good next to the temple,ocean and the historical exhibits in the hotel.

I was amazed to see so many dolphins up close, more than I had expected. It was truly a fun time! The guide was also fantastic!

I was able to try multiple times to swim with the dolphins up close. Thanks to that, I was able to swim among a pod of dolphins. As a bonus, I even got to see a whale, which made me very satisfied. Daisuke truly conveyed his love for dolphins, and it felt like he understood their feelings as well. I'm a repeat visitor to the Big Island, and I will definitely be a repeat customer for this tour too!

Because it was a morning cruise, they made good on sighting whales. There were multiple sightings. The amount of time on the boat was good, because after the sightings, I could actually relax and just enjoy the rest of the boat ride. The refreshments were tremendous. The crew was very generous and informative. I know the crew couldn't get as close as I would have liked, because of regulations, but I sure would have liked to have closer pictures and more majestic surfacings. But, overall we were happy with the cruise.

I lined up a little earlier than the scheduled time and was the third group. As time passed, more and more people lined up. Since entry is based on the order of arrival, I think it's best to line up early if you want a better seat.

After checking in, you have to wait before entering the venue. Check-in is at 5 PM, and the doors open at 5:30 PM, so you will wait for about 30 minutes.

First, you receive a welcome drink and are shown to your seat. Once seated, you are free to enjoy, but the food is only for children. There is a place where you can enjoy temporary tattoos and small items, and while you're having fun there, the food for adults will become available.

Even before the main show starts, there are songs and dances on stage, and music is always playing, so you can have a pleasant time.

As the sun sets and it gets somewhat dark, the main show begins. There are classic fire shows and hula dances. Since my seat was a bit far, I think it's better to choose a higher seat if you're looking for a more intense experience.

Additionally, from 8 AM on the day of the event, you can watch the preparation of a whole roasted pig. This is also quite impressive, so I recommend seeing that as well.

時間よりちょっと早めに並んだら、3組目でした。時間を過ぎるとどんどん並んで…。並んだ順に案内なので、少しでもよい席がよかったら、早めに並ぶといいと思います。
受付のあと、会場に入るまで待たされます。17時に受付、17時30分開場なので、30分ほど待ちます。
まずウエルカムドリンクをもらい、席に案内されます。席に着いたらあとは自由ですが、食べ物は子ども用しかありません。洗うと落ちるタトゥーや小物売り場があるので、そこで楽しんでたら大人用の食べ物がオープンになります。

メインのショーが始まるまでも、舞台では歌やダンスがあったり、常に音楽が流れてるので、心地よい時間を過ごすことができます。

日が落ちて、ある程度暗くなってくると、いよいよメインのショーです。定番のファイヤーショーやフラダンスです。少し席が遠かったので、迫力を求めるならば高い席にした方がよいと思います。

また、当日朝8時から、豚の丸焼きの準備を見ることができます。これもなかなか見ごたえがあるので、合わせて見ることを推薦します。

We tried surfing for the first time as a couple with a combined age of 102 years, and we were able to ride the waves right away. The instructor was very kind and taught us patiently, which made it so much fun! ❣️
It was a bit disappointing that there were no photos available online afterward. Next time, I would like to check the photos first. I definitely want to do this again! ❣️

初めてサーフィンを夫婦の年齢合計102歳でやって、すぐ乗れました。付きっ切りで、優しく丁寧に教えてくれて、とっても楽しかったです❣️
後からネットで見れる写真がなかったのが残念でした。今度は最初に写真の確認したいです。

Had a great time with our guide Kevin, he was helpful with instructions on how to paddle so you don't over work yourself, and how to control your kayak, also how to get in and out of the kayak safely. Has nice place for snorkeling with nice variety of wildlife .

Pros:
-Fun, knowledgeable guides
-Comfortable boat
-Saw 8+ different whales, 16+ different sightings

Cons:
-Whales were pretty far away (200+ yds)

Overall:
-Highly recommend for first time whale watching.

The sea was really beautiful.

I could only catch a few words in English, but I managed. The crew was attentive and considerate.

Since it was the end of December, the water was very cold, and even though it was the afternoon session, I started to feel cold after snorkeling for 30 minutes.

If there had been a bit more variety in the drinks and food, it would have been five stars. (Juice, potato chips, rice crackers, oranges, pineapples.)

The Hilton Hotel has a dedicated space for luaus. To get straight to the point, it’s not much different from luaus I've seen elsewhere, but the performances are unique to a family-friendly hotel. Right in front of the stage, there are mats set up for small children, along with plenty of cushions, allowing the kids to mimic the dancers and enjoy dancing along. It was very heartwarming. It was worth reserving the premium seats, as we were guided to the table right at the front. We were also able to get our food first. I was a bit hesitant before making the reservation, but I'm glad I went.

ヒルトンホテルにルアウ専用スペースが設けられてます。結論から先に行ってしまうと、他の場所で観たルアウショーとあまり違っていませんが、ファミリーが多いホテルならではの演出と、舞台すぐ目の前には小さいお子様用にマットがしかれており、多数のクッションが置いてあり、目の前で繰り広げられるダンスにお子様たちもダンサーのマネをして一緒に踊ったりして楽しんでいました。とても微笑ましかったです。プレミアムシートで予約した甲斐があり、テーブルの一番前の席に案内してもらえました。お料理も先に取りにいけました。予約前はちょっと迷っていたけれど、観に行ってよかったです。

Awesome catamaran, great staff and naturalist on board! Unbelievable whale watching from every angle. Delicious beer on tap as well!

The wild dolphins were truly adorable, and I had the best time!! I was also able to see wild whales!! They were swimming side by side and showed us their faces, which was so moving. I would recommend this tour to any friends or acquaintances going to the Big Island!! Captain Daisuke was very friendly, and his love for the dolphins really came through!! For those who are a bit worried about seasickness, I recommend taking motion sickness medication!! I usually don’t get motion sickness, but the rocking of the boat, the waves while swimming, and the tension and excitement completely got to me (laughs). If I get to go to the Big Island again, I will take motion sickness medication and join this tour again!! It was truly the best time!!

野生のイルカ達が本当に可愛くて、最高の時間を過ごせました！！そして野生のクジラも見ることができました！！二頭並んで泳いでてお顔も見せてくれて感動感動感動でした。ハワイ島へ行く友人や知人がいたらこちらのツアーをオススメしたいです！！船長のダイスケさん、すごく気さくでイルカちゃん達への愛がすごく伝わってきました！！少しでも船酔いに心配な方は酔い止めを飲むことをお勧めします！！普段あまり乗り物酔いをしないのですが船の揺れ&泳いでる時の波の揺れ&緊張と興奮で見事にやられました（笑）もしまたハワイ島に行けたら酔い止めを飲んでこちらのツアーに参加します！！本当に最高の時間でしたー！！

At first, I wasn't used to snorkeling, and when I jumped into the sea, I accidentally swallowed some seawater and almost drowned. When I saw dolphins underwater, I panicked trying to capture that moment in a photo and ended up swallowing seawater again...

After a few failures, I finally got the hang of it and was able to film the dolphins' graceful swimming. It was a lot of fun.

最初はシュノーケリングに慣れなくて、海に飛び込んだ時は少し海水を飲んで溺れそうになりました。海中にイルカが見えると、その光景を写真に収めようと慌ててしまい、また海水を飲んでしまうはめに･･･。
何度か失敗しながら、ようやく慣れてきて、イルカの華麗な泳ぎを撮影することが出来ました。楽しかったです。

The staff and the dolphins were absolutely fantastic. I highly recommend it. My children, aged 6 and 10, were well taken care of by the staff, and they were able to interact with the dolphins without any issues. The kids were able to enjoy it fully, and our whole family was extremely satisfied. Thank you very much. On the way back, we even got to see a whale, which made for a perfect time.

It had been since elementary school since I last entered the sea. Not even sure if I could swim, I bought a swimsuit and participated anyway. Before getting on the boat, I took motion sickness medication, applied sunscreen, and set sail with some anxiety.

However, the beautiful sea and sky that unfolded before me quickly blew away my worries.

Fortunately, I encountered dolphins at a reef where they only play when they're in a good mood. It was a wonderful experience. It was truly a playful interaction with the dolphins. They didn't just swim past me; I was surrounded by dozens of dolphins from all sides, even at my feet—it felt like a dream.

I dove three times. Even in the deep sea, I felt no fear when jumping in. I was surprisingly filled with excitement and anticipation.

I was also drawn to the personality of our guide, realizing that there are people who can live such wonderful lives. It made me reflect on the importance of being mindful of everything I choose to engage with. I expressed to my husband, who joined me, that I want to avoid things that harm nature or animals as much as possible. I decided to study nature more and see it up close.

Ah, if only I could swim better…! I definitely want to come back someday.

海に入るのは小学生ぶり。自分が泳げるかどうかも分からない状態で、取り敢えず水着だけ買って参加しました。
ボートに乗る前に、酔い止めを飲み、日焼け止めを塗り、不安を抱えながらも出港。
目の前に広がった美しい海と空に、不安は一気に吹き飛びました。

運良く、イルカさんがご機嫌な時しか遊ばないというリーフでイルカさんに遭遇。
素晴らしい体験をしてきました。
言葉通りイルカさんとの戯れ。群れが自分の周りを通り過ぎるなんてものではなかったです。
前後左右、足元にも数十頭のイルカさんに囲まれて、夢のようでした。
ダイブは3回。深い海でも、飛び込む際の怖さは一切なかったです。自分でもびっくりするくらいワクワクドキドキしかなかった。

ガイドさんの人間性にも惹かれ、こんなにステキな生き方ができる人もいるのだなぁと。
もっと、自分の手に取るもの一つ一つに意思を持たなくてはならないと考えさせられました。
自然を侵すものや、どうぶつへ痛みを与えるもの、なるべく避けて暮らしていきたいなと、まずは自然のことをもっと勉強してみよう、もっと間近に見に行ってみよう、と一緒に参加した主人と話をしました。

ああ、それにしてももっと、泳げたらなぁ…！
いつかまた、かならず戻ってきたいです。

Even though it's always summer in Hawaii, we found ourselves in the middle of winter, and unfortunately, it was cold and rainy. We suited up in wetsuits and headed out into the waves, which were quite rough! From a Japanese perspective, it was surprising to start the tour under such bad weather conditions.

As expected, my wife, who isn't very confident in her physical strength, quickly returned to the boat due to the cold and the waves. I was worried about her, and I ended up slipping on the deck and injuring my side. We only managed to spot two manta rays near the ocean floor, which left us a bit disappointed on our first day in Hawaii.

I had joined the tour believing the reviews that said it would be fine even without understanding English, but I think it would be safer to go with a Japanese-speaking tour, even if it costs a bit more. However, I did find that the catamaran had less rocking than expected, so I hope to try again under better conditions.

常夏のハワイ、とは言え真冬おまけに生憎の雨で寒い中、屋根ひとつないところでウェットスーツに身を包み沖へ出るとかなりのうねりが！
われわれ日本人の感覚からすれば、こんな、悪天候の時に出航するのかと思ってしまう条件の中でのスタートとなりました。
案の定寒さと、うねりにより体力に自信のない女房は早々に船上に。
心配で同行した私も、デッキで滑り転倒して脇腹を痛める始末。
肝心のマンタは海の底辺りに２尾だけ現れたのを確認できたのみで、ハワイ島初日にすこしがっかりのツアーでした。
英語がわからなくても、勢いで大丈夫っていった書き込みを信じての参加でしたが、やはり費用が割高でも日本語でのツアーの方が安全面のためにも良いのではと思います。
ただ、双胴船のため、揺れは少ない方だと思いました、好条件の時ににリベンジしたいと思います。
