Smiths Family Garden Luau in Kauai - Authentic Hawaiian Dinner & Show

We enjoyed a tram tour through the gardens prior to the Imu ceremony, explaining the cooking process of the Kalua pig. Everyone on the property was welcoming and made out experience great. Food was typical luau fare, and seconds were offered after everyone had been through the line once. Bar was open for drinks, and we were allowed to take them over to the show at the pavilion for the show. The show provides some history, different cultures that melded in to current Hawai’i. It was very interesting. Overall a lovely evening.

I was looking forward to the Polynesian dance, but aside from the last performer who used fire, the atmosphere was greatly diminished by the presence of mostly Western and Chinese-Japanese performers. After all, Polynesian dance should be performed by those who embody the Polynesian spirit... Other than that, I was satisfied.

I went to the show on the evening of the first day of my trip to Hawaii. It was my first time seeing a show, and from start to finish, it was a wonderful performance that kept my eyes glued to the stage. Every time the scene changed, incredible feats were displayed, and I was excited the entire time. I felt like I could have watched Cirque du Soleil every day!

Brian was a very experienced guide, and his driving was excellent, allowing us to enjoy the tour with peace of mind. Thank you very much. When I mentioned that I was worried about needing a restroom, he told me to let him know early if I thought it was urgent, which relieved my worries!

The Polynesian show was impressive, with authentic impersonations and a perfect balance that kept us entertained without getting bored until the very end. We attended with three generations, and everyone, young and old, enjoyed it.

The buffet was very delicious. I was guided to a table with only Japanese people, so I was able to have a lively conversation with those nearby and enjoyed my meal. I think it would have been a bit tough if I had been surrounded by foreigners. I appreciated that consideration. Some people say that the time before the show was too long, but I personally didn't find it boring. With the extra time, I went back for seconds multiple times.
The show featured familiar numbers, and I enjoyed it normally. There was also hula dancing. However, while the impersonations of Elvis and Michael were amusing, there were few male backup dancers.
Since there isn't much to do at night, I think it's a good option as one of the many shows available. If you go without the buffet, it's cheaper, making it even more enjoyable.
ビュッフェはとても美味しかったです。日本人のみのテーブルに案内されたので、近くの方とお話しが弾み、食事中も楽しめました。外国人に囲まれていたら、ちょっとしんどかったとは思います。その配慮はありがたかったです。ショーまでの時間が長すぎる、という意見もありますが、私に限っては退屈はしませんでした。時間がある分、おかわりも何回もしました。
ショーも知っているナンバーばかりで、普通に楽しめます。フラダンスもありました。ただ、プレスリーやマイケルは似せていて面白いですが、男性バックダンサーが少なかったです。
夜は特にする事もないので、数あるショーの一つとして良いと思います。ブュッフェなしなら安いので、より楽しめると思います。

Thanks for sharing that. What you ran into can happen depending on how far past the stop you are. The tour triggers stories based on GPS location, so once you’ve moved beyond that spot, the audio won’t automatically replay when you drive away.
A lot of folks will tap the Audio Points or Tour Stops on the tour map if they want to replay something they missed. That lets you listen to it anytime without needing to be at that exact location.
