At first, I was worried about whether we would be able to enjoy stargazing due to the cloudy sky, but as the second half of the tour progressed, the clouds cleared up, and I was thrilled to be able to see the sunset, the Subaru Telescope surrounded by a sea of clouds, and the starry sky. Three of my kids participated in the swimming with the dolphins and LOVED IT! One even said it was the best day of her life! We were hopping the volcano would be erupting when we booked the flight, but missed by 2 days. We did see the layout of the volcano and got a better understanding what happens and where it happens.
We had a free afternoon on the Big Island and wanted to check out the Waipio Valley. After a little research, we found that the only way for non-locals to visit was with an official guide.
