We challenged ourselves to kayaking for the first time as a group of four, and it was great to set off in a tandem kayak. However, it felt like we had to paddle hard to avoid being pushed back by the waves, so I'm glad we weren't in single kayaks. One person did get seasick and had to take a break at the snorkeling point, and after that, they had to give up halfway! Everyone, don't forget to take motion sickness medication! Even though I took it beforehand, if you're not feeling well, please don't push yourself.

It turned into a private tour for just one group in the afternoon. Due to the effects of the recent hurricane, there were some waves, and since there were two beginners over sixty, we didn't push ourselves with kayaking or snorkeling. Still, it was enjoyable to paddle and swim on our own, and we were able to see sea urchins, sea cucumbers, and beautiful fish. Kevin was fluent in Japanese and took a lot of photos for us. Afterward, we were able to change at a nearby restroom and took the trolley bus back to our hotel in Kona. Since there was no bus in the 4 PM slot, we waited at the Sheraton Hotel while having tea. If you're worried about seasickness, changing clothes, or managing money, it might be good to inquire beforehand. It's better not to rely too much on information from the internet. If I have another opportunity, I would like to join an early morning tour and enjoy kayaking and snorkeling to the fullest.

Short, I'll blame it on the hurricane

It was a very short trip and we only saw 1 cave and a very small one. The guide was great, however due to the approaching hurricane he said that it was not save going further. I'm not an expert on weather, but the waters/wind did not change for the entire time we were there. If I would've known what it was going to be, I would've prefer they had cancelled the trip and we would have either planned for another day or received our refund.

First Kayaking Experience 初めてのカヤック

We visited the Big Island for our honeymoon and participated in this tour with my wife. We were taught the basics of kayaking and then set out to sea! It was a fantastic location with a pleasant breeze, and we were able to paddle gracefully, which made us very satisfied! However, perhaps due to several days of sleep deprivation, my wife started to feel seasick about 20 minutes into paddling... We paddled quite a distance, so I was very happy, but for my wife, it was a time of endurance, haha. I have snorkeled at the Great Barrier Reef in Australia, and I remember being very disappointed because the wind was strong and the water was murky, but the waters around the Big Island were incredibly clear, allowing us to see all the way to the bottom. There were plenty of fish swimming around, and there were corals as well, making for an amazing snorkeling experience. However, by the time I got back on the kayak, I was also feeling seasick... It was a very fun tour, but if you're prone to motion sickness, it might be a good idea to take some medication before participating.

新婚旅行でハワイ島を訪れ、このツアーに妻と二人で参加しました。カヤックの簡単な漕ぎ方を教えていただきいざ海へ！最高のロケーションと心地よい風の中優雅にカヤックを漕げて大満足！しかし、連日の睡眠不足がたたったか漕ぎ始めて20分ほどで妻が船酔いに・・・。結構な距離を漕ぎますので私は大満足だったのですが、妻にとっては我慢の時間帯でした笑私はオーストラリアのグレートバリアリーフでシュノーケリングしたことがありますが、風が強く海も濁っていてとても残念だった記憶があるのですが、ハワイ島の海はとても綺麗で海の底まではっきりと見え、魚もたくさん泳いでおり、さらにサンゴもいて感動のシュノーケリングになりました。ただ泳ぎ疲れてカヤックに乗ったころには私も船酔いに・・・。とても楽しかったツアーでしたが、酔いやすい方は酔い止めを飲まれて参加されたほうがいいかもしれません。

The remote location was fantastic, Devon added to the trip with his exciting and friendly personality teaching us about the land formations, the sea, and Hawaiian folklore. A must see, will be booking again next year with Devon for my whole family.

So much fun!

The guides were lovely and we saw dolphins! It could not have been more fun. We went as a family with my 60-year old parents and my 7-year old son. All had fun. There was snorkeling in a lovely cove, along with cliff diving and fresh pineapple. The only thing I wished I'd known was that we don't actually take the boats on shore for picnic time. My mom wasn't wanting to swim so ended up hanging out in the kayak. She still had fun watching the dolphins and cliff diving, though. I highly recommend the experience.

My family visits the Hawaiian islands every summer and we've been on many tours. This particular event was very personalized and was one of the best we've been on over the years. The guide was very personable, he took us off track when dolphins showed up so we could snorkel near them. It was clear the guide was thoroughly enjoying himself, which made the trip enjoyable for all who were there. The guide even gave up his own shoes to a person who didn't bring a pair. Highly recommend this trip!

Kevin and Noni at King Kayak did a fabulous job of getting us out on the water. We had a group of four, ranging from 10 to 80 years old, and they kept the trip interesting, and low-impact. We got to see some spinner dolpins, enter a sea cave, snorkel in a pristine location, and jump off of cliffs into the crystal-blue waters of the bay. They took photos of us free of charge. It was a great adventure for all!

A fantastic adventure! We rowed down the coast--explored and rolled into a couple of caves. Snorkeling and cliff jumping into clear waters--everything we could ask for. Our guide-(Kayla)-sorry--I know that's wrong---was great. Good instructions on kayaking basics---knowledgable about the area---she knew her stuff. My wife and I--both 50-ish--were blown away. We would highly recommend this trip and this company. Thanks for a great day!

Absolutely fantastic. Our two guides were extremely knowledgeable about the Island and told us things that you would only get on a tour. The kayaking was a blast and we had visibility to 100 feet. We went kayaking into a sea cave and were also able to snorkel there as well. We saw many fish, urchins, and even an eel in a tidal pond that our guide took us to. I would highly recommend this to anyone who wants to cross off their bucket list, kayaking across the bay/ocean, seeing ancient tombs, and being face to face with God's wonderful creation of the Island. Since I was staying at the Sheraton near Keauhou Bay, it was easy to get around, and because it was an early morning tour, I was able to spend my time meaningfully. Although I didn't encounter any dolphins or sea turtles, kayaking was a fun experience that I don't often get to do. Compared to Oahu, the water was very clear and beautiful. Viewing the Big Island from the sea was interesting as I could feel the volcanic rock formations and the lush greenery.

It was such an amazing experience, my husband and I decided to buy a kayak, at some point. The guides were also awesome and they told us some history, as well as helped us found objects that we dropped out of they kayak. One guide actually found my husbands wedding ring that fell off his hand when he jumped off one of the cliffs. It was truly amazing and such a fun time with the group!

We participated as a family of four, including my parents and my 5-year-old son. Fortunately, we had a private tour just for our family. Since my son wasn't feeling well the day after we arrived on the Big Island, we were able to change the usual course and enjoyed kayaking in the nearby bay area. They were very considerate, and my parents even tried snorkeling, which seemed to make them very happy. I would love to participate again if there’s another opportunity.

Kayaking with Kevin (owner and our guide that day) was a lot of fun! Kev was very nice and friendly. He did a quick briefing on how to use the kayak and the paddles. And we were on our way exploring bay after bay and caves after caves. There were plenty of locations to snorkel. Kev took great photos, too! He brought us fresh tropical fruits for our snack and they tasted soooo good, especially after the snorkeling and paddling! King Kayak Hawaii is definitely the company to book this adventure with! Kohala Coast Guided Stand Up Paddle Adventure from Waikoloa - Hulakai

A little bit challenging, but fun!

The voucher we printed was a little confusing. It had the correct zip code and address, but the wrong location in one area, and the correct location in another. Leave early so you can find the Mauna Lani Bay Hotel and the Hulakai Beach Hut. It is NOT at the Waikoloa Resort. We got there right on time and met Chris at the hut. He was very nice and friendly, low key and patient. I guess he's done this a lot with us novices! The cove was flat and glassy, and easy to get back on the board if you fall. After some practice in the cove, he lead us out past the breakers into a little more challenging water, but still not horribly choppy. Turned around and headed back into the cove. I had an easier time, so it may be more difficult for some people than others. Relax as best you can, keep looking up and you should be well on your way!

Sea kayaking and nothing else

We were looking forward to this as the best part of our vacation, but we're very disappointed. We arrived at the dock area, and out guide told us it might be a little cold and windy out but that it would not affect our tour of we still wanted to go out. We decided to go, and kayaked a mile and a half through very choppy waters. Exhausted by the time we reached the sea caves, our guide turns to us and tells us it is too rough to do any other part of the tour and we have to turn back. We ate the snacks they had packed and paddled back. No refund offered and no one let us know before hand that we would not get to do half the tour. The guide was very nice, but there should be some sort of refund policy if only a partial refund....

Adventurous and Interesting Tour!

This tour was one of the highlights of our trip to Kona! Our guide Nate gave us lots of great information on the history of the island, the places we were visiting, and general Hawaiin activities. We kayaked in the ocean for about 1.5 hours total, so this tour is definitely for active people. We explored some sea caves, did some cliff diving, and snorkeled in a cove, and met the local eel as well.

Very professional and safety conscious organization. The kayaking was fantastic! They spent time with the beginners to help them feel comfortable and let those with some experience go at their pace also. Ben and Noni were our guides and they were very knowledgeable, took us to a beautiful snorkeling place, dove down a grabbed things off the bottom for us to see and led us to a great sea cave. Do this one day while you are in Hawaii!!!

I met Kevin for the first time in six years, and once again, I was able to enjoy kayaking comfortably. I was able to enter "Dragon's Throat," which I couldn't do before due to high waves, and the tour photos are a wonderful keepsake. I'm looking forward to participating again.

Our cruise was very enjoyable, short though, didn't take long for the sun to go down. The boats captain was very friendly, knowledgeable, and did his best show us the sights in the area, but once the sun is gone, not much more to see after that. All-in-all we enjoyed our outing very much. Any day on the water is a good day.
