Especially, when he asked my 14-year-old daughter if she could swim, and she replied that she wasn't very good at it, he made sure to assign a staff member to help her. It was an English-guided tour, but our driver, Chris, could speak Japanese as his grandparents were from Naha, Okinawa. The bus was a large one with a restroom in the back, but there were only four participants, including myself, which made it very comfortable.

On the way to Dole Plantation, we could enjoy sightseeing from the bus window, including the statue of King Kamehameha. At Dole Plantation, we had 90 minutes of free time, and in Haleiwa, we had just over two hours. It's nice to have the freedom to explore Haleiwa at my own pace and eat lunch wherever I like, rather than being on a tightly scheduled tour.

The meeting point was in front of Ross Dress for Less on Seaside Avenue, but on the way back, Chris dropped us off near our hotel. Thank you, Chris!

On this day, I participated in the ATV tour at Kualoa Ranch. The meeting time was 10:15, and the tour started at 12:00. The meeting place was very easy to find, and when the time came, a staff member holding a sign that said "Kualoa" guided us, so there was no confusion. Among the participants, there were only two groups of Japanese, including us.

On the bus ride there, the driver introduced various sights in English, allowing us to enjoy the scenery on the way. When we arrived for lunch, we immediately separated by tour type and checked in at the desk. There was no long wait, and the tour started smoothly.

The meal is a typical buffet style, but if you don’t grab everything in one round, they start clearing it away quickly. It’s tough, but I recommend taking two plates to get your food. Just when I thought the show was getting exciting, it ended nearly an hour earlier than expected. (It was supposed to end around 20:15, but it actually ended at 19:20.) It was so bad that I requested a refund, but I was told it was not eligible. The staff at Veltra were very sincere in their response, but the event itself was the worst.

Also, I was worried about whether I could take an Uber if I got wet on the way back, but there was only a long wait for a pickup, so I ended up walking back to Waikiki. It was very good. I think there were many Western audience members. Perhaps because of that, the audience was lively, and the overall atmosphere was very American. They reacted to each performance, cheering and expressing their joy, which made it enjoyable for us as well. It was a vibe that you don't often find in Japan, but experiencing that atmosphere made the trip to Hawaii worthwhile.

The show obviously featured dynamic acrobatics as the main attraction, but there were also interludes of skits that created a storyline. It wasn't a complicated story, but it was enjoyable just to watch. The costumes and dances conveyed Hawaiian culture well, making it a show unique to Hawaii.

Due to the weak yen, the ticket prices were quite high, but it became a wonderful memory.

ショーは当然ダイナミックなアクロバットがメインですが、合間に子芝居が挟まれていてストーリー仕立てになっています。複雑なストーリーではなく見るだけで楽しめるものになっていました。衣装、ダンスなどもちゃんとハワイの文化を伝えるものになっていて、ハワイならではのショーに仕立てられていると思います。

円安のせいもありチケット代はかなり高かったですが、良い思い出になりました。
