great night of entertainment

I had to read the details on the brochure to know what was going on. But the show was great and we also enjoyed the grounds and the vendors who were outside.

Sacred Falls Adventure - Wailua River Kayak, Hike & Waterfall Swim
Once in a lifetime opportunity

Sacred falls is beautiful and swimming under the falls is a once in a lifetime opportunity that should not be missed. Bring along some good wet shoes and be prepared for a fun kayak trip down the river, a beautiful hike to the falls and then the big payoff at the end. Steve did a great job, and this comes highly recommended.

Luau Kalamaku - Kauai Polynesian Show with Hula & Fire Dancers
Server issues - good show
Reviewed by: Davis Family of 10, 2023/03/09The Luau event location where we ate and viewed the show was all under roof - very large roof. There is not a bad seat in the place with excellent viewing. The 3-man band for our show was outstanding! They wove the dancing and other acts into an historical account which added interest to the hula and fire dancing. Great costumes and enthusiasm from the performers. The food was medium grade with the desserts below medium grade. The process to be seated was an issue with us as a server is supposed to take you after checking in to your table. No server did that for us. Hence after everyone had been served their salads we noticed nobody brought us a salad. Their head server said since we were not seated properly we were not known to the servers as to who would be serving our table. That was a really bad answer to blame us for their mistake. Once they brought us our salad, they almost immediately were asking us to go through the buffet line for the main course and servers were asking for our unfinished salad plates. Other than this server issue, the venue and show was very good.

- Beautiful property. Got to see a peacock open its tail -Lots of great picture spots on the property.
- The food was delicious!! I finally got to try all the traditional Hawaiian food in one place. Things that I didn't get to order in the restaurants, I got here. And it was All You Can Eat which is always amazing. There was no shortage of food for sure. Since they gave you a ton of time (I think an hour?) to eat, you can take your time and go back for 2nd's or 3rd's. (All you can drink drinks but I don't drink alcohol so I enjoyed their juices which were great too!).
- Pig Ceremony!! I got to see them dig out the pig and see the whole thing. It felt special as Mr. Smith explained all that was happening.
- Good singing and hula dancing! Get on the stage and shake your booty!!
- Fire dancer in the show was great!
- This is a family run operation and we were told there were 3 generations on the property!! Keep it up!
- I appreciated the shout outs for all the celebrations that everyone was doing. From Birthdays to Anniversaries and everything in between. One big party!
GROWS:
- Honestly, a Luau is part food and part show and the show was really just lacking. There was no spirit in the performers. I'm not sure if they were bored/tired of doing it night after night or what but I felt almost bad for them(mainly the ladies). The crew was small so they had to do a lot of different dances with the same performers, there was no energy or spirit in any of the dances. Favorite part was definitely the Fire dancer - he was fantastic. The guys also carried a lot more energy than the ladies. I do appreciate the way they tried to incorporate different cultural dances into the show but they all started to look the same after one or two dances. I would've left halfway through the show if it weren't for the fire dancer at the end.

Great family run business.

Ride back had music and hula dancing. It was a slow day for us and this for perfect in our plans. Relaxing calm ride with great people. Highly recommend………………………………………………………………………………………………………we had a short lesson on how to hula dance on our way back to the dock.

とてもリラックスできました
Reviewed by: ハワイ好き, 2023/01/28まず、ハワイに（しかも小さなカウアイ島に）こんなに大きな川が流れているのが驚きでした。このツアーは７６年の歴史があるそうですが、創始者ウォルター・スミスの孫娘にあたる方がツアーガイドをしてくださり感動しました。雰囲気的にはアマゾン川を船旅してるような感じで、結構楽しめました。純粋に川だけのクルーズで（海には出ない）、船も全く揺れずに船酔いもありませんでした。小さな子供から高齢の方まで問題なく楽しめるツアーだとおもいます。

I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking to combine kayaking and hiking. The trail to get to the falls was a bit muddy but not too bad. The falls are very impressive. Lots of fun!

Excellent short cruise with entertainment

Our captain shared the history of the area with us as we cruised to the grotto and at the grotto, one of the performers shared more history with us. On the outward voyage we had music, dancing and song. On the way back we had the chance to learn a little hula dance. Gracious people and a good time.

What is nice about our Wailua Rive tour to the falls is that by the time you might get tired paddling, there is the trail to the falls. Nice combination of paddling and hiking.
