Hawaii
First time riding in a helicopter, the ride was awesome. I did get to see a lot aerial coverage, especially recent destruction that occurred. Checking out the other destinations were ok, but the park was the real treat. True interaction with steam vents. Feeling the heat come from it is insanely hot; even walking a distance away from it and the wind picking up for a bit, my sunglasses fogged up.
This is an experience only you can take for yourself. The helicopter ride made the volcano national park that more interesting. I would do it again just for the helicopter ride.
It was a great trip to see Lanai! The last Hawaiian island for us to visit. Very enjoyable and informative.
unreal amazing views and places how close you get is unreal
a must do
been to Hawaii before and missed out doing this
this time booked before we left home
this is the most eye opening thing you will do in your life
will do again again again if I get the chance
Didn’t know what to expect at the beginning of the tour as it was a long one including a helicopter ride. But everything was just perfect! We were picked up from our hotel on time. Had a wonderful guide at Big Island. The helicopter ride was simply breathtaking they actually did it before time which gave us time for an extra ride of the city after it. Would highly recommend this tour.
Great trip! Nice cruising both ways. Took the 0900 ferry, had lunch at the Four Seasons, then caught the 1400 ferry back to Lahaina. We even had some whale sightings! Very nice. Have done this before, will do it again!
This tour was amazing although a long day well worth it. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone
I had wanted to go at least once, so I applied for a plan that included sightseeing, not just the ferry ticket, but it was a disappointing tour. My impression is that it wasn't worth the high price I paid to participate. Just seeing Lanai from Lahaina was enough.
We loved our day trip to Lana’i. We saw whales on the way to Lana’i right from the ferry. We rented a Jeep and enjoyed exploring the island. We enjoyed the 5th Friday festival en took the evening boat back. Great day!
There were only 7 of us on a bus built for 12. We were not rushed at the sites and the driver/tour guide paced our group appropriately. Driver was very smart and continually pointed out plants/trees and sites as we drove along. Those who were scheduled for helicopter lost out as the helicopter never took off.
It was a private tour for just the two of us.
It was my first time on Lanai Island, and I was guided efficiently.
The only disappointing thing was my lack of English skills, but I felt like I understood about 30% and enjoyed myself.
On Lanai Island, you can feel the original Hawaiian landscape and the remnants of Japanese immigrants, which offers a charm that you won't find in Waikiki or Oahu. It's one of those places I want to visit again and again. The world of the three Ws—wind, waves, and birds—is primitive, simple, and filled with a charm that is almost a little scary.

We took a half-day trip from Maui to Lanai on November 12, with a guided tour of Lanai. It was a fabulous, educational experience and the highlight of our 11-day trip to Maui. Our guide, Bruce, was exceptionally knowledgeable on the island's history. He made the trip so enjoyable and, with the small number of people on each tour, it was very interactive. The online booking process was so easy. We were able to pick the exact date we needed to fit in with our vacation plans. I would highly recommend this tour to everyone.
I arrived on Lanai Island by ferry and wanted to take the shuttle bus to the Four Seasons Hotel, but I missed it. However, a driver from one of the only two taxis on Lanai Island offered to help, and I was able to enjoy a tour of the island.
It's a small boat on the open water, take something if you're one that feels the motion or sea sickness. My wife hated it, I loved it.
I thought I could manage with a little bit of English since I understand it to some extent, but it was a bit tough. I expected that it would be okay if I didn't understand the explanations during the tour due to my limited English skills, but there were many times I struggled to understand things like the meeting times at each sightseeing spot and the lunch explanations. I think you need to have a decent level of English to book this tour. As for the attractions, I was really happy to see many turtles basking on the beach.
We can recommend the Half Day Tour - Bruce was a great guide!
Boat was clean and on time. If you get motion sickness going to Lanai is not an issue, coming back depending on the time you may get tossed and splashed pretty well. Coming back make sure you sit inside to avoid being soaked if you leave after 1 p.m.
We really enjoyed our trip. Our guide Jessica was very entertaining and knowledgeable. Maui is beautiful. Glad we flew over for the day
Steve was our driver/guide on the Lanai Full Day Tour.
He is a very knowledgeable guide and answered all our numerous questions. He is also an excellent driver.
Despite the fact that our tour was cut short by about 2 hours due to the cancellation of the last ferry because of bad weather, we were able to see everything on our list.
Thanks Steve for making our Lanai trip so memorable.
The return ferry departs at 14:00. The guidance for SUVs ends at 10:30. What am I supposed to do for three and a half hours on an island where I have no transportation? It's disappointing that if I had been informed from the beginning, I could have made better plans.
We had a fabulous day on this tour. You do need staying power as it starts early and ends late but it is worth it. The bus tour of the Volcano Park was interesting but it was the helicopter ride that made the day. The professionalism of the company chartered for our ride was outstanding and our pilot had everyone feeling safe, secure and excited for the whole flight. Flying over the volcanos was amazing, even without any red lava on our day.
The one thing that was missing from the day was a little bit of time to explore Hilo itself - it looked so interesting and non touristy that we would have loved half an hour there.
This is not a cheap day, but certainly a once in a
lifetime experience we won’t ever forget and worth every cent.
Everything was amzing! We loved it. Saw multiple species of dolphins, snorkeling was great
The ferry was promptly on time and made the trip without any problems. The staff was friendly and welcoming. As it was a very warm day I appreciated to A/C in the main cabin lower deck!
Bruce our island guide was great and customized for us. Lanai is a special island and very worth seeing. One highlight was seeing two Indian spotted deer bucks with very large horns.
We had the best experience on our day trip to Lanai on a great boat with a fantastic captain and crew. We ended up on the 6:30AM cruise and everyone was super friendly and helpful. I really appreciated that they insist upon the use of reef safe sunscreen (and provide gobs of it for you to use). They also educate you as to why this is so important!
We saw a whale on our way out & a pod of spinner dolphins doing lots of early AM tricks. The beach at Lanai is pristine and you have it almost all to yourself.
The snorkeling was some of the best I've experienced on Maui ~ reefs are healthier than some of the others and there are loads of fish. Only complaint was that it felt a bit rushed, as we took the tour of Lanai first. Honestly I'd skip that next time and spend more time in the water. There was a photographer on the boat who was wonderful ~ she got lots of pics of the wildlife, as well as pics of families/couples on the boat & also snorkeling in the water!
The lunch was very tasty & we enjoyed chilling out with drinks and ice cream on the way back. Thanks much to the Trilogy crew for such a wonderful trip!
The people we’re really friendly. They teaches us how to snorkel properly. The only thing that sounded bad was that one of the worker not the captain but the one under him. Was calling a guy names because the was scared to get in the water that’s not rite he was calling him cupcake, fruitcake that’s just bulling to me
We gathered at the main loading dock of Lahaina Harbor, but there was no one to greet us. When I showed this voucher at the Lanai Island ferry ticket booth, it turned out that the tickets for this tour were ready there.
After a 45-minute ferry ride, we arrived at Manele Harbor, catching a glimpse of the scenic Pu'u Pehe (Sweetheart Rock) from the sea just before our arrival. We were welcomed by our 4WD tour guide (a second-generation Japanese American whose grandfather was from Fukuoka; he spoke a little Japanese and expressed a desire to visit Japan, but he had never been due to difficulties making money in Las Vegas). Our tour began with four people, including a couple from Texas.
From the ferry, it seemed like there was no sign of habitation on the island, but after climbing the mountain for about 20 minutes, we arrived at Lanai City, where most of the island's population (about 3,000 people) is concentrated. There are no buildings, no supermarkets, and only a couple of restaurants, with one movie theater. However, there are 14 churches. There are also two high-end hotels rated L. It seems that the people who stay here are not tourists but rather individuals looking to enjoy a leisurely time in a different world.
As we circled the town and headed toward the garden of the gods, Keahiakabello, we noticed neatly planted pine trees along the road, and a family of wild deer could be seen a little off the road. This area was once a pineapple farm, but part of it is now operated as a horse ranch. Along the road, there were pieces of black sheet film, likely used in the pineapple farm, scattered and contributing to environmental pollution.
As we continued north, we were jolted along a very bumpy road, characteristic of a 4WD, arriving at Keahiakabello, where red earth and large rocks or oddly shaped stones were scattered everywhere. From here, we could also see Molokai Island nearby. Our half-day tour included one more stop, where we might be lucky enough to see monk seals or honu (turtles) at a spot with a shipwreck, but unfortunately, we didn’t see any.
After leaving that location, we returned to Lanai City, said goodbye to the Texas couple on the full-day tour, and arrived at Manele Harbor just 10 minutes before our departure time, successfully boarding the ferry. The return trip was quite different from the outbound journey, as we faced significant waves during the 45-minute ride. Among the Hawaiian Islands, Lanai is small and quiet, allowing us to experience a little of the slow flow of time. Now, we are considering when to visit Molokai Island next.
This was wonderful experience! Captain Ryan and his crew were nothing less than fantastic! Saw hundreds of dolphins (only because of Captain Ryan’s experience), humpback whale and calf and the snorkeling was incredible. The whole crew was very friendly and made us feel at ease! Will definitely book again!
I visited Lanai Island, which is easily accessible by boat from Maui. It was an absolutely wonderful island that I had never imagined! It felt like a place where nature began, a place of origins.
The most amazing spot that I definitely want to visit again is Sweetheart Rock! Perhaps because of the legend of a tragic love story, the scenery is untouched and incredibly dynamic! The sky and sea are so blue! I could have gazed at it forever.
And! Our guide, Isaac, was the best! He explained everything with great effort to us, who are not very confident in English, and even took care of our lunch concerns. I am so grateful! I definitely want to join Isaac's tour again! Thank you for all the wonderful memories!
Took the round trip ferry ride to Lanai. Very comfortable ride. We expected Lanai City to be at the ferry dock...should have done more research.
The ferry runs regularly from Lahaina to Lanai. They are efficient and get you there safely. The ferry is comfortable with enclosed cabins to stay warm and dry...or cool and dry depending on the day.
