The guide was very kind and attentive. They provided chairs and had a telescope, allowing us to enjoy a wonderful night under a sky full of stars! If we had a bit more time, we could have enjoyed the restroom breaks and the supermarket more! The only reason I didn't rate it as the best was that it was just too cold that day. The next day, I heard the mountains were closed due to snow. In Maui, you can swim at the beach and see snow on the mountains.
ガイドの方が、とても親切で至れり尽くせりでした。椅子も用意していただき、天体観測スコープも有り沢山の星が広がって素敵な夜でした！
途中のトイレ休憩やスーパーももう少し時間があれば楽しめました！最高でしたにしなかったのは余りにもその日が寒すぎたからです。
翌日は雪で山がクローズされたとか。
マウイではビーチで泳ぎ、山には雪が見られます。

I had several concerns about participating in the overseas tour, and this time was no different.
Will the pickup be on time? ← They arrived right on time.
Will the guide speak Japanese? ← The guide was a true Japanese person, haha.
Will I be able to use the restroom? ← There were breaks, and the restroom was relatively close.
Will I be warm enough with the cold-weather gear I brought? ← There were warm clothes and blankets available.
Will I suffer from oxygen deprivation? ← It was fine as we ascended while acclimatizing.
Regarding this tour, there were absolutely no issues.
Our guide, Mr. Yamauchi, was great at conversation and very knowledgeable. He answered questions outside of the tour accurately as well. It rained during the day, but it was clear above the clouds. During the stargazing, the wind was minimal, and we could see a perfect starry sky. We even saw shooting stars! The sushi we had for dinner was delicious, and the warm tea helped to warm us up.
I took various photos, but I believe seeing it with my own eyes is the best part of the tour. If you plan to go, make sure to book early as it fills up quickly.
Lastly, thank you for everything, Mr. Yamauchi! I look forward to seeing you again when I visit Maui! (*^^*) Date of participation: January 2019.

お迎えはちゃんと来るのか？←時間通りに来てくれました
ガイドは日本語が話せるのか？←生粋の日本人でした笑
トイレは行けるか？←休憩もあるしトイレは比較的近くにありました
持ってきた防寒具で寒くないか？←防寒着も毛布もありました
酸素不足にならないか？←体を慣らしながら上がるので大丈夫でした
このツアーに関して言うと全く問題ありませんでした。
ガイドの山内さんは会話上手で知識豊富。ツアー以外の質問にも的確に答えてくださいます。この日は途中で雨に降られましたが雲の上は晴れていました。星空観測では風の影響も少なく満点の星空を見る事ができました。流れ星も見えましたよ！夕飯に食べたお寿司は美味しく温かいお茶で身体も温まります。
写真は色々撮りましたがやっぱり自分の目で見る事が一番のツアーだと思います。行こうと思ったら早めに予約をしないとすぐ満員になってしまいます。
最後になりますが山内さん色々ありがとうございました！

I participated with my wife. It was a tour that we joined with high hopes for the magnificent panorama of Maui and the starry sky, but unfortunately, it rained heavily. We had a faint hope that the weather might change at the summit, but the rain continued, and we decided to head back. However, thanks to the warm hospitality of our guide, we were invited to a popular local Italian restaurant, and the authentic wood-fired pizza was truly delicious.
Additionally, the guide's stories were very enjoyable and educational, which captivated us. Although we didn't get to see the starry sky as we had hoped, this tour, which could have been just a disappointing memory, turned into a very memorable and enjoyable experience thanks to the guide's entertaining stories and kindness. I would like to join the starry sky tour again next time for a chance at redemption. Thank you very much for the wonderful memories.
私は家内と二人で参加しました。
マウイの壮大なパノラマと満点の星空に期待を膨らませて参加したツアーでしたが、残念なら土砂降りの雨、山頂に行けば天気も変わるのではとの淡い期待も虚しく変わらずの雨、諦めて帰路に着きましたが、ガイドさんの暖かなお心遣いにより地元で人気のイタリアンレストランに招待して頂きました、直火窯焼きの本格的ピザは本当に美味しかったです。
また、ガイドさんのお話しがとても楽しくまた勉強にもなる内容でしたのでついつい惹きつけられてしまいました、目的であった満点の星空には出会う事が出来ず本来なら単なる残念な思い出になっていた今回のツアーですが、ガイドの楽しいお話やお心遣いで大変印象深い楽しい思い出となりました。次回またガイドの下満点の星空ツアーにリベンジ参加したいと思っております。楽しい思い出を本当にありがとうございました。

I drove up to a height similar to that of Mount Fuji, and coincidentally, it coincided with a lunar eclipse. Despite the heavy crowd, I was able to navigate skillfully and enjoyed an enchanting world.
富士山と同じくらいの高さに車で登り、たまたま月食と重なって、劇混みの中、クルクルと機転を利かせて頂き、幻想的な世界を満喫させてもらいました。

On Christmas, December 25th, I participated with my family of five. We were blessed with good weather, and it was comfortable without any wind. However, as someone who gets cold easily, I spent the time bundled up in my UNIQLO Ultra Down jacket, along with the warm gear provided and a lap blanket. (I noticed someone brought a knit hat, and I thought I should bring one next time!)
The vast land,
As the sun sets,
Stars, stars, stars.
Every moment was a luxurious experience!
The timing for the photo shoot was perfect.
Talking while gazing at the starry sky was moving.
Delicious bento,
Warm tea,
(I brought some snacks, and for some reason, my usual snacks tasted several times better, haha.)
It was reassuring to have a restroom nearby.
I read reviews to choose this tour, and one mentioned, "The guide, Mr. Yamauchi, maximized its charm."
That was absolutely true! Mr. Yamauchi's thoughtfulness multiplied the emotions we felt. Having such a wonderful guide made it a memorable experience for a lifetime. I believe the scenery and stories left a lasting impression on the children as well!

The guide, Yamapi, was incredibly attentive. The Krispy Kreme donuts were freshly made and absolutely delicious. During donut time, he made sure to engage with all the participants, which helped everyone bond. I was also happy to stop by the supermarket to buy dinner and choose my own bento. Tours like this are quite rare. The stargazing was simply beautiful and amazing. I would love to join again when I come back to Maui.

On October 30th, we participated as a couple.
We were overwhelmed by the incredible beauty of nature that you can't see in reality.
The sunset sinking into the clouds.
The shadow of the Earth that can only be seen here.
The colors of the sky between evening and night.
We couldn't move from the sunset spot; we wanted to keep watching it forever.
As the sun set further, we even got to see the night view of the town of Kona, which made us forget about car sickness.
The main event was the breathtaking starry sky.
You have to see it in person to understand; it's definitely worth it.
The number of stars is unmatched by any other stargazing spot.
I never thought the Milky Way could be so captivating.
From start to finish, everything captivated my heart, leaving me speechless, with countless memories that can't be captured in photos.
And our guide, Mr. Yamauchi, brought out the best in this experience.
I never expected to see him featured in a travel guide. (laughs)
He carefully shared detailed recommendations for spots on Maui, showcasing the greatness of this island that could change one's perspective on life.
All his stories left a lasting impression on me.
Perhaps because of such a wonderful guide, the other participants were also amazing people.
I will definitely return to Maui!

現実では見られないような自然の凄さに圧倒されました。
雲に沈む夕陽。
ここでしか見られない地球の影。
夕方と夜の間の空の色。
サンセットスポットから足が動かず、いつまでも見ていたかったほど。
さらに日が沈み、まさかのコナの街並みの夜景まで見れて車酔いなんて吹っ飛んだほど。
最大のメインイベントはあっと驚く満天の星。
これは実際に見ないと伝わらないので、絶対見る価値あり。
どんな星空スポットも叶わないほどの星の数。
天の川がこんなに心を奪われるものだと思わなかった。
始まりから終わりまで全てに心を奪われ、言葉を失い、写真には収まらない思い出がたくさん。
そして、それを最大限に発揮させてくれたガイドのヤマウチさん。
まさかるるぶに載ってるとは思いませんでした。笑
マウイ島のオススメスポットを細かく丁寧に教えて頂き、この島の素晴らしさ、人生観を変えるほどの島の偉大さ。
どのお話も心に残りました。
そんな方のツアーだからか、同乗の方達もとても素晴らしい方達でした。
また、マウイ島に絶対戻ってきます！

They also stopped by a local supermarket, which was great. It's reassuring to acclimatize to avoid altitude sickness while heading to the summit. If possible, I think participating during the new moon would allow for a beautiful view of the Milky Way. Stargazing was very enjoyable, with chairs to sit on, blankets available, and a warm tea gathering.
地元スーパーマーケットにも寄ってくれたり、盛り沢山。高山病にならないように体を慣らしながら山頂に行くので安心です。出来るなら、やっぱり新月に参加すると、天の川がキレイに見えると思います。星空観察はいすに座って、毛布もあり、温かいお茶会もありとても良かったです。

This was my first time participating, and it was an absolutely amazing experience. The weather was perfect, and the starry sky and sunset exceeded my expectations! The tour day was blessed with good weather, and since it was close to a new moon, there was no moonlight at all, allowing us to see countless stars like a natural planetarium. The sunset was truly beautiful, with a sea of clouds below, and I was overwhelmed by the starry sky.
I am very grateful to our tour guide, Yamapi. He took great care of us, showed us various stars through the telescope, and the lectures were enjoyable! It felt like going back to elementary school. Following my Sunrise Tour five years ago, I participated in the Sunset Tour for the second time. The weather was great, making it a perfect day for viewing. I was constantly impressed by the lively talk and knowledge of our guide, Mr. Yamap. Since I don't usually live in an environment where I can stargaze, I had a wonderfully luxurious time. If I have the opportunity, I would like to participate again. Thank you very much.

I participated with a friend. They picked us up at the hotel, and along the way, we had fun conversations and learned various recommendations about Maui. We enjoyed drinks at Krispy Kreme, chose bento boxes at the supermarket (I underestimated the bento, but it was incredibly delicious), and shopping at Kula Lodge (we got to sample a lot of food). The journey to Haleakalā was truly enjoyable. The sunset was so moving that words can't describe it. Additionally, we went to a hidden spot where there were only 2 or 3 other people besides our tour group. We had a wonderful time. Unfortunately, the starry sky was not fully visible due to the clouds, but it was a sky that you can't see in Tokyo. (Even though we could see a little, we were told we could come back for a revenge trip next time. It was really thoughtful of them.) I was also moved by Yamapi's passionate stories. Thank you for everything. I will definitely participate again! For those who are unsure about going, you should definitely go—it's highly recommended!
友達と2人で参加させていただきました。ホテルまでお迎えに来ていただいて道中楽しいお話しに加えオススメのお店などマウイに関して色々と教えていただきました。クリスピードーナッツに飲み物、スーパーでお弁当選び(お弁当とあなどっていましたがすごーく美味しいです。)、クラロッジでお買い物(たくさん試食させてもらいました)、ハレアカラに着くまでも本当に楽しかったです。サンセットは言葉にならないほど感動しました。さらに穴場に行っていただいたのかそこは私達ツアー客と他には2、3人だけ。本当に素敵な時間を過ごすことができました。残念ながら星空は雲が多く満天の星とまではいきませんでしたが東京では見れない星空でした。(しかも少しは見えたにもかかわらず、次回リベンジして良いとのこと。ほんと至れりつくせりです。)ヤマピーさんの熱のこもったお話にも感動です。色々とありがとうございました。絶対にまた参加しまーす！！行くか迷われてる方は絶対に行った方が良いですよ〜。オススメです。

The first time was about three years ago when I applied with a friend, but it was canceled due to bad weather. This year for sure! It was a tour for two, but I somehow requested to participate alone. I was grateful that they picked me up. Personally, I think it could have been even more enjoyable if I had a deeper knowledge of astronomy. The explanations in Japanese, the Japanese food, tea, safety measures against the cold, and safe driving were all great. While inquiring about participating alone, I was starting to give up thinking it might be impossible since I was by myself. I also looked at the English tours, but the reviews were... (sweat). It truly became a wonderful memory! I would love to participate again if I have the chance.

I was really happy to see a lot of rainbows on the way, and it felt like I was being welcomed! Since it was close to a full moon, if you want to see more stars, you might want to go around the new moon for a better experience! Anyway, the colors of the sky were truly wonderful, and it was a fantastic tour! Yamapi had a lot of knowledge, so it was really enjoyable not just talking about celestial bodies but also other topics!

In the morning, we were able to fully enjoy a leisurely hotel life until our 14:30 pickup. They picked us up right on time, and we made a stop at Whole Foods to choose our lunch, taking a bathroom break at Kula Lodge while gradually acclimatizing to the altitude. During the drive and breaks, we enjoyed detailed guidance and fun conversations with our guide, Yama P. At the stops, he also recommended souvenirs and offered tastings. In fact, everything was incredibly delicious.
At the hotel, despite our worries about the cloudy sky, we found clear weather at the summit of Haleakalā, with a new moon and no wind, creating perfect conditions for stargazing, according to Yama P. After enjoying our lunch and warm tea in the car, we put on the warm clothing and gloves provided, sat in our chairs, and adjusted our eyes to the darkness for a trip into the starry sky! I asked a friend who has participated in Yamapi's Haleakalā sunset and stargazing tour about why they go so often, and they said it gives them inspiration and courage every time. I was encouraged to join for the first time. Yamapi, whom I only knew from "Hawa Koi," was wonderful, but meeting him in person revealed that he is truly a charming person, and I understood why one would want to join his tours again and again. We were blessed with good weather, and the sunset over the sea of clouds and the starry sky afterward were etched in my eyes and heart thanks to Yamapi's explanations. I visited Haleakalā 25 years ago, and since it was during the day then, this was my first time experiencing the sunset. Unlike Japan, the regulations for entering the park have become quite strict, which I felt is important for preserving nature. The weather was such that there was a sea of clouds below, while above, it was perfectly clear with not a single cloud in the sky. There was no wind, and the moon was in its crescent phase. Our guide, Mr. Yamauchi, mentioned that it was perfect for sunset and stargazing.
At 7 PM, the sunset occurred, and the sun set faster than I had imagined, followed by the green flash. In the eastern sea of clouds, I could distinctly see the elliptical earth shadow, which gave a sense of the Earth's roundness. After the sun completely set, the starry sky was breathtaking. Mr. Yamauchi pointed out the prominent constellations, and I was able to see the Southern Cross clearly for the first time in a while, which was quite nostalgic.
Additionally, with a high-powered telescope connected to GPS that moved with a remote control, I could see Jupiter's vertical bands and the four planets lined up vertically. Various meteor showers were also visible, and the stars at lower altitudes sparkled like jewels, leaving me in awe. The weather was somewhat cloudy, but the clouds were beautifully dyed by the sunset, creating a lovely gradient. The photo-taking and explanations were precise, allowing us to enjoy the experience efficiently in the cold at the summit in a short amount of time. The tour's included down jacket was very helpful. Unfortunately, stargazing was nearly impossible due to the heavy clouds.
After everyone gathered, during the first break, the guide asked everyone where they were from, which made it easy for guests to converse with each other afterward. The second break was at Foodland, where it was great to be able to choose our own dinner instead of having a standard bento. We also had a little shopping time, and I bought some recommended Kona coffee.
The third break for altitude acclimatization was taken at the Clara Lodge, where we had several restroom breaks. We also enjoyed the rest stops as we ascended to 3,000 meters.
曇り気味の天気でしたが、雲が夕陽に染まり綺麗なグラデーションを見れました。写真撮影・説明が的確で山頂の寒い中、短時間で効率よく満喫出来ます。ツアー付属の防寒ダウンがとても助かりした。残念ながら星の観測は雲が多くほぼ不能。
全員集合後、最初の休憩時に全員に声をかけて何処から来たか等の質問をしてくれるので、ゲスト同士のその後の会話が楽に出来ました。2回目の休息はフードランド、夕飯を自分で選べ一律のお弁当でないのはとても嬉しいです。少しの買い物時間も貰え、オススメのコナコーヒーを買いました。
高地順応の為の3回目の休息はクラロッジでとり、トイレ休憩が多く取られていました。3000メートルまで上がるための休憩も楽しめました。

I had been looking forward to the tour even before arriving in Maui! I was also very excited to meet our tour guide, Mr. Yamauchi. When I met him, he turned out to be a very warm-hearted person, and I was really happy with the subtle touches that matched the location. Unfortunately, due to the full moon, we couldn't see the starry sky, but listening to the stories while gazing at the stars felt like a cleansing experience, and I couldn't stop crying... it was quite a challenge. I hope to come back someday to see the star-filled sky again and have my revenge!!

ガイドさんは良かったし雲海までは綺麗に見れたしトイレ休憩も多くて色々良かったですが、何しろメインディッシュが何も体験できてないので感想の言いようがないかな？って感じです

Although it was unfortunately rainy on the day of our visit, I had an amazing time with the guidance of YAMAPEE. We drove slowly up to the summit of Haleakalā (about 3,000 meters), and while I had some concerns about my physical condition, I reached the top in no time while listening to Mr. Yamauchi's guidance. Along the way, we had a lot of fun shopping for recommended coffee and Maui onion-flavored potato chips at the shopping center and Kula Lodge. Although we couldn't do stargazing at the summit, I would love to try again with YAMAPEE's guidance.
