We met at the hotel parking lot entrance and from there, it was about 50 meters to the starting point of the canoe tour where we received instructions and did some stretching. We only took the minimum necessary items onto the canoe.

The waves were somewhat choppy, not completely calm, and we paddled along the left bank while passing the hotel’s first-floor restaurant, heading towards the next cove's cave. I had always wanted to try kayaking after seeing it on TV. We even encountered dolphins along the way and managed to reach a cave, which was a lot of fun. The guide was always nearby, which made me feel safe. We took many photos, creating great memories. It was my first time snorkeling as well, but I got used to it quickly, and before I knew it, time flew by.

I was able to see whales not just once, but multiple times. I was very satisfied to see a mother and her calf as well.
During the cruise, snacks and soft drinks were provided for free. While sitting outside, the staff asked what drinks we wanted and brought them to us.

It was a stable day, so I didn't need any motion sickness medication. I drove to the location with a rental car, and it was easy to find; it's at a corner. You can park on the shoulder of the road.

The weather was perfect, and I was moved by all the scenery. I was told that if things went well, I might see a whale, but I didn't get my hopes up. However, whales appeared! They jumped several times, which was also moving. The passengers on the boat cheered loudly. And then, the sunset—absolutely stunning. I recorded videos of the whales and the sunset. Even after returning home, it was amazing!

One slight disappointment was that although they mentioned light snacks, there were only some snack foods in paper cups. The rest was just conversation... This was our fault, but I was disappointed that I couldn't understand the crew's fun talk. Because of these two points, I couldn't say it was "the best!" I apologize for that.

That said, it was a series of moving experiences. I am grateful.

We participated as a couple. My husband is a good swimmer and has experience with kayaking, but I can't swim and was a beginner with kayaking, so I was very scared at first. However, the guide kindly taught us in Japanese, which made me feel at ease. When I paddled on the left side, my body tilted to the left, and I capsized three times. For some reason, I ended up falling into the sea alone, which was actually quite funny. For snorkeling, they lent us a boogie board, so it was easy and enjoyable. There were plenty of fish, and even though I can't swim, I had a great time. My husband has poor eyesight, so he bought prescription swimming goggles in Japan and borrowed a snorkel from the guide to enjoy himself. There are no shower facilities. We changed at the restroom on the first floor of the Sheraton before heading home. The meeting point is a bit hard to find. While there were some inconveniences, the positives far outweighed them, and we were very satisfied.

I was worried about seasickness, so I took some medication before heading out, but I didn't feel much rocking at all. I was able to see whales about four times, but of course, since we couldn't get too close, just watching from a distance lacked a bit of impact. However, being able to see them with the naked eye is only possible during this season, so I was really moved just to have had the chance to see them!

I participated in the tour in early February 2020. After checking in at the tour reception, we boarded a small boat at a shallow beach and then transferred to a medium-sized whale-watching boat after heading a little offshore. Since this tour was not specifically for Japanese speakers, all the explanations were in English, and we didn't understand much as we are not very good at English. However, both the reception staff and the crew were friendly, so we didn't feel out of place.

The tour includes drinks and snacks. We didn't need them, so we didn't eat or drink, but I appreciated that the crew took the time to ask if we wanted something to drink and made an effort to deliver drinks to elderly passengers who found it difficult to move around due to the boat's rocking.

What kind of whales we encounter is purely a matter of luck, but this time we were able to see a mother whale with her baby. We didn't get to see any flashy displays, but we enjoyed watching them blow water and see their tails.

If we could understand English better, we might have enjoyed it even more, but it was a tour that was enjoyable even without knowing English.

On that day, our family (two adults and an elementary school child) participated together. It was our first time kayaking, and since our child is a bit timid and had never been in water where they couldn't touch the bottom, we felt a little anxious about joining. The guide was very kind and taught us various things, allowing both us and our child to participate very enjoyably. During snorkeling, the guide changed locations while keeping an eye on our child and swam with us, for which we are truly grateful. The all-you-can-eat snacks and drinks, including alcohol, were great. Meals in Hawaii are quite expensive, so I had been struggling to eat my fill for a while, but this day I had dinner here, and the cocktails were delicious too.

Of course, the cruising was amazing. I've never seen such a beautiful sunset before. A couple of mother and baby whales came close to us! You could only see their backs and tails above the water, but they were adorable. When I went whale watching in Waikiki, I could only see them tiny and far away, so I really appreciated this tour.

I highly recommend it. There was a bit of distance from the hotel to the meeting place, so it was my first time renting a car overseas, but I think driving on the Big Island is relatively easy. I'm glad my debut went well. Thanks to that, I was able to visit various beaches, and I'm grateful for that!

お菓子とアルコール含む飲み物が食べ放題　飲み放題でした。とにかくハワイの食事が高いので　なかなかお腹いっぱい食べれない日が続いていて　この日はここで夕飯がわり　カクテルも美味しくて良かったです。

The sea was wonderful, and I enjoyed both kayaking and snorkeling. Since there was no transportation provided, it was fine to wear my swimsuit and take an Uber to the meeting point at the hotel parking lot. However, after the tour ended, we dispersed in the parking lot. I had to change in the nearby hotel's restroom without any shower facilities. I really wished there had been at least a simple shower to rinse off the salt, and I would have appreciated having a place to change.

海は素敵でカヤックもシュノーケリングも楽しめました。
送迎がないので水着を着て集合場所のホテルの駐車場までウーバーでいくのは良いのですが、ツアーが終わったあとも、駐車場で解散となりました。着替えはシャワーもないままそばのホテルのトイレでしました。せめて簡易シャワーで塩を落としたかったですし、着替える場所も欲しかったです。

In mid-February, I participated in this activity, fulfilling my long-time dream of swimming with wild dolphins. It was truly an amazing experience. The captain, a woman named Bambi, was very knowledgeable about the Hawaiian sea and the ecology of dolphins and whales. She provided excellent guidance on where to spot dolphins, when to jump into the water, and her hospitality on the boat was top-notch. I also appreciated that this activity had a small group size, which made it even better.

<Recommended Points>
1. All conversations with the captain on the boat are in English, but they have a Japanese desk available, so if anything comes up, you can communicate in Japanese. (There were times when I needed to contact them due to scheduling issues, and I was grateful for their assistance in Japanese.)
2. The small group size.
3. There are noodles (floating pool toys), so even if you're not confident in your swimming ability, you can feel secure.
4. They provide free rentals of masks, snorkels, fins, and wetsuits.

<Content of the Experience>
After gathering, we quickly boarded the boat and headed to the dolphin spotting point. Along the way, we received instructions on how to wait when dolphins are spotted and how to swim. When we finally saw dolphins, we didn’t jump in immediately; instead, we observed the dolphins and waited for the chance to get close. Sometimes, other tour boats would pass by, causing the dolphins to speed up or swim away, making it difficult to jump in. However, we patiently waited for the captain's instructions from the boat, and when we got the go-ahead, we jumped into the sea! After that, we enjoyed swimming alongside the dolphins. Luckily, we got to swim with dolphins early on, so we spent the remaining time searching for whales, snorkeling, and being guided along the coastline on our way back to the dock. (We were also treated to tropical fruits on the boat!)

The activity lasted about four hours, and I had more than enough experience; I was very satisfied.

<Personal Recommended Items to Bring>
1. Although the boat has a roof, it can be quite sunny, and it can get cold while moving, so I recommend bringing a light jacket.
2. I highly recommend bringing a “familiar” waterproof camera. Dolphins swim quickly, so if you hesitate, you might miss the shot. (Smartphone cameras can be risky to drop, and they may take time to start up or be difficult to see the screen.) Additionally, it’s a good idea to attach a floating accessory to your waterproof camera in case it slips from your hand.

<Cautions>
1. Dolphins are wild, so there’s a possibility you may not see them depending on the day. Let’s hope to see them!
2. You cannot touch the dolphins (to prevent them from getting sick). The dolphins will not come close to play; instead, you will swim alongside them. (Generally, you will need to use the noodles to swim. It’s best to inquire directly if you can dive.)
3. Activities other than dolphin swimming (like whale watching and snorkeling) may vary in duration depending on the time spent on dolphin swimming. (In any case, dolphins tend to disappear around 9:30 AM to sleep.)

２月中旬にこのアクティビティに参加し、長年の夢であった野生のイルカと一緒に泳ぐ夢がかない、本当に素晴らしい体験をすることができました。
船長は女性のBambiさんは、ハワイの海とイルカやクジラの生態を熟知しておられる方で
イルカが見られるポイント、海へ飛び込むタイミングの指示、船上でのおもてなしが最高でした。本アクティビティは少人数制なのでそれも良かったと思います。

<おすすめポイント>
① 船上での船長との会話はすべて英語となりますが、日本語専用のデスクを設けておられるので何かあったときには日本語でやり取りしてもらえます。(スケジュールの関係で連絡をしないといけないことがありましたが、日本語でご対応いただき助かりました)
② 少人数制であること。
③ ヌードル(棒状の浮き輪)があるので、多少泳ぎに自身がなくても安心。
④ マスク、シュノーケル、フィン、ウェットスーツを無料で貸し出ししてもらえます。

<参加したときの内容>
集合後、早速船に乗りイルカが見えるポイントへ。道中にはイルカが見えた時の待機のしかた、泳ぎ方などのレクチャーがあります。
実際にイルカが見えたときには、すぐに飛び込まずイルカの様子を伺い、私たちとイルカが近づけるチャンスを待ちました。その際、他のツアーの船などが往来し、イルカの速度があがったり逃げてしまったりで なかなか飛び込むことができない場合がありますが、船上から船長の指示をじっと待ち、GOサインがでたらいざ海へ！！そのあとはイルカに近づいて並走を楽しみました。
運よく早々にイルカと泳ぐことを楽しめたので、残りの時間でクジラ探しやシュノーケリング、船着き場へ戻る途中で海岸沿いを船で案内してもらいました。(船上では南国フルーツのおもてなしもありました！)

アクティビティ開始から約４時間でしたが、十分すぎる体験をすることができ、大満足でした。

<個人的 おすすめ持参品>
① 船上は屋根はありますが、日差しがきつい場合と、船での移動中は寒いときがあるので軽く羽織れる服を持参すると良いと思います。
② “使い慣れた”防水カメラを持参することを激しくお勧めします。イルカの泳ぐ速度は早いので、もたついていると撮影できません。(スマホのカメラは落とす危険があることと、起動に時間がかかる場合や画面が見づらいもありますので、、) また、防水カメラへは手から離れてしまっても浮くアクセサリを付けていると良いと思います。

<注意点>
① イルカは野生なので、日にちによっては見ることができない可能性もあるそうです。会えることを祈りましょう。
② イルカへは触れません。(イルカが病気になってしまう可能性があるため)　イルカ側から近寄ってきて一緒に遊んでくれるのではなく、泳いでいるところを一緒に泳がせてもらう感じでした。(基本、ヌードル必須で泳ぐことになると思います。潜水しても良いかどうかは直接お問合せいただいたほうが良いと思います。)
③ ドルフィンスイム以外(クジラ探しやシュノーケリング等)は、ドルフィンスイムにかける時間により、あったり短くなったりだと思います。(いずれにせよ、イルカは９時半ごろからは寝るために居なくなるそうです)
④　　日本の文化には無いですが、アクティビティに満足されたらチップを渡しましょう。

The event was held four times a week, and the schedule worked out well. The buffet-style food was well-managed by the staff, allowing guests to fill their plates without waiting in line, and during the wait, we could enjoy drinks while watching a mini-show, which was nice. The menu was clearly introduced on the website in advance, featuring many local Hawaiian ingredients and dishes, and the taste was excellent. The hula dance and fire show performed by the young male and female artists were beautiful and impressive. It was a satisfying show.

オープニングで、船に乗ってカメハメハ大王一団が厳かに上陸するセレモニーが雰囲気を盛り上げてくれ、よかった。
バイキング形式のお料理は、係員がお客を上手に案内して並ばずに盛り込め、待ち時間中はミニショーを見ながらドリンクがいただけてよかった。お料理の内容も事前にウエブで紹介されわかりやすく、ハワイ特産の素材、料理が多く、味もよかった。
フラダンス、ファイアーショーは演技者の若者男女、美しく、かっこよかった。満足いくショーでした。

I found a similar tour that offered Japanese language support, but since this one was cheaper, I decided to join this tour instead. I passed by the Japanese tour group along the way, and they were following a similar course. The participants there were in their 40s to 60s, so the age group was a bit older.

In our tour, everyone except us was from Europe or America, so we spoke in English. They were friendly people in their 30s, which made for a fun atmosphere that I enjoyed. There were also some adventurous individuals who jumped off the rocks, so I think younger people would have more fun on this English tour.

The sun was strong, but I wore a long-sleeved rash guard, so I managed to avoid a bad sunburn. At first, I hesitated to leave my smartphone and valuables behind, but I was worried about them getting wet, so I decided to hand them over. As expected, I capsized once while kayaking on the way back and got soaked, so anyone going in the future should definitely leave their valuables before getting on the kayak.

似たようなツアーで日本語OKのものがあったのですが、値段が安かったのでこちらのツアーに参加しました。日本語ツアー組も途中すれ違ったので、似たようなコースを進んでいました。そちらの参加者は40～60代だったので高めの年齢層でした。

私たちのツアーは、私たち以外は欧米人だったので、英語でしゃべっていました。彼らは30代前後の友好的な人達だったので、私も楽しい雰囲気で楽しめました。
岩場から飛び降りたりしていたやんちゃな人もいたので、若い人ならこちらの英語のツアーの方が楽しめると思います。

日差しが強かったのですが、長袖のラッシュを着ていたので、ひどい日焼けはしなくて済みました。最初、スマホや貴重品を預けるのを躊躇したのですが、水没が心配だったので預けることにしました。案の定、カヤックで帰ってくるときに1回転覆してびしょびしょになったので、これから行く人は迷わず貴重品はカヤックに乗る前に預けた方が賢明です。

The tour guide was frank and easy to talk to.

I thought it would be about two hours, but it ended up being close to three hours, which was enjoyable. However, for the first two hours or so, the host's talk and performances delayed the start of the actual Hawaiian show. It might be a reminder to take it easy and enjoy Hawaiian time. The show itself wasn't much different from what I've seen outside of Hawaii.

I signed up for whale watching for the first time. The guide spoke English and explained everything very clearly, so I was able to enjoy the time until we reached the point where we could see the whales without getting bored. We happened to encounter a mother and baby whale, and since they were right beneath the boat, I was lucky to see the whole thing. It was great that there were drinks available, including alcohol.
