Big Island
We had 6 adults and 2 toddlers, this was the perfect activity for all of us to do. Short enough, interesting and interactive.
Amazing experience this is the best way to get into the vally and hear the story's from your guide I came back to the island to do just this and it did not disappoint.
Awesome trip down into the valley with incredible photo opportunities. Forest did an excellent job telling us the history and plant life even got to eat fresh passion fruit from a very nice local.
Fun and exciting. Nice view of the ocean and beaches. Saw lots of fish, a green turtle, an eel, and amazing coral. Staff was very knowledgeable. Of the two glass bottom trips I took, this was by far my favorite. was the one with the most fish.
We had such a great time! The crew was so nice. We had a great snorkel day, saw lots of fish. The water activities were a great bonus. The slide and platform were fun too! We went as a couple but great for families/children also. Had pastries and yogurt for breakfast, burgers for lunch, and cash bar open the entire time. I do wish for the price at least 1 drink could be included, but it was still a great time. We even saw some dolphins following our boat shortly before docking at the end
Thank you for joining us! We are thrilled that you had a five star experience!
I chose this show with my sister because we wanted to see something representative of Hawaii. We were surprised by the large number of participants and were guided by the staff, who were very accommodating. The wind was strong, which was surprising, but I felt it was a good choice to participate in such a vibrant show. I created wonderful memories. The drinks, food, and welcoming leis were lovely.
It was almost magical, definitely a fun tour to a place you cannot go on your own. Waipoi valley is like going to a hidden paradise that only a few outsiders get to visit and I feel envigorated that I was one of them. I saw many people in regular vehicles at the view point over looking the valley but only residents and tour groups are allowed to enter the valley and if you request it you can get off the 4x4 van and walk to the beach and catch the next vehicle back for a small fee. Overall I very nice experience.
Staff, dancers, food and everyone involved was amazing!
From the moment of arrival the staff was friendly and very attentive (we did pay for the VIP section and it was worth it for the service). The were almost too many food choices to choose from and it was all very delicious. The host was engaging and entertaining, the music wonderful, and all the dancers were great. We enjoyed that they were telling stories in their dance, not just there for show. Overall it was a wonderful experience, the only negative I have is location because you can't see the ocean from the luau venue and it does help the ambience we feel.
I like that it was short, and that we were able to get on the water, we saw many little fish and a turtle.
The staff was excellent!
Mahalo for your feedback! We enjoyed having you aboard!
The tour guide ( Dexter) from Polynesian Adventure Tour picked us up from the hotel on time. Very knowledgeable and very informative . He knows all the places and history of the Big Islands (Hilo). Patiently waiting for us to finish the tour. We really had a great time. We will use the Polynesian Adventure Group again.
After hiking this trail years ago and taking the van trip this time (2023), I would never choose another way to go other than the van ride. Pleasant driver and informative. Felt safe.
The kayak was stable, and I got used to paddling as I went along. The course goes from Keauhou Bay to the underwater cave in the next cove. We headed out far enough that the sea turned a deep blue. We made several stops along the way for breaks and hydration. The water was calm with no waves, and dolphins were jumping around. According to the guide, the baby dolphins were practicing their jumps. I felt lucky. Due to the wind, snorkeling was limited to about 20 minutes in Keauhou Bay, and I was a bit disappointed as I was expecting to see many more tropical fish. In Big Island, where Japanese is hardly spoken, it was a relief to have conversations in Japanese with our guide, Noni. I highly recommend participating in this experience.
It was so nice we did not have to be there first to get a good seat. They were pre assigned and we were led to them by a very friendly staff member. We thought we would be the only ones there with a baby but there were other families with young children. Baby made to feel welcome. The food had a great variation with possible allergens noted at dish. Very thoughtful as my daughter can not eat dairy products while breast feeding her son. The maître D was lovely with a very soothing voice and good story and history teller. The dancers were very good and were smiling the whole time. It made for a happy time. Setting was beautiful. The fire dancer was very talented. I worried he would get burned, but he didn’t, thank goodness. All in all, the food, company of others beside us we got to meet, and the show was well worth the money spent. Thank-you
Absolutely amazing. Highly recommended for everyone. Food was fabulous and the dancers telling the island story heart felt.
The performers and food was really good. Only comment I had been to the same Luau 4 years earlier and the story was much more in depth . We truly enjoyed it but 4 years ago you got to hear the complete story of Hawaii.
It was truly a valuable experience to visit Waipi'o Valley, which we couldn't have gone to on our own, and I definitely want to go again.
Since there was only an English tour, it was a bit challenging to interpret for my husband, but it was really a sacred area where we received a lot of energy.
The guide was also very kind, and I would love to participate again.
My hubby and I wanted to try this ATV experience since we enjoyed a similar one on Kauai the previous year and it did not disappoint!
Going through the trails and seeing the sites were completely beautiful. The private little waterfall/lagoon was also refreshing after being covered with the dust from the trail.
The one thing I would have liked is a bandana to cover the lower half of my face because the dust got all up in every crevice.
Hi Ann,
Thank you for your 5-Star review and your comment. We did sell bandannas at one point but I guess we sold out. We'll get on it! Thank you!
The approximately three-hour lure show was captivating with wonderful dances and songs. I was deeply moved to be able to experience Hawaii's traditional culture up close. The staff were also very friendly and left a good impression.
During the show, tourists were invited to join in, and everyone was laughing at the comedic dances. It's a pity that there were so few Japanese participants among the attendees; I think there were only a few in the show I attended. I hope more Japanese people can feel comfortable participating (perhaps the pricing is a bit high).
I am also very pleased with the final photo, which turned out beautifully. If I come to the Big Island, I definitely want to participate again. Mahalo.
You need to check this out if you are not an experienced ATV rider, the tour guides are very patient and chill.
You will arrive to a beautiful area, check in, bet your gear and go over a few house rules. HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO USE THE PROVIDED GOOGLES (not your sunglasses)! The road gets pretty dirt heavy and become difficult to see.
It's a short ride but they take you to a small water hole where you are given the opportunity to jump off the rock and into the water and afterwards a drive back.
Wear something that you can get dirty, do not wear white and do not bring items you do not want to get dirty. The dirt is like a clay color and sticks.
Our tours guides were great ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Hey Stepheee,
Thanks for the review and great advise for future guests. Glad you had a great time!
This was an outstanding dinner and show. Food was delicious and drinks were always being served. You never had to ask for drinks because there was always someone walking by with a tray full. The show was amazing and educational. The Dancers were incredible and the women were beautiful!
I highly recommend it!!
My fiance(who i proposed there in the Luau)and i just love the party so so much!!! Everything were amazing! All the workers were so nice, incredible shows and tasteful food!!! We recommend 100% for everyone!
The food was ok. The entertainment was ok. I’ve been to a luau before and this time was just ok. It wasn’t worth the price.
The content of the show was very good!
The seasoning of the food was not as expected...
I was seated at the very back, but I could see well if I stood up in the back.
- Hawaiian History, Flowers, Trees, Birds, Fish & Tame Wild Horses - Fabulous Scenic Views
- Enjoyed The Delightful Pick Up Spot
Really enjoyed the dinner, we were nervous but it was soooo delicious!!
Mahalo for joining us and taking the time to share a kind review! We are so happy that you enjoyed dinner! Best wishes to you and yours!
It was very cool. Every one was very kind and accommodating. Guide was informative and pilot was very good. We saw a couple sharks and tons of other fish. Kids loved it! (12 and 10) Mahalo!
On the whole, I'm glad I went. It was a lovely day, the boat was comfortable, and food great. The trip included a plant-based breakfast and lunch, with Kona coffee and alcoholic drinks available for purchase. The boat stopped twice on the way out so our guide could explain what we were seeing along the shore.
All the staff members were delightful and took good care of us.
Unfortunately, Kealakekua Bay did not offer the variety of sea life I experienced in other Hawaiian locations. I wonder if the reef has been affected by global warming. My prior experiences were 20 years ago, so things may be different now.
My experience was complicated by the fact that the corrective face masks were only available in a medium, which was too large for me. Consequently, I had major water leakage and was unable to spend much time snorkeling. One of the staff explained that supply chain problems have limited the availability of corrective masks. That's a good reason for bringing your own!
My sister, who had her own mask, explored more widely and commented on the relative scarcity of sea life, although she did see one kind of fish that was new to her.
Nevertheless, the trip was fun. I enjoyed my run down the slide - my sister's dared me to do it!
A number of snorkeling tours go to Kealakekua Bay. I looked at the other tour boats there and concluded that ours was the best. All in all, it was a great way to spend the morning. (Did I mention that both breakfast and lunch were delicious?)
Great way to celebrate our honeymoon. HWV goes above and beyond to make you feel like family on this evening.
Staff was terrific at all levels; dock staff, wait staff, bar tenders, historian, musician, & Captain. Everyone was upbeat, personable, courteous, professional, and entertaining.
Food was excellent and the drinks were generous. The captain was very personable and entertaining. Mother-nature provided us with a pod of pilot whales to observe, while keeping a safe distance. Historian was fabulous, giving everyone a much better appreciation and respect for the Hawaiian culture. The music got everyone rocking and rolling with the motion of the boat. A great selection of songs that had the passengers engaged in song.
Can't say much more. We loved it, would do it again, and would highly recommend it to everyone. It was a 3 hour tour that was well worth it.
Aloha tmessall@msn.com,
We are thrilled to learn that you had such a great time!
Mahalo for joining us and taking the time to share your experience. We appreciate you sharing your kind words and hope to see you again someday soon!
