It was great seeing these amazing creatures but this is not so much a see the great manta ray in nature as much as it is a highly commercialized, 'we've figured out how to give you a manta-ray petting zoo experience'. They boat you out, extend a floating ladder with lights (to attract plankton), and then have you float and hold onto the ladder as the rays swim below you. They do come very close to you (and may brush against you) as they eat the plankton. Pretty neat for the first several passes but since you are surrounded by other boats doing the same thing with their own floating ladder-like structures the rays will spend their time with whomever has the brightest lights. After about :30 minutes of this people start getting bored and getting back on the boats. It was fun and interesting and glad we did it but not really "swimming with the rays".

It was our first trip to Big Island, Hawaii and upon many suggesting that the luau is a must, we booked it! It’s an amazing experience knowing about the culture, rich heritage of Hawaii. Food is delicious with a wide spread of salads, main course, fruits n desserts. Thrs a drinks bar too! We enjoyed all the performances especially the fire dances! Had a great time and would recommend this to our family n friends visiting in the future.

The guide, Herald, was friendly and kept the group energized during the long drive. He shared a lot of local information about Hawaii. If you understand English, I think it's easier to participate than in a Japanese tour.

Although the weather in Kona was nice on the day of the tour, it rained as we got closer to Mauna Kea, and I was worried about the weather at the summit. However, when we arrived at the top, it was above the clouds, so there was no need to worry.

The summit of Mauna Kea was really cold. Even with a light down jacket and four layers underneath, plus a large down jacket they provided, I still felt cold. Despite the warnings about needing a jacket and long pants, some people didn't prepare, and it seemed quite cold, so they ended up spending most of the time on the bus, which was disappointing to see. (So, warm clothing is essential.)

There were parts where we joined other group tours, which made it hard to hear the explanations, and there were often car lights and white lights that are strictly prohibited for stargazing. However, I was able to see shooting stars multiple times, which was moving! I highly recommend it.

当日はコナの天気は良かったもののマウナケアに近づくほど雨で、山頂の天気を心配しましたが、山頂に着くとそこは雲の上で心配無用でした。
マウナケアの山頂は本当に寒かったです。ライトダウンを着て4枚も着込んだ上に貸してくれる大きなダウンを着ても寒かったです。
あれだけ注意事項に上着必須、長ズボンと書いてあっても用意していない人もいて、かなり寒かったらしくバスの中でほとんどを過ごすこととなり、見ていて残念でした。(そのため、防寒具必須です)
ほかの団体ツアーと一緒になる部分もあり、説明が聞き取れなかったり、星を見るには厳禁の車のライトやホワイトライトが行き交うことも多かったですが、流れ星を何度も見ることができ、感動的でした！お勧めです。

I couldn't reconfirm using the phone number written on the voucher. If reconfirmation was necessary, I would have liked to know that before making the reservation. It's quite difficult for those who are not good at English.

On the day of the event, while I was being shown to my seat and went to get a drink, another staff member seated a different customer, which caused us to lose our seats. Again, my limited English made it hard to communicate with the staff. The staff, seeing the situation, called a Japanese staff member to help us explain, and we finally secured a seat, but it was at a different table. The person who originally had that seat was upset. (I couldn't understand what they were saying, but their gestures and tone indicated they were angry.) It seemed that they told the staff, and we ended up staying at that table, feeling quite uncomfortable.

We were looking forward to the show as a couple, but it was very disappointing. Moreover, the food was served by table, and it took a long time for it to come around, so we were almost last. When I went to get food, there was hardly anything left. There were no plates either. We could only get food until the show started, so we barely had anything to eat. I chose this for our last memory on the Big Island, but it turned into the worst memory. The show itself was good.

Please improve communication among staff regarding who was seated where. Well, I won't be using this service again.

元々の席の人には怒られて。(何を言ってるかはよく分かりませんがジェスチャーと口調で怒ってるようでした。)その人がスタッフに言ったようで、私たちはこのままの席になりましたが、肩身の狭い思いをしました。
夫婦で楽しみにしてたショーだったのにもううんざり。
しかも料理はテーブルごとで、中々順番がまわってこずにほぼ最後。
料理を取りに行ったら、料理がほとんどない。皿もない。ショーが始まるまでしか料理は取りに行けないから、私たちはほぼ食べる事が出来ませんでした。
ハワイ島最終日に最後の思い出と選んだのに最悪の思い出になりました。
ショー自体は良かったです。
もっと、誰をどこの席に通したかとか、スタッフ同士で連携してください。
まあ、二度と利用しませんが。

I went directly to the meeting point since I had rented a car. On time, our guide Daisuke arrived. He was amazing!! He claimed to know more about dolphins than anyone else in the world, and he was right.

There were tours for foreigners, and the dolphin spots were crowded, but with his precise guidance, we were able to read the dolphins' movements from the agile boat and dive in!

We were able to see dolphins right in front of us during every dive. I had participated in several tours in Oahu, but this experience was on a completely different level in terms of encounters with dolphins, proximity, and enjoyment.

My middle school daughter was also very satisfied; it was a memorable tour. Thank you, Daisuke. This tour is definitely better than the more famous ones!

The Sea Paradise crew gave us a great experience, from setting us up with wet suit and snorkel gear to teaching us how to "behave" in the water (#1 rule - Don't touch the Manta Rays, #2 rule - don't pee in the wetsuits - haha! - they provide a bathroom on board), providing drinks and snacks, including hot chocolate which was welcome after the snorkeling. They also made sure we weren't needlessly floating around in the water before the rays showed up, but got us in there in plenty of time to see 4 different rays swimming literally inches below our faces! So cool to see them somersault and glide beneath you. Completely worth the cost! Do this!

Mauna Kea Summit Adventures Sunset & Stargazing Guided Tour with Transportation

The tour was very interesting and Arthur our tour guide was very knowledgeable of the region. He answered all of our questions about the local environment as well as the history of the Hawaiian people.

It was cold at the summit and a sweatshirt should be worn if you cannot handle the cold even with the atlantic parka and gloves that is supplied.

The stargazing spot was incredibly clear and we could see hundreds of stars. We were also able to spot Venus, Jupiter, and several star systems through the telescopes provided.

I had the boat take me ahead of where the dolphins were coming, jumped into the sea holding onto a noodle float, swam at full speed to see the dolphins, got back on the boat, and repeated this seven times (laughs). It was quite a workout for someone like me who doesn't exercise at all, but I was really glad to participate as I watched the dolphins swimming close enough to touch and saw a group of over 30 dolphins (I counted, laughs) swimming leisurely in a slightly deeper area. Although Kealakekua Bay wasn't as blue due to the clouds, the water was clear and filled with colorful fish, making it very beautiful. I thought I would need to give a tip, and sure enough, they politely said, "If you were satisfied, please consider a tip." We handed over $50 for the two of us, which felt sufficient. The tour cost $170 per person, so with the tip, it comes to over 20,000 yen per person, but considering they provided the boat, determined the direction of the dolphins, and let us enter the water at the right timing, as well as took us to another snorkeling spot, I think it's a reasonable amount.

On the way back from Kealakekua Bay to the initial meeting point at Keauhou Bay, they showed us the dolphins from the boat again, and we were able to see them jump out of the water and spin twice!!! Since they are wild animals, we might not see them every time, but with 30 dolphins present this time, it's unlikely to have zero dolphins.

I was a bit anxious about the English tour, but when they first asked, "Can you speak English?" I replied, "A little," so they didn't say anything too complicated (laughs). When they helped me get back on the boat, they asked, "Very good, yeah?" and said, "Dolphins come this way, go!" There were instructions at Kealakekua Bay to avoid landing on the shore, but all of it was in simple English. I could understand but couldn't speak, so I just expressed my enjoyment by saying things like "Woo!" when I saw the dolphins (laughs).

Additionally, there were many other boats from different companies in the sea, and we helped each other by sharing the locations of the dolphins. When I was swimming freestyle, a Japanese guide from another tour told me, "It's better to kick your legs!" which was very cooperative and nice. The only downside is that there is no pickup service, but if you stay at the Sheraton Kona Resort & Spa at Keauhou Bay, you can walk to the meeting point.

I had such a great experience that I ended up writing a lot, but I highly recommend it, so definitely consider participating!!!

イルカが来るほうにボートで先回りしてもらって海に飛び込み、ヌードルという浮き具を握りしめて全速力で泳いでイルカを見て、ボートに上がってまた先回り、を繰り返すこと7回（笑）普段全く運動をしない身には堪えましたが、触れられそうな距離を泳いでいくイルカを見たり、ちょっと深いところを30匹以上（数えた（笑））のイルカの群れがゆったり泳いでいく様子を見たりして、参加して本当に良かったと息切れしながら思っていました。ケアラケクア湾も、曇っていたので青い海という感じではありませんでしたが、水が透明で色とりどりの魚がたくさんいて、とてもキレイでした。チップ渡すだろうなと思っていたらやはり「もし満足してもらえたならチップを。」と丁寧に言われたので、2人で50ドルお渡ししたら十分な感じでした。ツアー代が1人170ドルなのでチップを入れると1人2万円以上ですが、ボート出して、イルカが泳ぐ方向も見定めて適切なタイミングで海に入らせて、もう1か所シュノーケリングの名所に連れて行ってくれるわけですから、妥当な金額だと思います。ケアラケクア湾から最初の集合場所のケアウホウ湾に戻るとき、もう1度イルカをボートの上から見せてくれて、イルカが海面から飛び上がってスピンするところも2回見られました！！！自然の生き物なので毎回見られるわけではないかもしれないけど、今回30匹いたのでイルカがゼロということは滅多にないんじゃないでしょうか。
尚、英語ツアーということで少し不安がありましたが、最初に"Can you speak English?"と聞かれ"A little."と答えておきましたので、難しいことは一切言われませんでした（笑）海からボートに上がるのを手伝ってくれるときに"Very good, yeah?"と聞かれたり、"Dolphins come this way, go!"と言われたり。ケアラケクア湾では、海岸に上陸しないようになどの案内はありましたが、いずれも簡単な英語です。こちらは聞き取れますが話せないので、イルカが見えたときに「ヒュー！」などと言って楽しんでいることだけ伝えておきました（笑）また、海には他の会社の船もたくさんいて、お互いにイルカのいる場所を教え合ったり、私が平泳ぎをしていたら「バタ足のほうがいいですよ～。」と他のツアーの日本語のガイドさんが教えてくれたり、協力的な感じでよかったです。送迎がないのが難点ですが、集合場所へはシェラトン・コナ・リゾート＆スパ・アット・ケアウホウ・ベイに泊まれば歩いて行けます。
とても良い体験をしたのでつい長々と書いてしまいましたが、とてもおすすめなので是非参加してみてください！！！

Jim Carrey led our group on a wonderful adventure! He is a master story teller and an provided such detail in sharing the culture, sites and flavors of Hawaii.
The day was rainy but we were covered by umbrellas and deliciously warm coats that the tour provided. There were so many things to see and stories to be heard that the day was over way too quickly. Will most definitely do this tour again the next time we visit the Big Island and we will definitely ask for Jim Carrey to be our guide!

We enjoyed this trip. It is only approximately 30 minutes. We were able to see a fair amount of fish and other sea creatures including turtles. The guide was very knowledgeable. However, we seemed to ask the questions or not sure if they would have shared much. That in my opinion should be improved upon.

At first, we searched for dolphins by boat but couldn't find any. After that, we moved by car and soon encountered a large pod of dolphins just off the bay! We saw dolphins swimming and jumping, sometimes so close that it felt like we could touch them, and we returned home completely satisfied. The guides were all very cheerful and friendly, and we are very grateful for their experience and judgment. Thank you for the precious memories with my family.

First of all, surfing was fun. However, there was a lack of confirmation. I interpreted "meeting at the location" to mean gathering at the office, as it mentioned to meet at the office. So, I was surprised when they said, "Okay, come here!" after finishing the payment and fitting the rental gear. I thought they would take us from the surf shop to the ocean. In the end, my mother came to pick me up with a rental car, but I accidentally got a parking ticket where I parked. There was a free parking lot right nearby, but I wasn't informed about that. It was disappointing, especially since I enjoyed surfing.

サーフィンは楽しかっただけに残念でした。

The boat was comfortable. Although we didn't see any whales, I think they did their best to find them. The crew also took pictures with us and worked hard to make the cruise enjoyable. In the end, we stopped at a point where we could see dolphins, and we were able to cruise alongside many dolphins. We didn't see any whales, but it was a satisfying tour.

It was an activity within the hotel where we stayed, so transportation was easy. I was reminded of the dolphins' intelligence when interacting with them. Time seemed to fly by, and while I felt the price was high, the kids were happy, so it was worth it.

There was a pricing structure, and we signed up for the higher option, but I couldn't really tell the difference from what others were experiencing.

Our tour guide Grant was amazing and very knowledgeable! He made the experience so great! The tour was great you get to see a lot of the big island. I love waterfalls and the rainbow falls was breathtaking. The volcano view at night was so awesome I would totally do it again. Worth the money!

A beautiful 3 mile kayak with an amazing snorkeling experience! My advice- wear sunscreen even if it doesn’t feel like it’s sunny...Ouch! Lesson learned. For the dare devil jump off a 30 ft cliff into the gorgeous blue waters. For the pansies jump off a 3 ft mini cliff!! Lol. Wonderful personalized experience. Would highly recommend! Brian was a lot of fun!

This time, I participated with my 12-year-old son, and we were the only two on the tour. Although my son couldn't swim, they provided us with a float (noodle), so we could enjoy the activities with peace of mind. They arranged a large boat just for us, and the female captain was very kind! She told us where the dolphins were and changed the points so we could swim with them. シュノーケリングの後、ボートで頂くフルーツも冷えていて美味しかったです。
船長さんのホスピタリティーも素晴らしく、ハワイ島の自然を満喫出来たこのツアーに参加して本当によかったです。
子どもにとっても貴重な素晴らしい体験となりました。

I participated alone, and when I looked around, I was the only Japanese person there. I boarded the boat thinking it was a sightseeing cruise, and the view from the ship, including Kailua and the mountain ridges in the background, was incredibly beautiful. The boat went all the way to the cape in search of dolphins in Kailua Bay, then made a U-turn while the captain diligently searched for dolphins. It was worth it, as suddenly 6 to 10 dolphins appeared and swam around the boat for a few minutes. I was very excited to see wild dolphins up close. It took about 30 minutes to reach the snorkeling point, where we had about 2 hours for snorkeling and lunch. After that, we cruised around Kailua Bay in search of dolphins. I can't speak English, but the crew was very kind and friendly, providing explanations in Japanese.

Kealakekua Bay Guided Kayak & Captain Cook Snorkel Tour - Adventures In Paradise

Excellent snorkeling plus a kayak paddle

The trip starts early so you can be the first on the water and the first to snorkel before the crowds show up. The paddle over to the Cook Monument was easy. We stopped for a history and a geology lesson which were interesting. Once the Kayaks were landed we walked to the Monument where we donned our snorkel gear and jumped into the water. Everywhere on the Big Island is difficult to enter the water. This was just an easy jump.

The fish were a wide variety with lots of groups of yellow butterfly fish. They come here for the waters which are a mix of fresh from the lad and salt water. The blurry effect of the waters mixing is fun. This place lets the fish clean themselves of irritants. The coral was fine but some was quite damaged.

The park only allows a limited number of snorkelers at this location. They should dial the numbers back as it became crowded quickly when five boats showed up about fifteen minutes after our snorkel started.

The paddle back was easy and it was still morning.

The instructors were very kind, and the atmosphere was relaxed, making it enjoyable. There were few Japanese participants, and the event was primarily in English, but that was fun in its own way. The height of the zip line added to the grandeur of the experience, and I had a great time. I highly recommend it.

Hawaii Zipline Tours - Big Island Waterfall & Rainforest Zip Adventure

Overall, very satisfied with the value of this trip. I have ziplined in Mexico and in Belize City, and this trip was very comparable in terms of value, excitement, and thrill.

The Hawaii zipline consisted of 7 lines, the first few were relatively short. Although short, breathtaking views. The last three were much longer, more scenic, and best of all, amazing view of a BEAUTIFUL waterfall! The day I went was very gloomy and did have some slight visibility issues due to fog, but the experience was amazing.

This was more expensive than my foreign ziplines, but as I mentioned, it was a great value for the experience relative to the other ziplines I have done.

Thinking back on what I could have paid for other Big Island adventures, no regrets on this trip and would ABSOLUTELY do this one again.

Lastly, the staff were great! Very expeditious, always safety first, and very friendly.
