Maui
The staff made us feel so welcome. I was nervous about riding. Butch was our guide and he really went out of his way to make sure I was comfortable throughout the entire ride. He took a lot of pics for us and had a wonderful sense of humor. I will go back again for sure!
This activity allows people to see what you would see snorkeling from the comfort of the boat.
The meeting place was a bit hard to find, but once we did, it was worth it. It took a while to spot a whale, but once we found one, we were able to stay close to it for about 10 to 20 minutes. As we got more comfortable, the whale even approached the boat, allowing us to see it up close.
On Molokini Island, I was able to see beautiful fish, and the water clarity was high. At another spot, I felt lucky to see turtles up close. Additionally, I was able to see whales jumping several times on the way back, which was great.
We really enjoyed our trip and tour of Oahu from the meeting at the airport until our drop off at the airport. Our driver was Leo C. and he did a great job. He made sure we knew exactly where we were going and he was very informative. About the only suggestion I would make is to try to, somehow, give a little more time at each sight at Pearl Harbor. Always seemed a little rushed. Maybe have a earlier flight to Oahu.
walking in the rain forest and visit four waterfalls and swimming in the poll. We also enjoyed the cannonball jumps from safe rock ledges and this is one of my favorite. I love this tour so much!!! Our guide is Jeremy and he is really good!!!
They picked me up on time, my flights were set, they took care of me all day in Pearl Harbor, the USS Missouri and the tour of Honolulu. Our guide Ben was great, bus was clean and tidy. Great day thank you very much!
great place a Must see pearl harbor
Flew with Blue Hawaiian Helicopters on our first ever trip to Maui. Overall experience was great, from their office personnel and ground crew to the pilot. What made it particularly well worth it was our pilot – Glenda, she was awesome! The moment we got on board she was so calm and in control. She provided a lot of information and answered our questions in a soothing, calm voice as she maneuvered about the sky and terrain so effortlessly. We flew over dense jungle that she said was inaccessible by foot and viewed waterfalls falling into pristine pools. Would be curious to try it again after a rain shower, as we were told each and every gully turns into a waterfall!
This was one of my and my husbands favorite things we did our first time out to Hawaii. We were thrilled we were in whale infested waters and it was super cool to have the whales literally swimming under us, as we saw and heard them. It was awesome one whale swam right under our guide (Griff) who got amazing photos of the whole experience!
Would definitely do this again during whale season! Snorkeling to see the green sea turtles was amazing too. And all by getting a little exercise, rowing. Nice!
Thanks Griff and South Pacific Kayak!
I didn't expect to see so many whales. I was worried about seasickness, so I opted for a whale watching tour on a relatively large boat. I imagined that on a big boat tour, I would see the whales from a distance, so I was amazed to see them up close! I was filled with surprise and emotion. Although the announcements were in English, there was a Japanese staff member who was very considerate and attentive. I highly recommend this tour.
Me and my wife are here for our first time and loved seeing the whales so close and the friendly staff that helped point things out before they happened.
This was spectactular! We watched the sun come up over the clouds at 10,000+ feet. Before the sunrise the stars were so wonderful. We could see so many. The sunrise itself was breathtaking. This is an experience well worth the early wake up call. Bob is a very knowledgable and entertaining tour guide. I reconmmend you ask for him too!! This is an experience we will never forget. One that all visitors to Maui should do!
On a clear day, I departed from Lahaina Harbor and participated in a whale watching tour. Due to regulations, we couldn't get within 100 feet of the whales, so we didn't encounter any big dives like you see in photos, but we were able to see quite a few. While you can see the whales from land as well, I think this tour is very reasonably priced for what you get:
- Guided by a Japanese-speaking guide
- Includes drinks and snacks
- Over 2-hour cruise
This excursion was worth the money spent. My new husband had never snorkeled before so it was nice to have an experienced guide teach us how to do it. The Kayaking portion was nice and good exercise while we got to go out further than we would have without the kayaks. The guide, Steve, knew tremendous amounts about the area, ocean, animal life and more. He was helpful and funny throughout the entire experience. It was great to see turtles in and out of the water, an octopus, urchins, as well as schools of fish. Small group, us and a family, which the made the experience that much more intimate and special.
Kayaking is a great way to observe different snorkeling sites. Lots of friendly sea turtles and was able to hear the songs of the humpback whales. Would have liked to see more varieties of fish. For a kayaker used to a 1-person boat, the 2-person kayak was more limiting. Our guide provided a lot of information about the sea life in the area. It was very informational. Overall a good day.
We saw so many turtles! We had a little trouble with Snuba because of some ear pain, but our dive instructor was great at working with us. They even stopped on the way back for some whale watching and we saw a whole pod! Definitely recommended for a great adventure
Been to 4 luaus in 3 visits to the islands and this is by far the best one.
Very nice, small group with a well informed guide.
We arrived at the Hyatt location promptly and had to stand outside in lines instead of being seated and served a cocktail as we expected. It was like being in line at a Disney Park. We expected more from such a small venue at such a large price. The performers were excellent. Staff sucked.
This was the first thing my husband and I did on our first trip to Maui--we did it the first full day we were there, and that turned out to be best because we were sort of awake to catch our 2:15 am tour bus (we are from the east coast, and were very early risers the whole trip)
Our guide was very knowledgable about the volcano and surrounding area, and took us on a very nice tour. he even slowed and pointed out a pair of nene for us. On the downside, there were some spots we would have liked to spend more time, but this can't be helped with an organized tour. On our next trip, we'd likely do this on our own, but its smart to take the tour your first time.
The Waterfall hike was a lot of fun... there were opportunites to swim in the waterfall pools and to get awesome pictures under the waterfalls. words of advice... bug spray bug spray bug spray! we applied 3 different times and still got eaten up! but other than that it was a lot of fun.
We are a family of four, children ages 12 and 16. All of us enjoyed this tour. Ed was our tour guide. We have been on many guided tours before, Ed was by far the best guide we ever had. We were really impressed with his knowledge of Honolulu and the amount of information that he shared with us. The sights through the city, and Waikiki were so breathtaking that we are actually ready to plan our 2nd trip to Hawaii. We also enjoyed how Ed really personalized this tour by sharing his own memories and experiences growing up on the island. This is a long day, yet our guide's enthusiasm, and obvious love for Hawaii remained constant from start to finish. He was very charming, funny, and yet very professional. Not one time did he hint at getting a tip, this has never happened to us before! We have nothing negative to say about this tour, nothing. MUST SEE TOUR, REALLY!
I enjoyed the sail to Molokini on the Four Winds. It was a one-hour sail to the crater, however in that short timespan, I started feeling the effects of the water motion. This was partly due to the fact that we had spent 25 minutes listening to the snuba instructor's instructional briefing, which kept us focused on him, inside the boat. By not keeping our eyes on the horizon during that time, we started feeling queazy earlier than expected.
The snuba itself was fun, although I had difficulty sinking down to the bottom despite the weights. I guess my technique needs improvement. The water was beautiful and warm, and the fish were fun to see.
Both breakfast and lunch were provided on the catamaran. Breakfast was served at 7:30 am, when the boat departed the harbour, and lunch was served at 10:00 am upon arrival at Molikini. It was a little odd to have hamburgers and hot dogs served at that time, and we weren't really hungry due to the queasiness, so we didn't eat. Luckily, I had br
A great trip overall. Organized and on time.
Polynesian Adventure Tours was fabulous - great, knowledgable guides and they pick you up super early so that you get there before the big crowd for a front row seat (it gets surprisingly busy).
BRING WINTER CLOTHES (if you think to book it before traveling) otherwise buy sweaters or a jacket or blankets or all of the above...the 3x suggestion of warm clothing on your "to bring" list is not kidding - i wore 4 sweaters and was just comfortable - pants, scarves, gloves a must!!!
Stunning views, definitely a must see
It was great to see the elegantly swimming sea turtles up close, which were actually quite larger than I imagined. It felt like I was swimming alongside them while snorkeling.
I also challenged myself with snuba, and although I struggled a bit, it was wonderful to experience the fish and underwater scenery that you can't see with just snorkeling.
My wife seemed to struggle with seasickness, but TAKAKO was very kind and supportive, which was a big help. Having Japanese staff really brings a sense of安心.
I would love to participate again if the opportunity arises.
We booked this dinner cruise as a way to begin our Maui vacation after spending the day at grandparents memorial celebrating their lives & love of the island. There was a very unfortunate mix up with table seating that was a little awkward when we were asked to change tables in the middle of dinner. Server was to busy or distracted while serving desert & failed to serve some of the guests, leaving the desert tray on an empty table. Guests wondered if they should serve themselves.
Music was superb with a terrific variety of appropriate dinner & dance music. For us the music made the night !!
We would definitely suggest "a" sunset dinner cruise but would not feel comfortable mentioning the name of this one.
This was a great tour. We were able to see a lot of the island. The first part, up to Hana, was beautiful! Our tour guide pointed out places that were historically important, and various Hawaiian plants. He also told us which plants were native to Maui and which were brought over in canoes from other Pacific islands as well as what the plants were used for. Very informative! I would not recommend driving to Hana yourself; the road is narrow - one lane in a lot of places, with hairpin corners, and mostly on the side of the cliff. The drive around the back side of the volcano was not so fabulous. It was a very dry climate there so not as lush and beautiful. We pretty much just drove through that area. Made the tour seem kind of long.
We went on the 5 hour hike and had a blast! This was by far our favorite activity on Maui. The rainforest was beautiful! We saw 4 waterfalls, 3 with pools that we were able to swim in. Our guide, Helga, was very friendly and informative. She explained about the many varieties of plants and fruits on the hike as well as sharing other information about the island. We were able to pick and sample guavas fresh from the tree! This was an easy hike through some of the most beautiful scenery on Maui. I would highly recommend this activity!
