I and my wife enjoyed SUP very much even though we struggled to stand up on the paddle. The instructor Kei and his assistant Mai were extremely helpful for this activity. One thing I’d like to fix in this activity is the initial meeting time was 8:45, but the actual time was 9:15, which made us upset. I think VETRA needs to fix this mismatch.

This trip was with three senior friends to the Big Island of Hawaii. We were looking forward to this tour, the main event of our last day. The sunset from the summit of Mauna Kea was wonderful, but the starry sky afterwards felt like being inside a dome, allowing us to truly feel the universe. I'm really glad I participated. It became the best memory. Thank you to our guide for working hard to communicate in Japanese.

I participated in a sunset and stargazing tour at the summit of Mauna Kea on the Big Island. It was a small group tour with about 10 people, which made for a relaxed experience.

The sandwich we had along the way was delicious and satisfying. The sunset from the summit was truly beautiful, and I was moved by the view spreading over the sea of clouds. The starry sky after sunset was also amazing, shining brightly in a way that only a high place without city lights can offer.

What made me happy was that we were the only Japanese participants, but our guide was Japanese. In between explanations to the other groups, he provided detailed information about constellations and celestial bodies in Japanese.

For those considering going to Mauna Kea individually, I recommend joining a tour. You can enjoy the breathtaking views without worrying about driving on mountain roads or managing your health at high altitudes. If you want to see the sunset or love stargazing, definitely consider participating!

Shawn is super polite and well educated in many topics regarding the lava, plant life, history and sites on the islands. He was particularly helpful in suggesting to us to change the itinerary so we could see the active eruption and we are so happy he made the suggestion. 100% well worth the private tour. We changed things up and kinda called audibles throughout the day and Shawn was all about it. We had a great dinner and the day was a total success. Thank you.

It was a wonderful tour.
My spouse and I participated in the tour. Since we were at an altitude of about 4200 meters, we were worried about the thin air and cold, but our guide was always attentive to our condition. We enjoyed the most beautiful sunset in the world and the starry night sky, which sparkled differently from the plains.

It was so cold at the summit that there was still snow, but they provided warm clothing for free, allowing us to have a comfortable time. Unfortunately, the weather and timing were disappointing. The clouds were thick all day, and we couldn't see the sunset on the horizon. Additionally, since it was a full moon period, it turned out to be more about moon viewing than stargazing, which was unexpected due to a lack of prior research.

We had a great driver/tour guide in Omar. He shared his love for the valley where he was born and raised with such joy and we felt like we got an insider’s view. The personal anecdotes about his family, and tales of fishing, hunting, canoeing, surfing, etc., really made the tour come alive for us. The overlook provides a stunning view but going into the valley provided a rich context for life of the Hawaiian people who have lived off the land and sea for generations. The valley is such a special place, a piece of history and way of life beautifully preserved; I feel blessed and privileged to have had this experience. And we even met one of the wild horses.

I was able to fully enjoy the scenery while riding a horse along Kohala Coast. Although it's in English, they teach you how to ride carefully, so beginners and young children can also have fun. I would like to use this service again when I come back next time.

If you like adventure in an area you have not explored before, this is for you. We had a side-by-side thrilling ride to an amazing waterfall. The view is breathtaking and the water so refreshing. Water was great to cool off and clean up a bit. Amanda, Alysha, and Saire were excellent guides. They were very helpful and extremely personable. We highly recommend this Big Island adventure.

The mountains were closed until the day before, and it was cloudy the day before that, so I was worried, but those worries were unnecessary as we had clear skies.

It turned out to be the best sunset and stargazing experience.

Especially during the stargazing, I was able to capture photos of the Southern Cross and the lights of Kilauea Volcano.

It was truly an amazing experience! Next, I will challenge myself with sunrise! I will definitely come back!

The Southern Cross was very beautifully visible. I was surprised to hear that observatories from various countries have different structures and operate remotely. The explanation using the green laser was easy to understand, and I was amazed at how straight the laser traveled far into the distance.
