The content of the luau show was all in English, and there were parts I understood and parts I didn't, but the atmosphere was fantastic and I had a great time.
The ratio of Japanese people was low. We sat at a long table, and the food was served buffet-style. The staff seemed to be considerate and seated us next to a Japanese couple. They mentioned that they had been to Hawaii many times, and thanks to them, we received helpful tips about convenient places near our accommodation.
Before entering the venue, they took our pictures, and during the meal, they asked, "How about purchasing?"
Regarding the photos, I had been searching for them for a while and felt that the reviews weren't very good, but when I saw the actual photos, they were beautifully taken, so I decided to purchase one as a keepsake.
The other guests, upon realizing we were on our honeymoon, were very friendly, and we were able to chat a little in English, which was enjoyable.
The dancing was powerful and interesting, and the food was delicious!
I think if you have language skills, you could enjoy it even more!

The staff was a bit cranky at check in but once things got rolling, I think they woke up and all was good. I enjoyed the snorkle site but the sea cave exploration is little more than "here is the cave, it's not really deep, next please"......overall I had a good time but felt I paid too much for what I got. If you have never been kayaking in Hawaii and want to, then I would have no problem recommending this outfit. I just think you may get more value from a less green more motorized adventure.

This was an amazing experience to witness. You are probably five minutes off the shore by the sheraton resort and are left to swim with huge manta rays that swim right up next to you. It is a little scary at first but after the first few minutes you get used to it. The staff on the boat are very friendly and pretty humorous. You definitly get your moneys worth on this activity because you are in the water for about 45 minutes and they dont let you get in until a manta ray shows up so your time with the manta rays isnt wasted. The only bad things I have to say about this activity which was kind of a personal problem was that I got stung in the butt my something. It hurt pretty bad but the stinging went away in about a hour. I dont think anyone else had this problem though so I wouldnt be too worried about it. I would definitly sign up for this activity is I was you!

We all had a wonderful time and will definitely do the same thing the next time we are on the Big Island of Hawaii. Polynesian Adventure Tours has very knowledgeable staff members. They share information freely during the tour, which is a great asset in learning more about Hawai'ian history and the volcanoes specifically.
The only problem my wife and I had was how much talking went on. While the information was welcome at times, it seemed the talking never stopped. For some this may be perfect, but it was a little overwhelming/annoying for us.

I attended a Christmas luau with my elementary school child. In the morning at the hotel, I tried to reserve a Hanohano seat (which costs $8 for adults), but it was sold out. However, I was told that if we lined up on the left side of the coastal path, between around 4:20 and 4:30 PM (the gathering time was at 4:45), we could get good seats. This way, we ended up right behind the Hanohano seats in front of the stage. Upon entry, we received a shell lei for free. Mai Tais and beers were unlimited. After enjoying making fish out of tattoos and palm leaves, we watched the Kalua pig being brought out and the king entering from the sea, followed by our meal time (which included Hawaiian foods like poi and haupia, and we were full). The show featured dances from Hawaii, New Zealand, Tahiti, and a fire dance from Samoa (which the kids loved!).
It was interactive, with hula dancing, shouting greetings from each country loudly, and even doing lomi lomi massages with the person next to you, which was a lot of fun. There were few Japanese people, and the family next to us was from Portland, but we got along well. Let's enjoy together with the foreigners!

It was my first time on the Big Island of Hawaii. I absolutely wanted to experience a luau! I thought it might be a bit different from Oahu, so I joined this tour. It was more packed than I expected, and I wanted to experience various things, so the time flew by.
First, he bought me a fresh lei for a commemorative photo! (Even if you don't buy one, everyone receives a shell lei.) When we were shown to our seats, the men immediately got up to grab drinks from the drink bar. In the meantime, I greeted the people at the same table. Then we headed to the plaza where various events were happening. First, I got a tattoo-style painting on my arm. I requested my favorite honu (sea turtle)! I also joined a hula lesson that had already started nearby. They quickly taught us the choreography for one song. I learned how to crack a coconut and did some weaving with lauhala (though I wasn't participating, so I don't know what was being made). Then they showed us the kalua pig, which is the main dish for dinner (a whole pig cooked underground).
There was never a dull moment! As the sun began to set, a canoe carrying Kamehameha arrived from the shore. This marked the beginning of the show. When I returned to my seat to get food, various dances from different countries were performed on stage.
I was able to chat with a newlywed couple from California at my table, and it was a very enjoyable evening.

On the first day of my arrival, I went to the show. I felt like it started before I really understood what was happening, probably because I'm not used to English, but I was quite moved by the appearance of the king. I was able to experience a ceremonial hula that you can't find in other dinner shows. Everyone there was very friendly, but since I couldn't speak English, I could only manage polite smiles. It seems that having better English skills is necessary to enjoy it more. As for the food... well, it was just average. I was happy to drink a lot of Kona coffee, though.

On the first day of my arrival on the Big Island, I participated in this tour. After renting a car at Kona Airport, I headed straight to the meeting point, arriving at 1 PM to prepare and board the boat at 2 PM. It was raining, but we were still able to snorkel. An hour after boarding, we reached a fairly deep spot near the Captain Cook monument. Due to the bad weather, not much was captured on the underwater camera, but I was able to see fish with my own eyes. As for the snacks, we were served pineapple, oranges, potato chips, and drinks. I wasn't sure if there was a paid drink menu, but I was able to order something casually and they brought it to me. In this tour, we were the only Japanese participants. There were no staff members who spoke Japanese. It felt like being in a foreign party, as the foreigners on board were happily chatting away.

When you go to Hawaii, you definitely have to enjoy a dance show! However, it can feel a bit lonely if you don't understand English. The host will show you where to sit. After that, it would be a waste to just sit there not knowing what to do! You can go get a free drink and enjoy it, or before the show, you can learn how to open coconuts, get a tattoo, make angel fish from palm leaves, and learn hula dancing at two different stations. Even if you don't understand English, it's better to get up and explore rather than just sitting around.
The buffet-style meal is also guided to your table, so you just have to wait! The food is delicious, and it seems like it was tailored to suit Japanese tastes! It's really tasty! The dancing is fun, and the scent of the ocean and the sound of the waves are refreshing, which made me feel great.
However, it was a bit disappointing that it rained in Kona, which is quite rare!

I went to Hawaii Island for the first time and participated in snorkeling at Kealakekua Bay. The guidebooks say it's better in the morning, but I joined the afternoon tour and had plenty of fun. The crew is all foreign, so there might be some language barriers, but they are experienced, so there's no need to worry. The atmosphere was great, and I really enjoyed it. The sea was calm, and if you're lucky, you might catch some fish along the way, and there’s a chance of encountering dolphins while snorkeling. Unfortunately, I didn't see any when I went. The boat was comfortable as well. It's a large catamaran, so I didn't see anyone getting seasick.

I previously rode in a semi-submersible at the Great Barrier Reef, and I have memories of it being tough due to the long boat ride. In contrast, this tour departs from the pier on a small boat and reaches the diving point in about 10 minutes. Once you transfer to the submarine and dive, there’s no more rocking. It’s suitable even for those who are sensitive to motion sickness. This time, my grandparents and children, who couldn’t snorkel, were able to explore the seabed while chatting, and everyone was happy. Along the way, we encountered a sunken ship and schools of fish, and it felt amazing to discover such a paradise so close to land in Hawaii. Additionally, since the participation time is about 120 minutes, we were able to enjoy ourselves before and after, which was great.
