Hawaii
Thank you for joining us! We are thrilled you had a great time!
The Luau was amazing, food was great and the entire show was so entertaining!! Me and my partner had a great time. I definitely recommend!
It was a great experience! The activities were fun and educational! Great family environment! Wonderful performances, amazing performers, good food and drinks! The best activity and experience on our vacation! You have to go!
My husband and I had a good time on the cruise. The food was good and the show was fun!
You know how you can never quite describe the atmosphere, moments and beauty of something? That was this experience. From a long distance traveler- this was once in a lifetime. Tell everyone you know and bring them with you. 10/10.
Whether you like sunrise or sunset is personal, I do prefer sunsets: colors are more intense and after that the night comes with a zillion stars, a wondrous show magnified by the purity of the air.
Yoshi, the man from Maui All Stars, in charge of the tour is a courteous man and also a passionate astronomer. He does everything to make you feel comfortable: chairs, blankets, tea, cookies and a powerful Meade telescope that will bring you amazing views of moon and the stars.
What I want to point out is the importance of doing this with someone who loves what he's doing.
Unforgettable moment!
Thank you, Yoshi!!!
Although there were few Japanese participants, I felt that it actually enhanced the atmosphere. The transportation and local staff were attentive, and I was able to enjoy the experience without any major issues.
The food and drinks were mainly Hawaiian and were decent; I don't think they were bad at all. The show combined traditional elements with entertainment very well, and I was never bored. The dancers were also very accommodating for photos.
Overall, I thought it was very good. I recommend it.
Easy entry process, meet by dance troop and greeted by crew member. Scored a very nice table by the window. Staff were warm and friendly and our first free drink was delivered promptly. Food was good and plentiful and stayed out as long as people kept going up. Show was as expected with all staff taking part. We did the fireworks night which was fab. Only real complaint was with the Sunset, the sun didn't com out to play :).
We enjoyed the evening thank you
On the last day of our stay in Hawaii, we visited the venue. First, a Japanese staff member approached us, allowing us to smoothly get our wristbands with the seating assignments without waiting in line! After that, we took a commemorative photo (one photo for $35, two for $50) and were guided to our seats. Everything was smooth, kind, and easy to understand, which was truly helpful. They also provided us with a Japanese menu for drinks and food, making it very easy to navigate.
We participated with our 2-year-old son, and they had high chairs available for children, which was very helpful for families. After that, we went to the Hawaiian culture experience corner, where there were henna tattoo and instrument experiences, as well as a booth for taking commemorative photos. Since I was with my son, I couldn't participate in making necklaces or hair accessories, but we enjoyed our time there for about 15-20 minutes.
Then, the buffet opened, and everyone quickly got up to head to the buffet. Since it was buffet-style, even with a line, it moved very smoothly, and we were able to get food quickly and return to our seats. Everything was delicious, and I was extremely satisfied with the quality of the buffet! I think it would appeal to Japanese tastes as well.
The buffet was an event in itself. It's not something to compare with high-end restaurants, but for enjoying a meal while watching the show, it was truly satisfying! There were various types of food, and the seasoning was just right, exceeding my expectations! During the meal, we listened to live music and enjoyed a relaxing time feeling the Hawaiian atmosphere along with the sunset. It was a very pleasant experience.
After that, the show began, and it was a performance where the audience could enjoy it together with the performers, so there was never a dull moment! There were laughs throughout the show, and we had a really fun time. They showcased dances from various regions, and the live music made it a very captivating show.
It was our first luau show, and I didn't feel any negativity at all; it was the best luau! It was a wonderful way to wrap up our trip. The venue staff, performers, and even the bus driver were all kind and helpful. There were probably no other Japanese participants when we went, but the Japanese staff member was attentive and provided support for everything, so I highly recommend participating!
We participated as a couple. Although there were fewer Japanese attendees, a Japanese staff member came to our seats to explain various things. The venue is right next to Aloha Tower. Upon arrival, we were draped with leis and had a commemorative photo taken (which can be purchased later for about $30). After we took our seats, the plates were served, and the meal started. Since we had the Celebrity Plan, it was nice not to have to go get food ourselves, but the menu felt a bit lacking. An older couple sitting in front of us, who said they were from Indianapolis, seemed to not enjoy it and left quite a bit of food uneaten, eventually standing up and not returning. It seemed like they probably just left.
Although we had front-row seats, they were actually quite far back, which was disappointing. We were told we could participate in activities after the meal, but there was hardly any time, and I only managed to have a young man make a crown out of palm leaves for me (I was supposed to be able to make it myself).
The show started with a demonstration of climbing a palm tree, followed by dances from Tahiti, Tonga, Maori, Samoa, and Hawaii, concluding with a fire dance. The large display behind the stage enhanced the atmosphere, and the MC, referred to as Loco and Paragi Chief (I think it meant a white chief from Samoa), led various performances, making the show enjoyable. There were four male and four female dancers, and they performed all the dances. My wife insisted that each dancer represented their respective country, but it became clear during the finale introduction. (laughs)
Outstanding a great reminder why peace is the ultimate goal in life
Ok, ok. This was my first luau but still, in my opinion, it was the greatest luau you could attended. From start to finish, period! From the time you get picked up the host in the bus doesn’t shut up. I’m kidding. He is great. He entertains you with a comedian style performance to break the ice on your way to the Luau. Who doesn’t like to be entertained. This is better than sitting in a boring 15 minute/ half hour ride. lol. Then you get neckless beads, amazing. Make sure you’re as hungry as a lion cause there is a lot of FOOD. You will gain 10Lbs easy. Then the best awaits. Many different cultural warrior dances both male and female. But they save the best for last. The warrior fire dance. The begging slowly so you won’t poop your pants with so much fire. Talented warriors swinging fire, AMAZING. And if you are celebrating a b-day or anniversary… man you’re in for a treat. Oh did I mention the also take complimentary pictures . Keeps getting better. I’d tell you more but just book the show and see for yourself self.
Private table is not Private at all, you have about 2ft at the most between tables. Service was slow we were told by the server he was covering our area due to another employee not showing up. It took a while to get drinks or water refilled. They don't have condiments available for your meal. It was very warm during dinner and the sun was blinding. Take sunglasses. The top deck was a great area to get some air. There was a large amount of guest and I thought they do a pretty good job handling the amount of people on board but it may be too many for the guest to have a truly great experience
We had a wonderful time on our Road to Hana trip. Our tour guide was great. Informative and entertaining. We saw lots of wonderful sites and had a great group on our little bus. The size of the tour was also a plus. It was a smaller bus and I would say there were about 30 of us. We all laughed and asked questions and oohed and aahed at all the beautiful sights. Would do it again.
Our Tour Guide, Jon, was an outstanding storyteller and kept us entertained with background, legends, history and personal observations of the stops on the tour. He was treated us as Ohana and made sure we had water and juice, delivered our lunches to us, checked that every one was comfortable. At the waterfall trail, my knee acted up so I found a shady spot to wait for my husband. Jon had rented a scooter to go down to the waterfall to check on everyone else. On the way back Jon insisted I use the scooter to return to the bus. I nominate him for employee of the year.
The evening of our tour wasn't the best as the clouds wouldn't leave the top of Mt. Haleakala. So, we didn't see the sunset nor the stars. Yoshi did take us to to other locations as we descended Haleakala and FINALLY the stars could be seen. We viewed the heavenlies for at least 30 minutes if not more. What fun!! And Yoshi provided us with coats and blankets to keep us warm. The donuts and hot coffee and tea was appreciated as well. It was a fun evening.
We chose Chief’s Luau for our honeymoon and it was one of the best moments of our trip. Chief made sure we laughed all the time and got impressed by the outstanding performance. Definetly worth it and we are sure we will go back.
Exceptional cruise! Great service; friendly staff; fantastic entertainment; overall experience was outstanding!!! Highly recommend!!
Early morning tour but you get back with the day still to explore more, great way to see PH!
What a great way to end off our Oahu trip! Mahalo to Mauka Luau!!
Fun evening, lots of different things to do and the show was top notch!
A wonderful event that my husband and kiddos all loved- a memory made together!
Perfect experience, exactly what I pictures + more!
Our stargazing tour with Yoshi was an experience we won't forget! Yoshi was very knowledgeable about Haleakala and so many stars and constellations. He made sure that our tour had an ideal, not crowded spot for the sunset and stargazing (despite the large crowds in other areas). He provided hot tea, warm jackets, and chairs for viewing, and made sure that each person got a chance to gaze through his telescope while he pointed out constellations and planets. He also had very convenient pickup/drop-off locations. We would definitely recommend it!
It was overall an enjoyable experience. I had minor gripes I don’t recall anyone asking how we would like our steak cooked, some were medium, some were medium rare, I know it was a busy day but we found a hair. I enjoyed the drink selection and the bartender did a great job. The servers and staff were great. It was rather warm and it wasn’t until the way back that someone decided to open the “plastic windows” to allow more of a breeze. The Luau portion was just as enjoyable as everything else. I truly had a great time, and would definitely recommend.
Bring your family, all ages have a wonderful time, and there is plenty of different food choices!
The night was ran very smooth. Don't be fooled by its connection to a waterpark as we were worried of the authenticity, but they blew us away!
The guide is moreso on the bus portions, but overall a great day at PH!
The upgraded cruise was well worth it for us, the food was divine!
A bit smaller than past luaus, but was right oceanside and staff really put it all out there for the show!
