I've always wanted to visit the summit of Mauna Kea. I felt reassured with a wonderful guide who spoke Japanese. However, there were many participants, and the van was quite cramped. The sandwich we had at the summit was extremely delicious. Since it's over 4,000 meters high, the oxygen was thin, and I felt a bit lightheaded.

The guide was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable. It was a fulfilling day. It was really good. However, all the participants were Americans, and perhaps because they all had knowledge about Hawaii, the topics discussed were quite difficult. Things like how to buy land and rumors about Captain Cook. If you have prior knowledge and are fluent in English, it would be very enjoyable, but if your level is just average, you might feel a bit left out.

I received a message the day before that the event might be canceled, and I was waiting for a notification on the day itself, but there was none. Somehow, I managed to get to the location with the rental car, but it was a bit hard to find.

With all that, I was feeling dissatisfied and anxious until it started, but once the horseback riding began, it was incredibly fun! The horses are just so smart. Since the altitude is high, it rained on some parts of the course, and there were muddy spots, but they walked very well.

The rain-soaked grasslands looked beautiful. In the midst of all this, a family of wild pigs, about ten of them, crossed the path like a scene from a movie. The two and a half hours flew by. It was truly a wonderful experience. I really want to go again!

そんなこんなで始まるまでは不満と不安でしたが、実際に乗馬が始まると、めちゃくちゃ楽しい！
お馬さんがとにかく、賢いです。標高が高いので雨がコースによっては降ったので、泥濘みもありましたが、すごく上手に歩いてくれます。
雨に濡れた草原がキレイに映ります。
そんな中を映画の一コマみたいに野生の豚の親子が10匹程で横断します。2時間半があっという間にです。本当に素晴らしい体験でした。。
すごくまた、行きたいです。

While it’s less affected by clouds, the surrounding lights seemed to interfere, and I didn't feel that much awe. Considering the cost-performance, I think a mid-mountain tour might be sufficient. However, this is a tour you can't miss if you want to experience 4,000 meters.

Despite my worries before going, it was the best experience, and I was very satisfied with the views. The sunset over the sea of clouds at an altitude of over 4000 meters brought me to tears. After the sun set, I forgot the cold while marveling at the starry sky, which was truly breathtaking. The guide primarily spoke English, but they did their best to communicate in my limited Japanese and took great care in preventing altitude sickness, which made me very happy as well.

標高4000ｍ超の空間と目の前に広がる雲海に沈む夕日は涙が出る思いでした。

We enjoyed our day. The staff were organized and very friendly. They ensured everyone was safe and comfortable. The grounds were beautiful and we enjoyed being able to explore the property and look at the waterfalls. We had a nice time sitting by the waterfall and having time to enjoy going in the water. We were a bit disappointed by the ride itself as were are more seasoned and experienced riders. The pace was very geared to beginners and some guests had no clue what they were doing and that slowed the activity. We also hoped to have a ride close by ocean and that isn’t part of this activity, not their fault. I should have looked into that more. We basically road around through trails in a field. One last bit of advice, they should chill the drink they serve better. We appreciated though being provided a drink and snack part way through.

The stars and sunset were amazing! I've never seen such a beautiful starry sky! As expected, it was a precious experience that can only be had on the Big Island of Hawaii! The sandwiches and hot chocolate were delicious. However, the cold was intense (^｡^) They took photos with a DSLR during the sunset, but it was very disappointing that none of them were downloaded.
