Exceptional experience , Wes was a great tour guide

The crew were all very friendly and full of information about the area. The food was good and the extra slides and diving platform didn’t interfere with serious snorkeling.

Awesome tour! James, our guide, was excellent! Appreciated his knowledge and enthusiasm! Highly recommend!

This is a tour that starts at sunset. The sunset is incredibly beautiful!

We were firmly reminded not to touch the manta rays, and after receiving some additional explanations, we dove into the sea. For the first few minutes, we couldn't see anything, and I thought maybe today would be a bust, but suddenly one appeared right in front of me. They circled around multiple times, and not just once, but several times, two of them came in a line. Although we were told not to touch them, my husband ended up getting touched by a manta ray, and we were both so excited. Our Japanese guide, Tamae, was very kind and helpful.

Since we were in the water for a long time, our bodies got cold. Renting a wetsuit was a good decision, but we didn't take it off when we returned to the boat, and we ended up freezing. It would have been better to take off the suit and wrap ourselves in towels once we got out. The hot chocolate they handed out was soothing for our chilled bodies.

I thought we would have to pay for the photos the guide was taking, but to my pleasant surprise, they sent the data directly to our phones right away.

If you rent a car, the meeting location is easy to find, so you won't have any trouble. Above all, the experience made the tour price feel very reasonable. If you come to the Big Island, you should definitely try this!

サンセットから始まるツアーです。夕日はすごい綺麗です！
マンタには絶対触れない‼️事を念を押され、その他説明を受けて海へダイブ、最初の数分は見られなくて、今日はハズレなのかなぁ〜なんて思ったらいきなり目の前に現れる。何回も旋回して目の前にも現れてくれるし、一回だけじゃなく何回も来てくれて2匹が列組んで来たり絶対に触れてはいけないと言われましたが、主人の身体にマンタの方から触れて大興奮です。日本人ガイドのタマエさんがとても親切で助かりました。
海に入っている時間が長いので身体が冷えます。ウェットスーツをレンタルして良かったけど、船に戻っても脱がなかった私達は冷え切ってしまいました。上がったらスーツは脱いでタオルにくるまっていれば良かったです。冷えた身体に配られたホットチョコはしみました。
ガイドさんが撮影していたから有料で買わされるんだろうなぁ〜と思ってましたが、データを携帯にすぐに送ってくれて、嬉しい驚きでした。
レンタカー借りていれば現地集合も場所もわかりやすいので困りません。
何よりツアー代金を安価に思わせる内容だったです。是非ハワイ島に来たら体験して下さい‼️

The two female guides were very educational and enthusiastic. They checked all the riders for safely along the way. Great views. We all laughed! Pictures were taken. We recommend this ranch.

The starry sky was beautiful. The observatory and sunset were just okay.

The price is cheap, but that's about the only advantage. Since the cost is low, it's understandable, but the lunch box only had one or two pieces of sautéed bacon sandwich, and I would appreciate it if they could consider making it a bit healthier, perhaps by lowering the calories.

The tour guides from this company have a mix of responses; some are very administrative in their approach, so it can be hit or miss.

星空はきれいでした。天文台や夕焼けはそこそこでした。

値段は安いのですが、メリットとしてはそれくらいです。
料金がやすいので仕方ないのですが、ランチボックスはソテーしたベーコンのサンドイッチ1,2切れで、もう少し低カロリーにするなど健康に配慮してもらえると嬉しいです。

この会社のツアーガイドは事務的な対応の方もいて、当たり外れがあります。

We witnessed the amazing beauty of Hawaii and learned the ancient practices that are still used today. What an unbelievable experience!

Right after departure, we were covered in clouds, and I wondered how it would turn out with occasional rain, but as we gained altitude, the clouds cleared (or rather, we emerged above the clouds), and both the sunset and the starry sky were incredibly beautiful.

While there are places in Japan where you can see the starry sky and enjoy views from mountain summits, the scale here is completely different. I was moved to see the Southern Cross and the Milky Way.

The guide primarily spoke English, but they also checked in with us in Japanese to see if we were feeling okay, which was very considerate and helpful.

出発直後から雲に覆われ、時折、雨模様でどうなることかと思いましたが、標高が上がるにつれ雲が切れ（というか雲の上に出て）、サンセットも星空も大変きれいに見えました。
国内でも、星空が見えるところがあったり、山頂からの景色を楽しめるところはいくつもありますが、ここはスケールが全く違い、南十字星や天の川も見ることができて感動モノでした。
ガイドさんも英語メインでしたが、つど日本語で体調大丈夫？みたいに気を使っていただいて助かりました。

There was one other group of Japanese participants besides us.
We had a unique and amazing experience with the sunset and starry sky that you can only have here!
If you come to the Big Island, this is definitely a must-do.
The guide was Japanese and kindly assisted us in Japanese.

I and my wife enjoyed SUP very much even though we struggled to stand up on the paddle. The instructor Kei and his assistant Mai were extremely helpful for this activity. One thing I’d like to fix in this activity is the initial meeting time was 8:45, but the actual time was 9:15, which made us upset. I think VETRA needs to fix this mismatch.

The show was fun. I didn't understand it well because the explanation was only in English. The food was delicious.

This trip was with three senior friends to the Big Island of Hawaii. We were looking forward to this tour, the main event of our last day. The sunset from the summit of Mauna Kea was wonderful, but the starry sky afterwards felt like being inside a dome, allowing us to truly feel the universe. I'm really glad I participated. It became the best memory. Thank you to our guide for working hard to communicate in Japanese.

今回はシニアの友人3人でのハワイ島への旅行でした。最後の日のメインイベントのこのツアーを楽しみにしていました。マウナケア山頂からのサンセットも素晴らしかったけど、その後の満点の星空はまるでドームの中にいるような感覚で宇宙を感じることが出来ました。
本当に参加して良かったです。最高の思い出になりました。ガイドさんも、頑張って日本語で一生懸命に対応してくださり、ありがとうございました。

I participated in a sunset and stargazing tour at the summit of Mauna Kea on the Big Island. It was a small group tour with about 10 people, which made for a relaxed experience.

The sandwich we had along the way was delicious and satisfying. The sunset from the summit was truly beautiful, and I was moved by the view spreading over the sea of clouds. The starry sky after sunset was also amazing, shining brightly in a way that only a high place without city lights can offer.

What made me happy was that we were the only Japanese participants, but our guide was Japanese. In between explanations to the other groups, he provided detailed information about constellations and celestial bodies in Japanese.

For those considering going to Mauna Kea individually, I recommend joining a tour. You can enjoy the breathtaking views without worrying about driving on mountain roads or managing your health at high altitudes. If you want to see the sunset or love stargazing, definitely consider participating!

ハワイ島でマウナケア山頂のサンセットと星空観測ツアーに参加しました。4グループ10名ほどの少人数ツアーだったので、ゆったり過ごせて良かったです。

途中で食べたサンドウィッチが美味しくて満足。山頂からの夕陽は本当に綺麗で、雲海の上に広がる景色に感動しました。日が落ちた後の星空も、街明かりのない高い場所ならではの輝きで最高でした。

嬉しかったのは、日本人の参加者は私たちだけでしたが、ガイドさんが日本人だったこと。他のグループへの説明の合間に、日本語で星座や天体について詳しく教えてくれました。

個人でマウナケアに行くか迷っている方は、ツアー参加をおすすめします。山道の運転や高地での体調管理など、ツアーなら安心して絶景を楽しめますよ。夕日を見たい方・星空好きの方はぜひ参加してみてください！​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

The manta ray came right up close, almost within reach. But I held back; I mustn't touch it. It was a dream-like hour.

While gently swaying on the horse, I occasionally stretched my legs. Along the way, I passed through herds of goats and cows, fully enjoying the great outdoors. On that day, it rained quite a bit, which I regret a little.

大自然を満喫しました。
当日、けっこうな雨で、それだけが少し悔やまれます。

Shawn is super polite and well educated in many topics regarding the lava, plant life, history and sites on the islands. He was particularly helpful in suggesting to us to change the itinerary so we could see the active eruption and we are so happy he made the suggestion. 100% well worth the private tour. We changed things up and kinda called audibles throughout the day and Shawn was all about it. We had a great dinner and the day was a total success. Thank you.

Planned this trip for over a year to go to Hawaii and all my boy would talk about was swimming with the dolphins. So for his 9th birthday I gave him the best birthday gift ever is what he told me with the biggest hug I’ve ever gotten from him.

It was a wonderful tour.
My spouse and I participated in the tour. Since we were at an altitude of about 4200 meters, we were worried about the thin air and cold, but our guide was always attentive to our condition. We enjoyed the most beautiful sunset in the world and the starry night sky, which sparkled differently from the plains.
We received a lot of explanations about various constellations and information about the Big Island, making it a highly satisfying tour.

とても素晴らしいツアーでした。
夫婦でツアーに参加しました。標高約4200mの山頂ですので空気の薄さと寒さが心配でしたが、ガイドの方から常に体調を気遣っていただき、この世で一番ビューティフルなサンセットと平地での輝きと全然違う夜空に輝く満点の星を満喫しました。
色々な星座の解説やハワイ島の事もたくさん説明していただけて、非常に満足度の高いツアーでした。

We participated as a couple in mid-February. The schedule was manageable, and the guide's hospitality was wonderful. It was so cold at the summit that there was still snow, but they provided warm clothing for free, allowing us to have a comfortable time. Unfortunately, the weather and timing were disappointing. The clouds were thick all day, and we couldn't see the sunset on the horizon. Additionally, since it was a full moon period, it turned out to be more about moon viewing than stargazing, which was unexpected due to a lack of prior research.

2月中旬に夫婦で参加しました。
日程に無理がなく、ガイドさんのホスピタリティが素晴らしく、山頂は雪が残るほど寒かったのですが防寒着も無料で貸してくださり、快適な時間を過ごすことができました。
残念だったのは、天候と時期。この日はずっと雲が立ち込めていて、地平線に夕陽が沈む姿は拝めませんでした。
また、満月の時期だったため、天体観測というより月見になったことも、事前調査不足による想定外でした。

Incredible day with an excellent crew for a fabulous day of boating on the Big Island of Hawaii! The crew was fantastic and so informative!

Absolutely amazing. You can feel the spirit and history of the land. Like no other place.

We had a great driver/tour guide in Omar. He shared his love for the valley where he was born and raised with such joy and we felt like we got an insider’s view. The personal anecdotes about his family, and tales of fishing, hunting, canoeing, surfing, etc., really made the tour come alive for us. The overlook provides a stunning view but going into the valley provided a rich context for life of the Hawaiian people who have lived off the land and sea for generations. The valley is such a special place, a piece of history and way of life beautifully preserved; I feel blessed and privileged to have had this experience. And we even met one of the wild horses.

This tour was mind blowing especially because of tour guide Felix! He showed us all the best spots and gave so much interesting history and facts without making you want to fall asleep LOL. First time in Hawaii and I’m so grateful to have been on this excursion! Amazing food, views and so much more. Thank you wasabi tours and even bigger thank you to Felix!! ❤️❤️

The tour guide James was friendly and very kind, always attentive to our health during the hike. He also provided fascinating explanations about constellations and the Mauna Kea telescope. Since it was an English tour, it was great to bond with participants from various regions of the United States throughout the tour.

ツアーガイドのJamesはフレンドリーで、山登り中に体調にも常に気をかけてくれてとても親切でした。また、星座やマウナケアの望遠鏡についても非常に詳しく説明してもらえ面白かったです。英語ツアーということもあり、アメリカの色々な地域から来た参加者同士ともツアーを通してとても仲良くなれて良かったです。

A precious activity where you can experience the Earth itself through your senses, with vast lands, sea of clouds, giant telescopes observing distant stars, and constellations not seen in Japan... In the pre-explanation received via email, it was mentioned that there would be no Japanese guide, but on the day of the experience, perhaps due to good luck, we were the only Japanese participants and received individual guidance in Japanese. The jackets and pants provided by the activity were quite thick, and I felt sufficiently warm even in an environment around 0°C. The sandwiches and hot cocoa we were given were delicious and soothing for a slight headache.

広大な大地や雲海、遠くの星を観測する巨大な望遠鏡や日本では見られない星座...と、日常では味わえない地球そのものを五感で体感できる貴重なアクティビティ。
メールで届いていた事前説明では日本語のガイドはしていないとのことだったが、体験した日は運が良かっのか、私たちしか日本人がいなかったにも関わらず、個別に日本語でガイドしていただけた。
アクティビティ側で用意されているジャケットとパンツはかなり厚手のもので、0℃前後の環境でも十分に暖かく感じた。いただいたサンドイッチやホットココアも、軽めの頭痛を癒やす美味しさだった。

We learned so much about island and Hawaiian culture, especially from the knowledgeable luau host.The meats were perfect, with a unique and delicious combination of side dishes. The show was the icing on the cake!!! We will definitely be back.

It was a more interesting experience than I expected. Since I can't go myself, please be sure to participate. You won't regret joining. It's a waste not to come to the Big Island and climb Mauna Kea.

予想以上に面白い体験でした。自分では行けないので、是非参加してください。参加して損はありません。ハワイ島に来て、マウナケアに登らないのはもったいないです。

I experienced it on May 7, 2025.
1. I was very satisfied with the location, the pilot, and the staff. I highly recommend it. 100 points.

2. Since my seat was on the left side, all the highlights were on the right side of the journey. The aircraft blocked my view, and I couldn't take the photos I wanted, which was disappointing. I requested the pilot to make a turn, but it was only accommodated once. Minus 40 points.

1、体感は、ロケーション、パイロット、スタッフのみなさんには大満足でした。
おすすめです。100点

2、席が左サイドだった為、見所は全行程右サイドで、隣りの人越し、機体が邪魔になり、せっかくのロケーションが写真も思うように撮れず、心が折れましたよ
パイロットに旋回をリクエストしたがその1回切りの対応でした。
マイナス40点。

The sunset visible from the summit was breathtaking and truly memorable. As for the starry sky, while it was beautiful, we may have had slightly higher expectations. The guide primarily spoke in English but occasionally mixed in some Japanese, making an effort to entertain all participants.

山頂から見える夕陽は絶景で、非常に記憶に残るものとなりました。
ただ星空に関しては、もちろん綺麗ではあったのですが、少しこちら側が期待しすぎてしまった感はありました。
ガイドは英語メインでしたが、時折日本語も混ぜてくれて、参加者全員を楽しませようとしてくれました。

I was able to fully enjoy the scenery while riding a horse along Kohala Coast. Although it's in English, they teach you how to ride carefully, so beginners and young children can also have fun. I would like to use this service again when I come back next time.

コハラコーストを馬に乗りながら、存分に景色を楽しめました。
英語ではありますが、丁寧に乗り方を教えてくれるので、初心者や幼い子供たちも楽しめます。
また次に来たときも利用したいです。
