7 of us went we had 4 adults and 3 children from aged 9, 12 and 12.5 years. We all had an amazing to time would recommend as an activity. Next time will do zip line

It rained quite a bit during our hike, but I was very satisfied to see the river swollen with water that you can only see on rainy days! My sneakers and jeans were soaked and muddy, but I really had a great time! We were in rain gear for part of the mountain biking, but after lunch, it cleared up, and it felt wonderful to ride down the mountain with the wind in my face. I’m really grateful for the kindness shown to us, even though we don’t speak English! Thank you very much!

Watching the sunset—connecting it to my own life as a way of signaling the end of a day on Earth—made me want to see the best sunset after turning 60. Moreover, with the Milky Way above and a mantle convection hotspot beneath my feet, I chose Haleakalā for this unique experience. It truly is mysterious how "connections" work; I met Mr. Yamauchi, who has been guiding Haleakalā tours for 2,800 times, after moving to Maui from Washington State, where I have lived for 25 years—this seems too coincidental to be mere chance.

His passion for continuing to guide up to 3,055 times, in reference to Haleakalā's elevation of 3,055 meters, shines through in his gestures as he serves hot barley tea and when he passionately shares his life story. This was not just a tour to see the sunset and starry sky; it was something wonderful. Due to the full moon, we couldn't see the Milky Way, but Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn were all clear! Through the telescope, we could see satellites and rings, making it feel like a textbook experience (though it’s usually the other way around). I will come again during the new moon. There are still many other places I want to visit in Maui.

I am savoring a level of satisfaction that cannot be expressed in words, thanks to Mr. Yamauchi's flexible responses, Mayu's smile, and the very well-organized tour. Everything is a cosmic arrangement.

夕陽を見るー地球の1日の終わりの告げ方に自分の人生を重ねるようにみることにつながるー還暦過ぎて 最高の夕陽が見たくなった。しかも頭上に銀河系 足元にはマントル対流のホットスポット そこに自分をつなげる体験はここしかないーとハレヤカラを選んだ。やはり「縁」とは不思議なもので わたしが25年住んでいるワシントン州から13年前にマウイに来られて すでに2800回ハレヤカラツアーをガイドされている山内さんとの出会いー偶然とは思えず。
標高3055mのハレヤカラにちなんで3055回までガイドを続けるという情熱は 熱い麦茶を出してくださる仕草にもご自分の人生を熱く語るときにも溢れ出ていて 単に夕陽と星空を見るだけのツアーではない素晴らしいものでした。満月ゆえ 天の川が見えずでしたが、火星木星土星全てくっきり！望遠鏡では衛星、リングなども全て、まるで教科書のように(本来は逆ですが)楽しめ
ました。もう1回 新月のときにきます。マウイにはまだまだ他にも行きたいところが多々あるので。

I wanted to visit the filming location of Jurassic Park, so I joined a two-hour tour starting at 11:00. The views of the mountains, grasslands, and the beautiful ocean were absolutely wonderful.

The horses were very well trained and took us on a leisurely stroll. Our group consisted of six people: my husband and I, one Japanese woman, and a family of three from Australia, along with one female staff member.

Perhaps because there were many Japanese tourists, the riding staff spoke a minimal amount of Japanese (like "danger," "please go right/left," "straight," etc.), so I think even those who are not good at English will manage.

I was told that we couldn't take any bags while riding, so I didn't bring my smartphone, but I regretted that decision. I thought if I had brought it with a strap around my neck, I could have easily taken photos with one hand. (It’s okay to hold the smartphone with one hand for photos, but you must hold the reins with the other hand, or you’ll quickly be warned in broken Japanese with "danger.")

Right after we started our walk, the staff took individual photos for us, but they cost $15 each. Since they were printed quickly, the quality wasn't great. I hesitated for a moment about buying one since I didn’t take any photos while riding, but ultimately decided against it.

For our belongings, we received a key for a coin locker ($5 each) at the ticket office, but when we arrived, all the lockers were already full, so they kindly stored our things for free in a room at the ticket office.

There were also souvenirs, a food court, and a smoking area. I bought half a papaya ($2) from the food court's refrigerator, which was ready to eat, and it was perfectly ripe and delicious after the ride!

Fortunately, we had great weather and enjoyed ourselves, but even with the 11:00 start, it was a bit hot walking in the sun on the grasslands without shade (though there were occasional shaded spots that felt nice and cool). A sun visor, hat, and sunglasses are essential, and make sure to wear a hat that won't blow away in the wind.

If you're driving from Waikiki, I highly recommend bringing a swimsuit and towel. The ocean below while riding was truly beautiful, and I wished I could stop by the beach on the way back! There were several families playing at the beach, though I'm not sure if they were locals. However, please be cautious as the waves can be quite strong; while bodyboarding might be fun, just floating around isn't advisable.

This tour is really a slow stroll, so it might be a bit lacking for experienced riders (intermediate or advanced). I thought maybe a one-hour course would be fine next time, but after swaying on the horse's back for two hours, I felt very relaxed and even a bit sleepy towards the end. I recommend the two-hour course for a leisurely and relaxing experience.

P.S. I didn't have much muscle soreness the next day.

ジュラシックパークの撮影場所まで行ってみたくて、11:00からの2時間コースに参加しましたが、山と草原、素晴らしい海も見えて、とっても良かったです。

お馬さん達はとても良くトレーニングされており、ゆっくりパカパカお散歩してくれました。
私たち夫婦の他に日本人女性1名、オーストラリアからのご家族3名の合計6名で1グループとなり、女性のスタッフ1名が同行されました。

日本人の観光客が多いからか、乗馬のスタッフの方々は必要最低限の日本語（あぶない、右へ／左へ行ってください、まっすぐ、等）を話しましたので、英語が苦手な方でもなんとかなるとは思います。

乗馬の際、荷物は持って行けないとのことでしたので、スマホも携帯しませんでしたが、持って行けばよかったと後悔しました。ポケットから落としたりしたらいけませんので、首からストラップをかけてスマホを持って行けば、さっと片手で写真撮影できたな、と思いました。
（片手でスマホを持ち写真撮影はOKとのこと、もう片方の手は必ず手綱を持っていないとすぐにカタコト日本語で「あぶなぁい」と注意されます。）
お散歩スタート直後に、牧場のスタッフが一人ずつ写真を撮ってくれますが、1枚15ドルでした。当然スピード印刷ですので、画質はよくありません。乗馬中の写真はひとつも撮らなかったので、一瞬買おうかと迷いましたが、やめておきました。

荷物は、チケットオフィスでコインロッカー（1つ5ドル）の鍵をもらい、すぐ近くにあるロッカーに保管出来ますが、我々が行った時にはロッカーはすでに満杯で、チケットオフィスのお部屋で無料で預かってくれました。

お土産やフードコート、喫煙所もありました。フードコートの冷蔵庫に、すぐに食べられる状態のパパイヤ半分（2ドル）が売られていたので乗馬後に頂きましたが、ちょうど食べごろでとっても美味しかったです！

ありがたいことにお天気に恵まれ、楽しめましたが、11:00スタートでも木陰がない草原を歩いている時は日が当たって少し暑かったです（でもちょこちょこ木陰があり、そこは涼しくて気持ちよかったです）。サンバイザーや帽子、サングラスは必須です、風がありますので、飛ばされないような帽子をどうぞ。

ワイキキから車で行かれる方は、是非水着とタオルを持って行かれたら良いと思います。
乗馬中に眼下に広がる海は本当にとてもきれいで、帰りにビーチに寄りたかった！！！と思いました。地元の方々なのか分かりませんが、ビーチで遊んでいる家族連れが何組かいらっしゃいました。但し、波が結構ありますので、ボディボード等はとても楽しいかと思いますが、ぷかぷか浮かんで遊ぶ、というのには不向きですのでご注意ください。

このコースは本当にゆっくりお散歩なので、乗馬経験者（中級、上級者）には物足りないかもしれません。
次は1時間コースでもいいかな、と思いましたが、2時間もお馬さんの背中に揺られてお散歩したら、後半はとってもリラックスして眠くなったほどです。
ゆったりとリラックスには2時間コースはおすすめです。

PS:翌日の筋肉痛はたいしてありませんでした。

I was impressed by our guide, Matsucchan, from the very first meeting. He always gave his all, and he was a wonderful person who enhanced the beauty of the sunset and starry sky on the Big Island. It had been a while since our last family trip, and the photos we took captured everyone with big smiles, creating lovely memories. I definitely want to participate again. Thank you!

Best tour of the trip this time . Walk to the manoa waterfalls, rainy and muddy . Full of fun! Remember to bring the insects repellent. Walking sticks from the tour company really help a lot!

Compared to Waikiki, the weather was not very good, and I was a bit worried, but by the time we reached the summit, it was clear skies! We were able to see the shining sunset and the Venus Belt that appeared after sunset.

The stargazing afterward was also wonderful, as we enjoyed a sky full of stars, including the Milky Way, the Southern Cross, and planets. It was truly a fantastic experience, and my friend and I were both deeply moved.

It gets really cold at the summit, so having Heattech would be a good idea.

ワイキキと比べるとあまり天気が良くなくて少し心配していたのですが､山頂に到着する頃には快晴！光輝くサンセットと日没後現れるビーナスベルトも見ることが出来ました｡
その後の星空観測も天の川や南十字星､惑星を含め満天の星空を楽しみました。
本当に素敵な体験で友達と二人感動しっぱなしでした｡
山頂は本当に寒いのでヒートテックがあると良いです。

I finally experienced ziplining!
We went by rental car without any shuttle service.
The location was easy to find. Everything on-site was in English, so there were moments of confusion (laughs), but it all worked out! The staff were bright, kind, and reliable, which made up for it! The scenery is truly amazing. There’s also a bit of an obstacle course that takes about three hours. If you're not afraid of heights, you'll be fine.
You can definitely enjoy nature to the fullest!

念願のジップライン体験してきました！
私達は送迎なしで レンタカーで行きました。
場所もわかりやすかったですよ。現地は全て英語なので なんだかさっぱり（笑)な事もありますが
なんとかなります！そしてそれをカバーするくらい
スタッフは明るく優しく頼もしい！景色も本当に最高です。3時間位でアスレチックの部分も少しあり。高所恐怖症でなければ大丈夫です。
自然を満喫できること間違いなし！です！

You can easily drive to the summit of Mauna Kea. You can acclimatize to the altitude while enjoying a bento, and they provide solid advice on breathing techniques. Watching the sunset sinking into the sea of clouds is truly moving! You might even forget to breathe... During the stargazing, you can see the Southern Cross and the Milky Way, and the explanations of the constellations were very easy to understand. They take great care in preparing warm clothing and drinks, allowing you to forget the cold and get lost in the starry sky! You can also capture such wonderful scenery in photos. If you have a DSLR but lack confidence, don't worry! They will carefully guide you on camera settings. Even if you can't take the photos yourself, a great photographer will capture the best shots for you. Thank you, Macchan, for taking care of us from the beginning to the end of the tour.

マウナケアの山頂まで楽々、車で登れます。高地順応もお弁当を食べながらでき、呼吸法のアドバイスもしっかりしてくれます。雲海に沈む夕陽を見ていると、本当に感動！息をするのも忘れてしまいそうになりますが・・・。星空観測では南十字星や天の川も見れて、星座の解説もすごくわかりやすかったです。防寒着から暖かい飲み物の準備など、気配りもばっちりで寒さも忘れて、星空に見惚れます！そんな素晴らしい景色を写真でも残せます。一眼レフを持っていても、いまいち自信のない方、大丈夫です！カメラの設定も丁寧に教えてくれます。自分で撮れなくても、名カメラマンがベストショットを撮ってくれます。
ツアーの最初から最後まで全力でケアしてくれたまっちゃん、ありがとうございました。

It truly felt like a breathtaking feature from a television program appeared right before us. The weather on the day we participated was fortunate, allowing us to enjoy the beautiful sunset from the mountaintop and a stunning starry sky. Our guide, Jin, was friendly and kind, and Yamachan's explanations about the stars were very easy to understand and witty, which made for a relaxing and enjoyable experience. Thank you for the wonderful time. Lastly, the miso soup served during dinner at the Onizuka Center was very delicious. If you're someone who gets cold easily, it might be a good idea to bring a neck warmer.

まさしくテレビ番組の絶景特集が目の前に現れた感じでした。私達が参加した日は天候にも恵まれたらしく、山頂でのサンセットも、星空も美しく最高の景色を拝むことができました。ガイドのじんさんも気さくで親切だったし、やまちゃんの星空の説明もとても分かり易くウイットにとんでいて、リラックスして楽しい気持ちですごすことができたのも良かったです♡素敵な時間をありがとうございました。最後になりましたが、オニヅカセンターでの夕食時に出していただいたお味噌汁、とっても美味しかったです。寒がりの方は、ネックウォーマーを持参されるとよいかもしれません。

Great place to zip line...Staff was great. We had tour guides Sage, Danny and Asia. Awesome people and very friendly, the learned our names from just the first zip line. I wouldn't book through Veltra (sorry they were nice) however Climb Works has a greater military discount; 25% trumps 10% any day, wish I knew that. It was a great adventure overall! I would do it again.

This was the final activity of our week in Oahu for our 10yr anniversary and WOW!! Talk about ending with a bang. The views were awesome, the pilot was a nice guy and the ride was smooth. For me the best part was the view of pearl harbor, we went and visited the Arizona Memorial earlier that week but to see the aerial view was simply stunning, the emotions were ones that will never be forgotten, thanks to Makani Kai Helicopter Tours.

This tour was our family favorite. The time flew by as we moved from line to line. The crew was a lot of fun and very helpful! I can't wait to go again.

The tour bus picked us up at our hotel on time and were very friendly. He provided us with local information along the way. The hikes at both Diamond head and Manoa Falls were spectacular. This tour is one that can't be missed!

We really enjoyed this activity! It was relaxing and fun. Our guides were GREAT! They were lots of fun - without them the activity wouldn't have been as fun. The tunnels we went through were cool! I was worried they would be full of spider webs but they were super clean - no worries there at all. Our only complaint was it was too short. Wish it would have lasted longer! The lunch was good - just wish we would have had more time, it felt a little rushed. Here we were in this beautiful spot but had to eat and run. I would do this again. Kids of all ages would enjoy this adventure! We had old and young in our group and everyone had a great time. One thing I wish they would do is have someone taking photos that you could purchase afterwards. Since we were in the water and couldn't really get good shots - even with a waterproof case, it would have been really nice to buy some photos of our group as we came down the river and inside of the caves so that we have some memories of it. Since we have no pictures, we have nothing to show our family and friends. They want to see pictures.

This was a great adventure. Plan for the better part of the day. The hike seems odd at first because you start in a neighborhood. But once you are on the path it is a beautiful journey. It was a it rushed which was disappointing as it was hard to enjoy the surroundings and go fast. The bike ride was a lot of fun with awesome views of Diamond Head and Waikiki. The last part,snorkeling with Sea Turtles, was the absolute best. They are amazing creatures and would surface right next to us. When scheduling, ask for Elon. He did a great job for our group. Also, Terrii was an excellent tour guide when he joined us.

Zipline crew was amazing. Tip: bring your tip. You leave almost everything at the lockers before you go out so I didn't have a tip for the girls that were our guides. They were awesome, always positive, on their game. The landscape plus flying through the air was something I'll never forget. We were so happily surprised by the meal. Not fancy, just so yummy. I think it was the best we had our whole trip to Oahu and we were there for 13 days. Secret Island was fun even though it was a bit chilly and overcast. We went out on a complimentary boat ride with a glass bottom, saw some turtles. Since it's on the Windward side of the island which has more rain and weather, I might have skipped the island (which is not really an island).

This was my second time participating in the sunset and stargazing tour at the summit of Mauna Kea! The sea of clouds and the sunset were absolutely amazing, and it was so soothing. I was able to feel the clear air and enjoy a peaceful moment! The stargazing coincided with Tanabata, and I was able to see the Milky Way as well as my zodiac sign, Leo. No matter how many times I visit the Big Island, I always get to see it in different ways, which is so much fun and allows me to create many memories! The tour guides were all full of vitality, and having Japanese guides made me feel at ease. I look forward to more enjoyable tours in the future!

今回2回目のマウナケア山頂夕陽と星空観測参加！
やはり雲海、夕陽が最高で、、、癒されました。
空気が澄み渡り、静かな時間を感じる事が出来ました！星空観測も丁度七夕で天の川も観れ、私のしし座もしっかり見る事出来ました。
ハワイ島は何度訪れても様々な姿を見る事が出来楽しく、思い出をたくさん作る事が出来ました！
ツアーガイドさんたちも皆さんバイタリティに富みやはり日本人ガイドさんだと安心でした。
これからも楽しいツアーを期待しています

The guides are well educated and very mindful about safety. From start to finish this stream experience was delightful, relaxing, and very worthy life experience. Very very worth it if you want this experience.

We enjoyed a two-hour horseback riding experience as a family. It was our first time riding, but the horse was very smart, and we felt safe while riding. It was a valuable experience that included going up and down hills, crossing a river, and traveling through meadows and forests.

家族で2時間の乗馬を楽しみました。初めての乗馬でしたが、馬がとても利口で、安心して乗ることが出来ました。登り有り下り有り、川を渡り、草原の中や森の中を行く貴重な体験でした。

It was so much fun that it felt like a moment! Before I could feel scared, I jumped, and it was exciting → so much fun!! The instructors were all really nice too. The photo fee was a bit high, but it became a great memory! I want to jump at least two more times!

I had been looking forward to experiencing this at least once in my life, and it turned out to be incredibly fun.
There is a waiting line to fly, which is determined by the order of arrival, weight balance with the instructor, and altitude. In the morning, it was cloudy, so we could only ascend to a low altitude, but during the waiting time, the sky cleared up, and we were able to rise to a higher altitude under the blue sky. It ends in the blink of an eye, so I recommend going for a higher altitude. The staff also tried their best to entertain us with their limited Japanese. I didn't mind the tipping system at all; in fact, I enjoyed it so much that I added extra to the box.

人生で一度は経験したくて、今回楽しみにしていました。結果、最高に楽しかったです。
飛ぶ順番待ちがありますが、到着順、インストラクターとの体重バランス、高度などで決められるそうです。朝は曇っていたので、低い高度までしか上がれなかったそうですが、待ち時間の間に晴れて、青空の元高い高度まで上がることが出来ました。あっと言う間に終わってしまうので、高度は高い方がおすすめです。スタッフも片言の日本語で楽しませようと頑張ってくれていました。チップも制度だと思って特に気になりませんでした。むしろ、楽しかったのでプラスして箱に入れました。

I wanted to try ziplining, so I booked a package that included transportation. The pickup time was punctual. There was one Japanese couple, and the rest were all foreigners. Although the explanations were only in English, they were easy to understand with gestures. (It might be tough if you don't understand any English at all.) The staff were cheerful and kept the energy up, so I enjoyed the tour the whole time! The first line was scary, and I had a hard time jumping off, but from the second line on, it was fun to glide, and I wasn't scared anymore. I was able to slide backward and even upside down.

日本人カップルが一組おり、後は外国の方ばかりでした。
英語でしか説明されないのですか、身振り手振りで分かりやすく説明してもらえます。
(全く英語が分からないと大変かもしれません)
スタッフも明るく、盛り上げてくれるのでツアー中ずっと楽しめました！！
1本目は怖くてなかなか飛び降りる事が出来なかったですが、2本目からは滑る事が楽しくて怖さはありません。
後ろ向きで滑ったり、逆さに滑ったり出来るようになりました。

This was the most beautiful way of seeing the island! This is my third year spending the summer with my family on Oahu, I have been blessed to be able to spend so much time on this beautiful Island and seeing it from above brought a whole new perspective. Margo was wonderful!! Thank you so very much! I only wish our video had come out.

This was my first time participating in horseback riding at the Kohala Coast. Previously, I rode in Waipi'o Valley. Riding in Waipi'o was quite thrilling, as the horse would wade through the river, almost getting our feet wet, and it was a lot of fun. However, this year, due to concerns about Zika and dengue fever, I opted for horseback riding in the mountains.

All the staff were women, and they were all adorable cowgirls. They let us run the horses at times, which gave a very free impression. Helmets, boots, and jackets for riding can be rented on-site. You can hang a pocket on the horse's back to carry water bottles, valuables, and cameras.

At scenic spots, they took photos for us. I highly recommend horseback riding on the Big Island!

今回、コハラ・コーストでの乗馬ははじめての参加です。以前はワイピオ渓谷での乗馬でした。ワイピオも水に足が浸かりそうな程ジャブジャブと川の中を馬の背に揺られたりしてかなりスリリングな体験ができて楽しかったですが、今年はジカ熱やデング熱の心配があるからと、山の上での乗馬にしました。
スタッフは全員女性。かわいいカウガールばかりでした。途中で走らせてくれたり、かなり自由な印象です。乗馬用のヘルメットやブーツ、上着などはその場でレンタルできます。馬の背にポケットを下げて、ペットボルや貴重品、カメラなどを持つことができます。
景色の良いところでは、写真を撮っていただけました。
ハワイ島での乗馬はおススメです！！
