I stayed at the Courtyard King Kamehameha Hotel. The show takes place at this hotel.

We were supposed to gather at 5:00 PM, but when we arrived, there was a long line in the hallway next to the lobby. I recommend arriving early for check-in, as being late in line can affect your meal time later. If you pay a special fee, you can get seats closer to the front and don’t have to wait as long.

When you line up, they will ask if you want a flower lei or a shell lei. The shell lei is free, while the flower lei comes at a cost. We exchanged shell leis with each other. After that, we exchanged our vouchers for tickets and headed to the venue.

Once we arrived at the venue, soothing Hawaiian music was playing continuously. We waited at our seats until everyone was at their tables. Drinks are self-serve near the entrance. Adults can have beer or mai tais, while children only get red cranberry juice. My 10-year-old child was not allowed to have that. At the same time, there was an introduction to about five traditional games, where you could decorate your face and feet with stamps. Participation in these activities was optional.

Afterward, there was a hula dance lesson, and explanations about traditional dishes, such as meat wrapped in banana leaves and steamed, along with about 30 minutes of free time. Hawaiian music continued to play during this time. About an hour after entering, King Kamehameha finally arrived from the sea.

After that, it was finally time for dinner, but we had to go up to the buffet in order from the front tables. However, we couldn’t go up freely. They called each table, so we had to wait at least 30 minutes after the first table was called. My 10-year-old fell asleep without eating, despite being hungry, as it took a long time for our table to be called.

Desserts, coffee, and tea were available. Just when I thought we could return to our room after finishing our meal, the show finally began. The show featured Hawaiian dances and a fire show, which were quite good, but it took a considerable amount of time to get to the meal and to watch the show. You really need to have a relaxed mindset and plenty of time, or else you might end up feeling exhausted.

The Hawaiian music was very pleasant, and my two sons and husband dozed off, swaying their heads during the crucial part of the show. It ended at 8:30 PM. I think it’s a show more suited for adults. My 10-year-old ultimately didn’t wake up and managed to eat a packed meal of chicken nuggets, fries, white rice, and meat after we returned to the room. It’s a show aimed at older audiences rather than children.

会場につくとず～っとゆったりとしたハワイアンミュージックが演奏されています。全員がテーブルにつくまで、席に座って待ちます。飲み物は入口の近くに自分でとりにいきます。大人はビールやマイタイが提供され、子どもは赤いクランベリージュースのみです。１０歳の子供はそれがダメでした。それと同時に５種類くらいの昔の遊びや顔や足にスタンプのような飾りをつけたりと伝統的な昔の遊びの紹介があります。それに参加するかどうかは自由です。その後フラダンスのレッスンがあつたり、伝統的な料理、バナナの皮に肉を包んで蒸すなどの説明があったり、３０分くらいの自由な時間があります。その間もハワイアンミュージックがずっとかかってます。入場して一時間くらい経つとようやく海からカメハメハ大王が陸に上陸してきます。
それが終わるとようやく食事ですが、前方の席から順番によぱれ食事(ビュッフェ)を取りにいきます。でも自由には取りにいけないのです。テーブルごとによばれるので、とにかく最初のテーブルの人たちが呼ばれてからもさいてい３０分は待ちました。１０歳の子供は、ゆったりとしたミュージックと昼のシュノーケリングでとうとうご飯を食べずに寝てしまいました。お腹がへっているのに、なかなか順番は来ず、自分のテーブルの順番を待ってやっとご飯を食べました。
デザートコーヒー紅茶はあります。
御飯が食べ終わってもう部屋に帰ってもいいんじゃないのと思う頃にようやくショーが始まりました。ショーはハワイアンダンスにファイヤーショーがあったりなかなかよかったですが、とにかく食事にありつくのにも、ショーを見るのにも時間がかなりかかり、心と時間にかなりゆとりをもたないと、逆に疲れてしまいました。
ハワイアンミュージックはとても心地よく、息子二人と旦那もウトウト肝心のショーの時には、
頭が揺れてました。終わりは20:30。大人が参加するショーかなと思います。
１０歳の子供は結局起きず、何とかチキンナゲットとポテト、白ご飯とお肉だけをいただいたパックに詰め込んで、部屋に戻ってから食べました。
子どもより年配の方々向けのショーです。

The show and the meal were great. After the show, everyone went to the restroom, and it got really crowded. In the end, we were a bit late for the meeting time. It was also a struggle to find the car on the way back. I wish there could have been a better arrangement for the meeting time and finding the car, but with so many people and the distance, it was quite overwhelming...

Everything was in English, but I enjoyed the atmosphere! The sunset sinking behind the palm trees, the cheerful host, Hawaiian music, and the Polynesian show created a full Hawaiian mood!

On the left side of the stage, there is an IMU oven, so if you're interested, sitting closer will give you a better view. However, after the meat is taken out, it does have a bit of a burnt smell.

For drinks, there were Mai Tais, juice, coffee, and tea. There seemed to be other alcoholic options, but I wasn't sure about them. The Mai Tai was a system where you fill a bowl with tropical juice and have the staff add rum. It was delicious even without the rum.

The food included oven-roasted pork, chicken, beef, and various vegetable dishes. It's nice to be able to try a little bit of different Hawaiian dishes. The Kona coffee cake was delicious!

The Polynesian dance wasn't exactly amazing, but since it was performed by locals, the atmosphere was nice, and the location was great, so I enjoyed it.

In the second half, there was a Hawaiian music time for a cheek dance. We just watched, but it was lovely to see an older couple from the West looking into each other's eyes and dancing or embracing.

I recommend this show for fully enjoying the feeling of being in Hawaii!

ステージに向かって左側にIMUオーブンがあるので、興味がある方は近い席の方が前で見られると思います。
ただお肉を取り出した後、まわりがちょっと焦げ臭いです。

飲み物はマイタイ、ジュースとコーヒー紅茶がありました。他のアルコールもあったみたいですが、よくわからなかったです。
マイタイはボウルに入っているトロピカルジュースを自分で入れ、スタッフの方にラムを入れてもらうシステムでした。
ラムなしでも美味しかったです。

食べ物はオーブンで焼いた豚肉の他チキンもビーフもあり、野菜料理も色々とありました。

コナコーヒーのケーキが美味しかったです♪

ポリネシアンダンスは正直すごい！というほどではなかったのですが、本場の方なので雰囲気があり、ロケーションもよかったので楽しめました。

後半ハワイアンミュージックでチークダンスタイムがありました。
私達はただ見てましたが、欧米の老夫婦が見つめあって踊ったり抱き合ったりする様子はとても素敵でした☆*。

ハワイに来たー！という気分を満喫するのにおすすめのショーです。

I made a reservation through this site and went to see it in Hawaii, and it was great.
At the end, you can take photos with all the cast members. Everyone is very kind.
The fire dance was impressive.
The live performance was also wonderful.

We originally arrived on a Friday to see the show, but shortly after we started the meal,we were completely rained out. That was very disappointing and upsetting that we weren't forewarned by email about the strong possibility of rain, as we had come over from Hilo for the luau. However, we received a rain check for another luau on the following Monday. Fortunately, we were able to rearrange our schedule to come before flying home. The Monday night luau was lovely - entertainment and emcee were fantastic all around. Food was good, not great. Service was okay. Location was beautiful.

After check in is a small train tour around Botanic garden with guid. Tour is around 15 min, guid show you all kind of trees what you can see in hawaii island.

We brought 6 people to luau. I had been to Smith's Luau 3 times in the past, the others (my Fiancee, our daughters, and their friends) had not. My daughter had been to a couple of "real" Hawaiian family luaus in the past. I advised our group that this would not be like those, it would be a very structured and commercial setting with a really great Polynesian show at the end.

The Smith's are a wonderful family, very accommodating, welcoming, and freiendly beyond words. The tour, Imu ceremony, and food were as good as they had ever been in the past.

The thing that earned the Smith family only 3 stars on this visit was the quality of the performance at the end. I was looking forward to the male warrior portion of the show, but found that the current cast was lacking in stature and talent. With only 3 young men in the cast, two of whom were in the range of 100 to 130 pounds, the warrior aspect suffered dearly.

Hopefully the Smith family can rebuild this cast, or at least get a gym membership for the current cast members, and return the show to the quality that I had experienced in the past.

Last time, I participated in a night show tour, but I wanted to see more, so this time I chose a full-day tour. Since I am learning Tahitian dance, I am very interested in Polynesian life and dance, and this time I was able to see a canoe show, which was thrilling and extremely satisfying.

In the island area, I was able to experience hula, fire-making, and tattooing, and just when I thought, "I'm getting a bit hungry," it was suddenly dinner time. The area was so large that I couldn't explore it all, so I want to go back again.

The night show was also wonderful, and I think if I saw a similar show in Japan, it wouldn't even cover the cost of this full-day tour. I definitely recommend the full-day tour.

前回は夜のショーを見るツアーに参加しましたが、もっと色々見てみたいと思っていたので、今回は1日のツアーを選んでみました。
タヒチアンダンスを習っているので、ポリネシアの生活やダンスに大変興味があり、今回はカヌーショーも見る事が出来たので、もぅドキドキの大満足でした。
島エリアで、フラや火起しやタトゥー体験も出来て、「なんかお腹が空いたなぁ〜」って思ったら、アッと言う間にディナータイムになっていました。広くて回りきれなかったので、また行きたいです。
夜のショーも素晴らしく、日本で同じ様なショーを見たら それだけで今回の1日のツアー代金ではおさまらないと思います。是非1日のツアーをおすすめします。

Since it was far away, I went on a tour. On the bus ride there, the guide shared various interesting stories about Hawaii's past and present.

After arriving, a Japanese student guided us, and we had a great time exploring. We visited villages from six countries in the Polynesian Islands and experienced shows. Due to time constraints, there were moments when we had to move on while others were still participating in activities, but the area is so vast that it's definitely recommended to go on a tour.

Personally, I thought the Tonga show was the best! Men from various countries are selected, and the third one is chosen from among Asians, so I hope the selected person enjoys it.

The dinner buffet was also delicious. The watermelon was lighter than the ones in Japan, but it was refreshing and tasty after sweating, and I had plenty.

Finally, there was the night show. It felt like everyone who visited was there, as there were so many people, and the energy was incredible. I didn't understand all the content of the stories, but there were many performers dancing and using fire, so I enjoyed watching it. During a break, they started selling ice cream, and there was a line for it. Everyone seemed to be enjoying it.

We arrived back at the hotel a bit late, but it was a fun day experiencing the true essence of Hawaii. I recommend the tour not just at night but also during the day!

遠いのでツアーでいきました。行きのバスではガイドさんがハワイの昔や今の色んな話をしてくださったので興味深かったです。

到着してからは学生さんが(日本人)案内をしてくれて楽しくまわることが出来ました。
ポリネシア諸島の6つの国の村をまわり体験やショーを見ます。
時間の関係もあって他の方達が体験されてるのを横目に進んでいく時もありましたが、ツアーでないとまわりきれない広さではあるのでやはりツアーがお薦めです。

個人的にはトンガのショーが最高でした！色んな国の男性が選ばれますが、三人目はアジア人から選ばれるそうなので選ばれた方はぜひ楽しんでもらいたいです。

夕食のビュッフェも美味しかったです。
スイカも日本の物よりはアッサリですが汗をかいた身体には美味しく、沢山頂きました。

最後にナイトショーです。
来園された方が全員入られたのでは？と思うくらい沢山の方が見に来られていて熱気も凄かったです。
全ての話の内容がわかった訳ではないですが、沢山の出演者の踊りや火を使ったものもあるので楽しんで見れました。
途中の休憩でアイスクリームの販売が始まり行列をなしていました。皆さん美味しそうに食べてられましたよ。
帰りはホテルに少し遅く着きますがハワイらしいハワイを体験出来て楽しい１日になりました。
夜だけでなくお昼からのツアーがお薦めです！

As the final night event, I went to check it out. I only participated in the cocktail portion, but it was definitely worth seeing. Of course, there were impersonators of Celine, Michael, and Elvis, but I was most excited about the Hawaiian dance (Fireman and Hula dance)!! The sound was amazing, and the visuals in the background, along with the high quality of the surrounding dancers, made it a very good quality show that you can see quite up close. At the end of the show, you can take photos together in the meeting area. I was hesitating, wondering if tips were necessary since I didn't know the going rate, but it turned out that tips weren't needed, and they were happy to take photos casually! 😊

最後の夜のイベントとして、いってみました。カクテルだけの参加でしたが、見る価値絶対あります。セリーヌ、マイケル、エルビスのそっくりさんはもちろんですが、私はハワイアンダンス（ファイアーマンやフラダンス）が一番興奮しました！！　サウンドも素晴らしいし、バックに映る映像の演出、周りのダンサーのQuality の高さなど、ShowとしてはとてもよいQualityで結構近くでみれます。ショーの最後にミーティングエリアで一緒に写真もとれます。もしかしてチップとかいるのかな？相場がわからないな？と躊躇していましたが、Chipなども必要なく、気軽に写真撮影に応じてもらえましたよ＾＾

This is a busy, but very well organised event - We had the full package - coach transfer, train ride, meal and show. The food was of very high quality and as a vegan I was very pleasantly surprised by the variety of veggie food. (There is plenty for the meat eaters too!). The show good too - something for everyone I reckon.

My sister and I wanna say thank you all at big chief's luau. First luau ever and we had a blast. So glad I had chosen Big Chief's. By far the best even though I'd had never been to another. The family oriented feeling you received you felt as if you had known them longer then you had. The food and entertainment was awesome. Not to mention the lesson in life to learn from . Teaching cultures and hawaii traditions was special. much love to the crew at Big chief's for making us feel so welcome. I would recommend to anyone I know. Even the bus tour guides was top stars.

Polynesian Cultural Center Tour Ticket - Full Day Admission, Dinner & Show

An unforgettable day

We chose the whole day outing at the Polynesian Culture Center and we didn't regret it. Our transportation was on time, the escort was very entertaining and informative and the drive from Maui to the Center beautiful.

We visited as many island sites as possible and found each different and informative and also entertaining. The water parade was gorgeous.

In the afternoon we went for the luau that was extremely well organized. The food was ample and good.

The luau that followed was breathtaking. The dances, the fire dances, the costumes, the colors each and every one was superb.

When all was over we found our bus that brought us back to our hotel. The day was over but the memories lingered on.

For a typical trip, I would consider using the local bus, but the access here isn't very good, and since the park is quite large, it was a good decision to take the tour for efficient sightseeing.

Right after arriving, we enjoyed the canoe show (I'll post photos), where dancers performed traditional dances from the Polynesian islands on their respective canoes, which was wonderful.

The best attraction was Samoa and Tonga! Tonga was interactive, and the selected men had to play the drums. The people chosen when we participated were very talented, and we couldn't stop laughing. The Samoa attraction uses fire, but the mysterious vibe of the older gentleman stood out and made it fun. I recommend participating not just at night but also during the day!

Waikiki is urban, so it was here that I first felt the essence of Hawaii. Make sure to visit this place first when you arrive in Hawaii.

普段の旅行なら、路線バスを使用して、、と考えるとこですが、こちらアクセスがあまり良くなく、全てのアトラクションが、見れないまでも、園内も広いためツアーで効率よく周れ正解でした。
着いて直ぐにカヌーショウ《写真を投稿しますが》、ポリネシアの島々に伝わる踊りをそれぞれのカヌー上で披露され素敵でした。
アトラクションで一番良かったのが、サモアとトンガ！トンガは、参加型で、選ばれし男性が太鼓を叩かされます。私が たちが参加した時に選ばれた方々は芸達者で、笑いが止まりませんでした。サモアのアトラクションは火を使いますが、おじさまの怪しい雰囲気が際立ちすぎて楽しかったです。夜だけでなく昼から参加されるのがおすすめです！
ワイキキは都会なのでここに来て初めてハワイらしさを感じられました。ハワイに着いたら1番に行ってください。

This was our fourth trip to Hawaii, and we participated as a family of four. I apologize, but I signed up without expecting much from the food or the show, thinking it would just be a conversation starter. However, after dining at several steakhouses in Waikiki, I was pleasantly surprised by the high rating my family gave the meal; it was satisfying in taste and had a reasonable portion size. It was unexpectedly good in a positive way. As for the show, although it had a retro feel, it was very much in line with Hawaiian culture and of high quality, which amazed the whole family. I believe that families with children of a certain age can enjoy it thoroughly. The VIP dinner offers various services right in front of the stage (laughs), and while it is a bit pricier, I think it provides good value for the cost, so I recommend it. My family said they would like to go again next time.

Amazing! It was great to see how rich and important the polynesian culture is. I learned a lot about the history, arts, music, history and games in Hawaii, New Zealand, Tonga, Tahiti, Samoa and Fiji. The cultural center is well organized and the shows and exhibitions are really neat. The staff member are very kind and polite. The food was delicious and the final show (Ha! Breath of Life) was fantastic! Don't miss the Hawaiian Journey movie, it features amazing landscapes, majestic mountains, waterfalls, volcanoes and lush forests.
Polynesian Cultural Center is a must-do in Hawaii, specially if you have kids.

I participated in the dinner and show plan starting in the evening. The dinner was a buffet style, and we ate in a different location from the show. Everything I had was delicious! The show was absolutely amazing! I'm glad I was able to sleep on the bus ride there... Every scene showcased the performers' incredible talents with the latest visual technology and lighting, it was breathtaking!!! The story was also easy to understand since they provided a summary in the pamphlet.

ディナーはヴュッフェ形式で、ショーとは別の場所で食べます。わたしはどれも美味しかったです！
ショーが素晴らしく良くて！

There were few Japanese participants, and both on the bus and during the show, an interesting guy talked a lot, so it was tough if you didn't understand English to some extent. My parents in their 70s, who went with me, couldn't enjoy it and ended up dozing off. There were various activities before the show, and participating in them was really fun. The food was quite good for a luau show buffet. The hula dance only took up a small portion of the show and the quality wasn't that high. The highlight was the fire dance performed by a large group. It was a luau show where you could feel the atmosphere of both America and Hawaii throughout.

日本人の参加は少なく、バスの中もショーの中でも面白いおじさんが喋りまくる、時に話しかけられるので、英語がある程度わからないと厳しいです。一緒に行った70代の両親は楽しめず、居眠りしてました。。ショーの前に色々なactivityがあり、参加してみるととても楽しかったです。食事はルアウショーのビュッフェにしては美味しかったです。ショーの中でフラが占める割合はほんの少しで、それほどクオリティも高くないです。圧巻だったのは大人数でのファイヤーダンスでした。アメリカとハワイの空気を随所に感じるルアウショーでした。

The Japanese guide who led us from the meeting point to the Polynesian Cultural Center was like everyone's mother! I'm so grateful.

As soon as we arrived at the venue, we had a meal. The food was, well, pretty good. After eating, we did a little shopping, but we only had about 15 minutes to spare. Honestly, I wish we had more time to look around. Then we watched the show.

The show was dynamic, but I was a bit tired, so I dozed off for a little while. If asked whether I would watch the show again, I probably wouldn't. However, for those who haven't seen it at all, I would say, "You should see it!" Just seeing it once is enough.

There were many buses lined up for the return trip. Before we left, we were told the bus license plate number and the bus gathering area, so I made sure to jot that down to remember it when looking for our bus to board.

It's a bit lonely not having the Japanese mother figure who was with us on the way there (laughs). If you have the time, I think the all-day course would be great, not just the twilight one.

でも一度も見ていない人には「見ておけば？」かと。一度見れば十分、ということです。
帰りのバスは多数が並んでいます。行きの時点で帰りのバスのナンバープレートの番号とバスの集合エリアを教えられるのでそれを忘れにメモしておいて、帰りのバスを探して乗り込みます。
行きで一緒にいていただいた日本人のお母さん（笑）はいらっしゃらないのでそこがちょっと寂しいのですけどね。
もし時間がある方は、トワイライトだけでなく終日コースがよさそうですよ。
